The food is phenomenal and the service was excellent. This was a great place to bring my uncle to celebrate his 80th birthday.

After a six-year absence, we went back to Tara’s kitchen to rekindle fond memories of great food and great service. However we were disappointed. The sweetened Moroccan tea was replaced with a tea bag and Heinz honey packet, the tagines we ordered were “ok” but lacked the special touch that Tara herself added to the dishes, and the service was rushed and not well coordinated. Overall a disappointing experience.

Always tasty but sometimes the orders seem to get mixed up, although most dishes are much the same

Best restaurant in Schenectady. Four tasty tagines, with generous servings. One appetizer makes a light lunch.

So glad I stopped in. From out of town, i was wandering Schenectady admiring the old houses. I was looking for a unique restaurant in a fun location. My first time having Moroccan good and I loved it. All of the servers and staff were super friendly. The food was delicious. I had a spicy dip appetizer and there lamb stew with spinach and onions. So good.

First time and the food was fantastic. I even ordered the sangria light orange. Was amazing. We recommend this little Moroccan gem.

Love Tara Kitchen. Extra points for their clearly marked menu (I am vegetarian and allergic to dairy, and I love how easy it is for me to figure out what I can order!)

We arrived at Tara Kitchen slightly before the dinner rush and opted to sit outside. The gardens are lovely, but a little buggy so we sat in the area closest to the restaurant, which was more covered. On to the food. To start, we had the delicious Pita Bruschetta, with olives, cherry tomatoes and onions and a lovely vinaigrette which was served with warm pita. I ordered the Chicken with Preserved Lemons and Green Olives. There were generous chunks of chicken in the lemony sauce with onions, raisins, and plenty of green olives, with rice served on the side. My husband had the Lamb with Honey, Prunes, Apricots, Almonds and a touch of Harisa for a bit of spice. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the dish was hearty and satisfying. The service was fast and friendly, and it is clear why Tara's Kitchen is so popular. By the time we left, the restaurant was filling up, with patrons eager to experience the good food, so lovingly prepared.
