Had a blast on the San Juan quality water stretch. Rob put me on some nice rainbows and a really nice brown that finally made a run after a 10 minute battle and broke me off. I am already planning my next trip with Rob to go back and catch that monster brown that got away!

Michael was an awesome guide, 10/10. Never caught so many fish in a single day. Wasn't fishing, more like catching. Michael is super knowledgeable and made me way more confident to go out on my own. Fantastic creek fishing up near silverton. Stayed and fished till dark even after we finished with the guide

Guides were great fun. Fishing was good. Had a billing snafu and Jeremy corrected it no problem.

My husband and I had never been fly fishing before and this was the best possible first experience with it! Our guide, Rob Pepper, was awesome! He gave us the perfect amount of instruction to teach us without overwhelming these extreme beginners. As we improved a bit through the morning, he helped us improve on other aspects of our fly fishing. He also had a great, easygoing personality that was really enjoyable to be around for the day. This fly fishing trip was an absolute blast and made us both want to do more fly fishing in the future.

We’ve done 2 charters now with Sam and Twenty4Seven. They were both excellent. Sam is knowledgeable about fishing and provides a fun experience for kids and adults. Highly recommend!

Really beautiful fall day wading the Animas with my guide, Michael Mote. Due to erratic weather the last few days he and I discussed the advantages of various spots. With his input, and expertise, we made the right call because the trout were sporty! He put me on to some great fish, and helped me tune up my casting and presentation. Heads Up was recommended by a friend who recently fished with them and they didn’t disappoint. Jeremy Nolan, owner, was on the ball from the moment I contacted him and helped facilitate a fantastic visit to Durango. Will be back for sure!

Great day out on the water. Captain Sam was absolutely great, he worked hard to find the striped bass and got several nice striped bass, I highly recommend this charter to anyone.

Great experience!!! We booked the 6 hour guided fishing outing. It was easy meeting up with our guide at the Home Depot in town. He took us to a private ranch not too far out of town. As we pulled up into the ranch we saw four beautiful bucks hoping over the fence of the property- it was an awesome start to the day. He took us down to a secluded part of the river and it was absolutely stunning. Our guide Michael was great! I was a little rusty with my fly fishing skills, but he got me up to speed and catching fish quickly. My husband fished while my 2 year-old and I hung out. Michael was great at keeping us involved & I had a great time enjoying the experience even though I wasn’t fishing (our 2 year old was able to hold and release many fish). We started in a spot that had lots of medium sized fish and got my husband comfortable with casting and reeling in fish. Then we moved to a more aggressive location where we waded deeper into the water and had an opportunity to go after some bigger fish. Unfortunately he didn’t catch the state record fish, but he caught a lot of good sized rainbows and had a great time.

We had an amazing trip with our guide Michael. It was clear that he not only had a love for fly fishing, he also loved teaching and sharing his enthusiasm for the sport, and for the outdoors. From the planning of our trip to take my two teenage sons out for their first time fly fishing, making sure the location and the guide were the absolute best fit, to the afternoon on the river, every detail was excellent. Michael was a patient teacher and knew how to help my boys have patience with themselves while they learned. I would highly recommend fishing with Heads Up Fly Fishing and if I’m ever in Colorado again we definitely will!

Terrific experience. Very easy and accommodating reservation process. Super polite and professional owner. Was assigned Michael Mote as my guide and he was awesome…really cool and laid back. We waded private waters in a gorgeous stretch of river on the Los Pinos. I enjoyed spending 6 hours with him. Put me on many nice sized fish. I had a blast. Wish I had more time and more days. Capt. Sam was absolutely great. He worked hard catching us live bait and finding us some beautiful Stripers. I can't say enough about how important it was for him, to get us fish. This has been the highlight of our trip!! Capt. Sam or as we will always affectionately call him.. not in Nuetral Sam.. is the guide you should choose!!!!

Went on a guided trip with my wife and two daughters(6 & 9). We are all new to fly fishing. Our guides Rob and Mike were awesome. They had us fishing like old pros in no time. These guys are great for families. Worth every penny. Thanks guys!

We had such a great Father’s Day charter with Sam! After calling him to talk about some logistics, he was so nice and accommodating, I immediately booked with him for a surprise fishing excursion. He was punctual and just as friendly upon picking us up at the dock and that continued during our trip. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and we caught several massive stripers!!! We had an absolutely amazing time and we returned to the dock feeling like we had made a new friend. I highly recommend Capt Sam for your trip!

What an absolute RIPPER DAY. We did the 4hr wading trip on the San Juan River with Rob and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! We had minimal to no previous fishing experience but there was plenty of time for us to get the hang of it, and Rob did a great job of explaining and helping us all out. The scenes were incredible, we all had some success, some good laughs, and Rob was just an all round top bloke! An awesome intro to fly fishing, and thank you to Jeremy for helping us organise a great day out. Will head back up for another trip soon.

The guy knows flat out what he’s doing we went from been nervous about our summer to not having enough help! I highly suggest him!

I just spent two days on a father and son trip fishing Private Waters with Kyle. It was an outstanding experience. To begin, booking the trip with Jeremy was smooth and easy, very well coordinated, no surprises. Fishing Private waters, boots on the ground, was big fun. The scenery and solitude of the streams we fished was spectacular, but Kyle was the best part of the trip. Not only did he take us to some awesome honey holes where we caught fish, but he taught us how to work the stream between the holes. Walking along the bank, Kyle would look at the stream and say, "that looks fishy, let's take a few casts before we move upstream." First cast, bam, a rainbow trout. The next thing you know, we hooked three trout in a spot on the stream that you wouldn't expect to catch anything. Kyle was a great guide and teacher and I can't wait to use everything he taught us on my local streams. This was an experience of a lifetime!
