My usual wood supplier closed down so decided to try these guys, ordered and received the wood the very next day with a free pack of firelighters. Quality kameeldoring at very reasonable price. I was very impressed with the service received and the quality of the wood. The wood was stacked so neatly that it basically serves as a feature wall for the outside.
I measured the moisture of the wood and almost every piece was between 15-18% which is perfect for our indoor stove.

I just had a great experience with Wood Gurus. Buying wood in the middle of a very wet winter is always tricky and after a bad experience with a different company my expectations were low but I was very impressed! Communication was excellent and delivery was quick and on time. The guys were friendly and efficient and the wood looks great and very dry. Will be my go to supplier from now on!

The owners are petty and leave their drivers in actual fear of losing their jobs. The driver who delivered to me today said he wasn’t able to help me move the bags 1m onto my stoep because he may get into trouble. He had to take photos and videos proving that he couldn’t park on the curb in the narrow streets of Obs. They were visibly uncomfortable making me move the bags myself. I feel so for them. They had to apologise repeatedly for their boss’ instructions. As customer facing, you are putting your drivers in an awful position, guys. This is just petty and extorting people for extra money to pack 10 bags of wood inside a property (literally less than 1m from where they put the delivery) is not OK.

Hi Desre, I see that you emailed me as well. I took the time to respond and see that you never acknowledged my response. So I'll paste my email response to you here so that other future clients can see that we are transparent. Hi Desre.
I'm so sorry that you feel this way. Please understand that we have 2 delivery options. Let me explain it clearly to you. As it says the two options on the website prior to you placing the order and Don calls you to explain this once he gives you the delivery day and time. So I do feel it is highly unfair to say what you are saying. The picture that they take is for our records so if something goes missing or a client complains that something was not delivered we can prove that it was delivered , not for any other reasons that you are accusing me of.
OPTION 1 (which you chose).
DROP ONLY OPTION
We will drop your order where the delivery vehicle stops.
Should you require carrying over any distance then select the PREMIUM DELIVERY OPTION.
PREMIUM DELIVERY OPTION
We will carry and stack the wood with a maximum of 25m from where vehicle stops.
Only 1 flight of stairs included in the 25m.
If bags are ordered we will unpack 10 bags(at your request prior to delivery), the rest will be neatly stacked.
So the drop only fee is if a customer orders 1 - a few bags and doesn't see the value in paying the full premium fee. Now in your case being pregnant you should see the value in paying the full fee as we carry the wood and unbag upto 10 bags for you (im sure that you understand that labour is not free and we have to pay the workers R200-R250 each per day let alone the drivers wages which is more. All our customers seem to get the concept. So it has nothing to do with extortion as you are falsely accusing me of. It's more a case of convenience to the customer. And I assure you my customers understand the 2 options.
I will take your feedback onboard, and re-assess my delivery options.
May I offer you something for the inconvenience i.e. free delivery and packing on the next order or a bag or 2 on the house? or i can send them to you tomorrow to unbag and pack that wood wherever you like?
