I found Sarah and the Dance Den just before lockdown in 2020 and wish I had found her sooner. The fact she has been there and ran a school is so helpful she has all the tools you need to build your school and more. The Den is a great community and it helps that there are other people who have been through similar situations that you can get advice from. The start, steer and scale programme goes into so much detail and helps on so many levels. I aim to really grow my school this year with the help of the Den members and Sarah.

I feel eternally grateful to have found Sarah and The Dance Den. I joined in 2017, 2 years after taking over my business and she has given me the confidence, self-belief and so much more to push my business forwards. She is kind and caring and understands each individual as a person rather than a number. She helps and guides us but also pushes and challenges you when it's needed. I love being part of the Den, the other business owners in there are supportive, non judgmental and we all really help each other out. Thank you Sarah for being you and for creating an amazing community for us all to be a part of. If you're thinking about joining then go for it as you won't be disappointed when you do.

If you are a dance business owner who wants to grow your business then please consider the dance den! Sarah is such a lovely, down to earth mentor, who's straight talking, practical advice has been so influential to my business. The road map that you get with the membership is also fab - It is so easy to follow with loads of resources and videos to help set up your school in a way that serves you and the life you want. Since joining the den I have learnt so much and implemented so many additional revenue streams/profit boosters due to the advice from the monthly trainings and little tweaks made to my business. It's so lovely to be in the den and connect with so many other amazing studio owners as well! It can be such a lonely job and having a group that 'get it' is the best. Thank you Sarah! X

So glad to have found Sarah and the Den during lockdown. Her support and knowledge at the time was invaluable and several years down the line continues to be. I now feel so much more organised with the running of my school, even in the crazy busy times, and the things that I've implemented mean that when life's curve balls come my way the studio is still able to keep running. I love the way Sarah keeps things updated for us continually so there is always something to help you grow your knowledge and your studio as and when you want to, there is no pressure, but with a wealth of trainings and resources to access, the den is a one stop shop for dance studio owners for all areas of their business. At the heart of this is Sarah herself, such a warm, friendly, genuine person, so kind and caring who genuinely wants the best for each and every one of us, and is always there to lend her support and cheer us on. Running your own dance school can be quite isolating if you have no other staff you can talk to. Joining The Den means I now have colleagues I can bounce ideas off, get support from, share information with and champion in return. I didn’t realise quite how much I’d missed that until I had it again! Thank you Sarah for bringing us all together and motivating us to continually improve and grow. 💜 EDIT: Having been a Den member for some time now I can really appreciate the value of what we get. Not only is there a network of people to turn to whenever you need to ask a question, get an opinion, or even just vent, but there is a wealth of advice and experience that Sarah has put together to help us develop. Her new Start, Scale, Steer programme has everything that you will need for the stage that you are at. She has put together an invaluable package of training at each stage to follow at your own pace to develop your own school in the direction you want to take it. She supports you and challenges you in equal measure to ensure that you are always doing the best thing for you and your school. Despite my best efforts I always found myself working ‘in’ the business, now, with the support of Sarah and The Den I am putting time aside to work ‘on’ the business too. The Dance Den is a fantastic community of support for dance school owners. We have been a Dance Den Approved school for many years and really value the initiative. As the Academy owner, I have previously struggled with business networks and memberships as many are aimed at corporate style companies, which wasn't a good fit for a dance school. The Den is designed specifically for my type of business so works perfectly. Sarah has a vast knowledge and expertise which she has gained from personal experience of running her own very successful school through good times and bad. This is so beneficial as she completely understands the difficulties faced in the industry and solutions that can be found. I highly recommend joining.

The way I run my dance school has changed SO much since joining the Den! And ALL for the better! I was a teach-dance-first-run-a-business-later kind of dance teacher and I have learned that they are not separate things. We all LOVE teaching the kids, and helping them grow and learn. But now I am confident enough to wear a REAL business owners hat too. Sarah's help and support (along with the other fabulous Den members) has given me the confidence to face the parts of business that I wasn't sure of, and to grow my business successfully, mindfully, and to keep working as I have a wonderful group of people behind me. I joined the Den during Covid, after a Zoom meeting with Sarah and Anne Walker. I am not a very active member, I read fb and have done a few videos. The videos I have done have done have taught me sooo much even after 30 years of running my own school. There are a lot of ‘dance teacher’ business mentors out there, but knowing that Sarah has been there done it and got through the problems and still has a thriving school is the biggest thing that keeps me with her. I wouldn’t trust someone who hadn’t successfully run their own school! I have considered many times whether the monthly fee is ‘worth it’ as I don’t use it as much as I could, but for me the answer is an overwhelming yes. To know that I have a group of teachers all doing the same thing at my fingertips to ask a question, and also if really stuck Sarah, is worth every penny. The support you feel is incredible.

Any dance school owner wanting to make progress, improve their business or their work/life balance would benefit from having Sarah (Dance Den) as a coach. Sarah has the experience and ability to make such a difference to your business and your personal life. Sarah listens to you, encourages you, supports you, challenges you and pushes you to really think about what you want, how you want to get there and what’s really important. Having lost my husband (and dance school business partner) I was struggling both with the business and emotionally, but since having Sarah as a coach I am feeling stronger and much more like my old self. She is amazing! I have found myself working smarter, not harder. Working less hours, but getting more done and my dance school is flourishing as a result – as am I. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am to have found Sarah and The Dance Den. Joining this group was the best decision I ever made - my business has grown (I now have my own studio too!) and so has my self belief and confidence. What I love most is that Sarah is simply ‘one of us’ - she knows exactly what we are going through and how to help us succeed but she is also there if we fall or feel overwhelmed to say ‘that’s ok’. I am stronger, wiser and value myself and my own personal time more because of this wonderful community and not only have I and my business benefited from The Den, so has my own family. The Den is a family of fellow dance/performing arts business owners who get our world. We're there to cheer and support and with Sarah expert knowledge we can all try to avoid the same set backs. I took a step away from The Den during the pandemic as I had no studio, however, my studio came back to life again end of 2021 and The Den was there to welcome me back! No chance of me leaving The Den again now, I'd forgot how supportive everyone was, especially Sarah. Join, you will see your business fly!
