Stephanie is very knowledgeable and listens to her clients. I have curly/wavy hair and she gave me the best cut I’ve had in years. Very reasonable as well, I highly recommend!

It’s a no from me. I got a haircut a month ago (2/11) by Chris and I was unsatisfied by the service and cut given. Since then I have called 5x times and left messages each time. I spoke with one stylist about the incident and left my name and number. I’ve also submitted two contact me forms of their website and I tried to email them with the email on the website( which is not a valid email) as well, with no response back. The lack of communication is loud. As far as my cut goes, I asked for 1-2 inches off and to keep everything possible. I *had* very long hair but 5 inches were taken off the bottom. I did as for some long layers, and instead the majority of my hair is layers. I was and am still shocked with my hair. It was not what I asked for. In addition, when I booked I also added notes about the cut that I desired as well, so it shouldn't have been a surprise about what I wanted. Along with my cut I paid for a deep conditioning treatment that never happened. He washed my hair for 3-4 minutes, for a service that should’ve lasted 10-15. The product they use is supposed to sit for 10-15 minutes alone which another stylist a the salon quoted to me. But not to worry, he still charged me for it. When I got out to my car ( with very wet hair still ) I realized how much he actually cut off! I was devastated and hadn’t noticed because of how fast he ushered me to pay. In total my appointment was 19 minutes. I want a refund and I wouldn’t recommend this salon to anyone.

12/31/2022: I had a truly horrible experience. I went in to have a hair cut. Simple. Because of my hair texture I asked for light layers, nothing too choppy & I wanted to keep as much length as possible. What I received was a choppy, uneven, short MESS. I went to Fresh Salon downtown for them to fix it. Two stylists came over and shook their head in disappointment at the cut and asked me where I received my cut. I told them Stephanie King Hair Studio and both of them said "oh shoot we've been hearing very bad things about this place". I was encouraged by Fresh Salon to request a refund from Stephanie King salon. I called the SK salon & was denied. To add insult to injury Stephanie King herself dug her heals in about her policy which she is capable of making exceptions. She said that she wanted the opportunity to fix the haircut before giving a refund. Never in a million years would I go back to a salon and allow them to potentially make my butcher job of a haircut WORSE. This salon is awful. From start to finish I received terrible service and have to live with the bad haircut they gave me. I would never recommend this salon to anyone and the master stylists at Fresh Salon agree with me. Beware, guys. 2/26/2023 Update in response to the owner: I was not aggressive or rude. I continue to not be aggressive or rude. I'm just letting people know my experience, honestly, as it happened in reality. On the other hand, the owner can't help herself but lie, be publicly argumentative and be locked in her world of denial. It's a bummer she has to be this way. She could have just taken responsibility and apologized. Instead here we are 3 months later, still with the awful haircut from her salon and now she's slinging lies. She's not a very good person. Please avoid her salon. 4/5/2023 Update in response to the owner AGAIN because she can't let this go. Here we are 3.5 months later and she keeps reminding me how awful her salon is, how poorly I was treated & how I STILL have the awful haircut from her salon. "Sorry you feel that way" is not an apology. Additionally, the owner never requested a photo from me or for me to come in to show her the butcher haircut. She simply said "come in & let me fix it" (which is completely an unreasonable request given the circumstance). She simply went online & responded to my review with lies. Again, she's not a good person. She does not take responsibility. Please avoid her salon & pay close attention to the other negative reviews. They speak volumes. 5/1/2023 Owner deleted and rewrote her response to my reviews. I'm leaving mine up though, exactly how it was written in response to her. They closed up shop without letting anyone know. My elderly mom had a standing appointment at the Jefferson Center and these crooks couldn’t be bothered to tell her. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!

You have a few 1star reviews for justifiable reasons, your responses to these reviews are childish. Take accountability for mistakes you or your salon has made.

Stephanie has been my stylist for a few years now. You will always receive professional service. I love how Stephanie pays attention to all her customers wants. Her haircuts are the best that I have received in years...⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just had a great experience, and a fabulous haircut! and style with Chris! Was growing a pixie cut for months. Chris took time to answer my questions, and provided feedback during my appointment at the Salon. The prices are very reasonable, and my friends always give me compliments about my "new do!" After searching for a Hairstylist near Sarasota, I'm so glad that I finally found a place! Appointments can be made online, which is convenient, since my schedule is crazy most weeks.

Needed a simple long layered trim. Was in and out and was happy that my curls sprung back to life.

Chris was awesome! Very quick and professional, great cut at a very good price.

Stephanie has been my stylist since I moved here nearly 9 years ago. I’m an outdoorsy gal that likes to just put a bit of product in and let the beach weather just do what it does… she is awesome with cuts and textures. She also is a master at highlighting my hair with the change of seasons. She listens closely if I am asking for something specific, but it is awesome to just sit in the chair and know I will have an awesome stylish cut and highlight that makes people compliment me and ask… “Hey, where did you go for that & who does your hair?!” If I could rate her 10 stars, I would. Prices are so reasonable and with her years of expertise, you will never be let down! So awesome she’s centrally located in Sarasota! Love You, Stephanie!! See you soon! 😉😘
