Tim, John, and Jack were incredibly knowledgeable and approachable about the nuanced world of whiskey. Their curated selection includes rare, exclusive, and newbie-friendly bottles that can't be found outside of Kentucky. Justin’s should be the first stop for any whiskey-curious traveler visiting Louisville.

We were really looking forward to visiting Justin's House of Bourbon. While the place looked fantastic with a great shelf setup, the customer service was a big letdown. When we walked in, the employee was on the phone and, after finishing, let us know he could help if needed. However, as we browsed, he spent the entire time complaining loudly about his phone call to another employee across the room. It felt unprofessional and made us uncomfortable – we didn’t need to hear about it. He came across as arrogant and rude. While we did find the bottle we wanted, we won’t be returning. We've had much friendlier, more inviting service at other liquor stores. Very disappointed in this experience.

The kid behind the counter was great

Great if you want to visit a bourbon museum, but the prices behind glass are insane. Anywhere from 2-4x secondary. All of these bottles are available via Unicorn Auctions, and no need for this place to exist anymore.

Many options for specialty bourbons. Definitely pricey with a second market price for some of the more rare bottles.

A few days before I visited I emailed the store to check the availability of a store pick. My email was returned with yes, they have them in stock. When I came in to shop, I was greeted by a guy and I asked about the store pick. He laughed and said "Nope. Those sold out in 3 days." A bit surprised, I said ok, I have an email saying otherwise. Which then he asked, what my name was and who told me that. I pulled up the email with the specifics. He then said "Well we had some, but not anymore." Meanwhile, another employee went to the back and pulled out two bottles. The original employee yelled across the shop- "No, no, no, not for him." Then told me to take it up with the guy who said they have them in stock from my email. These are a store pick- not something highly allocated. Now, I get it. They have people asking all the time for "stuff in the back" all the time. However, I wasn't upset or anything. I was told something and surprised to find a different answer after I came to town. I even said, maybe I can find something else. But I was still a customer, and not one apology or even recommendation for something else followed his little outburst and to have him be so concerned that the other bottles being brought out "weren't for me" left me not wanting to come back. I can find other stores that have good picks.

Got to try a Stitzel-Weller product for the first time, and that was great, but my problem was with the employees. Two of them were nice but lacked knowledge, and the one who knew a lot was a jerk and seemed like he was high.

John was AWESOME! Chocked full of knowledge. We had a great visit with him since the distilleries were all closed on a Monday. Very happy!

Great place to stop by and find some unique bourbon offerings! Some more expensive than others, but worth the look, I think their lower end options are priced just right! If you’re looking for a special bottle this would be a good spot to check out. You can even get a tasting here. Only 1 person was working so we couldn’t make it happen at this time but plan to in the future.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great place to check out high-end bottles and single barrel picks. Highly recommend tasting before you buy.
