Amazing piece of living history. The ranger talk in the theatre was so well done. Really brought history to life, especially for my two young boys. The museum did a great job describing the times that lead up to the assassination as well as Lincoln’s presidency. Cannot recommend it enough. Make sure you buy tickets in advance online and ensure your time includes all 4 pieces of the experience: museum, theatre, Peterson House, and aftermath exhibits. Not all times include everything, especially the afternoons on weekends when they are putting on plays.

Taking a step back in time!
The Ford's Theater Museum and tour is well worth it. Its free unless you opt for the audio guide $5 but I didn't use it, opting instead to focus on all the information in the museum and listening to the ranger talk in the theater. Even the actual gun used in the assassination is on display. If you get the full tour (depends on which hour you choose to go), you can see the theater box the Lincoln's occupied and the room where he died across the street from the theater. You will learn a lot about that fateful night.
The show we saw was great! This review is a reflection of the 2 women running the concession stand, they were incredibly rude, dismissive and left a horrible impression of the venue. I can see that there are multiple reviews referencing their bad service spanning over a year so this was unfortunately not an isolated incident.

Ford's Theatre is one of my favorite places in the city to see a show. The team truly puts so much thoughtfulness in each performance and the productions are top-notch. If you go often, you will end up seeing familiar faces from show to show which is really cool.
We were able to take my nine and four year old to the recent showing of the Christmas Carol and they spent the entire show absolutely enthralled which is not an easy feat! They loved exploring the gift shop (and couldn't resist getting some Lincoln memorabilia) and have spent the rest of past week talking and singing in an English accent.
The theatre is absolutely beautiful and it always feels exciting to feel like you are sitting in actual, living history. Seating is roomy and comfortable and there truly is not a bad seat in the house.
Hot Tip: If it's cold out, leave your coat in your car so you can settle in without a lot of bulk. There is a parking garage that goes directly into the building so you're not left walking around in the freezing winter. It is worth every penny.

I supported the Ford Theatre for almost 23 years. I purchased some tickets on the wrong month and right away realized the error and purchased the tickets for the correct month. It has been about three weeks now and I still have not received my refund as promised which was $940.00. Not only that, but they also removed a seat and did not refund the amount for it or notified me of doing this. I will not be supporting this in the future.
