My husband and I lived here for about 8 months then we had to move out of state due to work, we wanted to have the housing do a check on the apartment before we left, but we’re unable to due to a bad storm that was rolling in so we needed to leave a few days earlier than expected, we spoke with the housing and they were completely fine with it, telling us to just leave the keys in the apartment. So we did just that. We moved and forgot about the housing as we were so busy with unpacking and new jobs. I got a call exactly a week ago, I was at work so I was unable to answer then later got a call from my husband when I went on break. He told me that a debt collector was demanding we pay $200 to them from the apartment. I called the apartment. Saying that we leave trash and different various damages and things needing replaced. Apparently they tried to send a bill to us but it got sent back due to incorrect address, instead of trying to call or email us or contact us in any way they had a debt collector scare us. I had taken photos of the house before we left showing that what they were feeing us for was not how we left it. I called the housing and they gave me an email to send the pictures then said they would get back to us. I typed in the email wrong so it was sent to my pending box, my husband called in and was able to get the correct email and verified it was received. She said she would look over the photos and call us back. We have not heard back, that was Tuesday of last week and we called 5+ times a day and it always went to VM we left several messages and they would not reply. My husband was finally able to get a hold of them and they said that they were swamped and “unable” to get to our call. They said the manager who was working on this was out and would have her call us when she came in. Still have not been able to actually speak to her for a week.

Just happened to drive through the complex looking for the phone number on the sign was able to find it. The buildings looked very nice and newer and the complex was definitely very clean and seemed to be well capped by the groundskeeper or the tenants as well overall definitely a place I would be happy to live that already found another place though but overall seemed like a pretty nice place.

It's a good place to live...until you have to deal with the management. If there are any hiccups with paying your rent, even if it's the website's fault, they'll charge you with fees. If you go to the office to complain their motto is "I'm sorry it's policy, it's out of our hands". And yes, it's true that they bribe residents to leave 5-star reviews.

These people don’t care about you or your family. We’re paying for a/c, but they ripped the unit out and won’t replace it. It has gotten above 80 degrees in the apartment. It’s also been a couple of months. Don’t come here.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RENT HERE! I've lived in the village several times over the last 8 years. Prior to the current owners, I'd had pleasant experiences living here. However, since the new owners took over, management has been beyond horrible. One month they double charged our rent, told me I had to dispute it with the bank to get my money back, which then caused something in there system to freeze my account so I wasn't able to pay rent the next month and our auto pay didn't go through. We had to then go pay for a money order to get our rent paid, and we were told that everything would be fixed and our auto pay would be good to go for the next month. When the next month goes by, though, it turns out that I was lied to and my account was still frozen, only this time it was too late and I was charged late fees. When I went in to get things sorted out, they tried to make it seem like it was all my fault, and were very defensive when I accused them (rightly so) of giving me miss-information. I still payed everything I owed for being late, but I was very disappointed that they couldn't see me as a human being, and see how shady things looked from my perspective. They locked my account, told me it wasn't, then charged me fees when I was late due to me assuming it wasn't frozen because that's what they told me. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but the fact that they would not help me resolve this issue and still charged me these fees is what bothers me. Additionally, since this new management came in, they've thrown on all kinds of signing fees and processing fees. They also do a poor job clearing snow, and are very stingy with ice melt. We had a 3ft diameter slab of ice in front of our stairwell that required a lot of ice melt multiple times a week, but they refused to give us more than a small bucket's worth of ice melt once every 2 weeks, despite the obvious slipping hazard. Overall, they're unorganized, unprofessional, uncaring, unhelpful, disrespectful, and borderline decietful. I've never experienced worse management, ever. DO NOT RENT HERE.

Hello Alex, We apologize that your experience didn't match our expectations. Thank you for posting your review and we will make sure to do better in the future. I want to make sure you are aware of a few things that you mentioned for the future. The office has no ability to freeze your ability to autopay. Also, as I look through your ledger there was never a double-charge for rent. It is the policy for any resident that has 2 payment reversals due to nonsufficient funds to no longer be able to access online payments. This is also something that the office staff cannot override. This is also a policy that is standard for most apartment complex management companies. I hope that clears up any confusion you may have and I hope to have positive interactions in the future.

The apartments are very loud and My upstairs neighbor has it out for Me I have no electronics on after 10 pm and if I talk I'm talking at a normal level and still receiving noise complaints from the manager if I can't talk like a normal human being at night when there's no electronics or banging then what's the point of renting here especially when my upstairs neighbors can stomp around whenever they feel like it and move furniture at 11pm and get away with it

I never leave bad reviews but I feel it is my civic duty to warn people to never live here. I had terrible experiences with the staff- they are very unprofessional, unorganized, and just flat out rude. The place we lived in was way too overpriced for what it is. The place is falling apart- not to mention we used a carpet cleaner and went over the carpet 10x and it was still coming out BLACK. The place is filthy. Please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live.

I can't stress enough to pick somewhere with better management. The Village is not it. 1) You will not be keeping your security deposit. Prepare for random fees with no explanation, minuscule problems, and no response upon further inquiry. 2) They aren't professional or willing to work with you. I was told several times that would not be scheduling appointments. They would show up when they want. Not great for people who don't work at home and want to be there while they trapeze through your apartment. They also like to respond to emails with no punctuation or my personal favorite "no". That was the entire email. 3) They only form of outside maintenance they will do is "shovel the sidewalks" and mow the lawn in the summer. They will not handle bugs, ice on sidewalks, or people parking in your spot. Their solution is to try fixing it yourself. I won't lie. The apartments were typical college town apartments that have been around for years. The dog parks were nice. They have a nice clubhouse. However, I can't say that these things make up for the way that you will be treated here.

We had a great experience with our neighbors at the village and the apartment was ok. We did not have the best experience with the management. We spent most of the summer with our AC out and we often felt like the management valued money over their tenants. Otherwise it is a good location and decent apartment.

We aren't the type to try and cause issues over little things like some people are. We had two issues when we moved in, and we couldn't look past those issues. We brought these up to management almost expecting the complex to fight us on those, and they immediately did their best to fix it or immediately replied saying that it would be fixed or replaced that same day. I have been shocked about how easy the management has been to work with! They are excellent at their jobs and really do care about residents. So far it has been great here!! I will update if I have any issues that change my rating! (PS I was not offered any sort of reward or incentive to write this as other posters have claimed they offer)

The office staff was being rude and hanged up my phone call to ask them adjust the payment which is wrong. Never suggest to live there.

Without a doubt the worst place I have lived in Rexburg. Nickel and dime residents for anything and everything they can. Office management is useless. The good reviews are only because the Village offers incentives to write 5 star reviews. Do not recommend living here.

Me and my husband got a tour of a place and applied the same day but because of some communication errors (they took forever to respond and did so vaguely). We did not get that apartment or the other one they said we could have. Now we have nowhere to go! DO NOT LIVE HERE! THESE PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, ONLY MONEY!
