BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT.
Todd’s work is incredible. His craft and attention to detail is astounding. My guitar was dead and brought back to life. He did a refret, new nut, and set up on my hollowbody Univox guitar and I was speechless. My expectations were exceeded

Todd got my guitar sounding and feeling exactly how I wanted. He listened to the little details of what I wanted in my guitar and executed precisely and quickly.

Todd was such a nice, cool guy. Him and his services are 10/10. I can’t recommend this business enough to any guitar player.

Do yourself a favor and bring your instrument to Todd’s Guitar Repair!

Great experience with getting rid of the buzz and adjusting the action on my guitar. Will definitely come back, 10/10.

Todd's guitar knowledge and expertise is second to none. He has now worked on six of my guitars and every one plays and sounds better after he got his hands on them. But his best quality is he has no judgement... you can bring him a $250 guitar or a $5K guitar and he will treat both with the reverence they deserve. It's all about how he can make the guitar better for you. I will continue to have him work on my guitars and couldn't recommend him more!

Todd did an amazing job with my guitar. I brought in a Taylor acoustic electric and realized I only enjoyed the sound while plugged in with reverb on. Little did I know that with some professional adjustments, the guitar’s acoustic qualities came to life - the twanginess disappeared and it became a lot more resonant. The harmonics also ring out so much more. I can’t stop playing the guitar after the tune up, thanks Todd!

I took my Gibson J50 to Todd who came highly recommended by a friend in Seattle. Worth the drive up from Tacoma. My favorite guitar was going out of tune and buzzing, also the pickup Gibson puts on kept falling in guitar body. Todd took the time to explain what he was going to do. His set up and problem solving made sense. When I picked it up just days after drop off, I was very pleased. When I got home and played, I fell in love with my guitar all over again. Great precision. Will definitely use Todd again.

Just called for a quick question about a repair and he was completely annoyed sarcastic and just not nice. Will not be considering ever bringing anything here for repair.

Todd is a pro. I took my Tele and my Epiphone to him and he made them both sing. He does skilled work at a very good price, and if you don't need work done, he won't try to persuade you. Top-notch guitar setup, and it doesn't take forever. Don't hesitate to take your instruments here.

I brought Todd my Taylor to take care of a minor intermittent problem. He did that and so much more. It now plays and sounds better than it ever did. The guitar was not cheap and should have been set up better by Taylor. Both the cost and turnaround time were reasonable.

I can recommend him without reservation and will definitely use him again.

There's a meme I like that basically says how you can either pay 15 dollars for amazing pad thai from a Thai restaurant *OR* you can spend 50 dolllars on all the ingredients to make a worse one.

I bought my Squier Jazzmaster about 6 months ago, and decided I was going to be brave and pour myself into learning the ins and outs of setting it up, modding, upgrading, etc. - and what with it being an offset guitar, h'oh boy did I choose trial by fire ...

After months of tinkering and learning and taking chances and being nearly in tears with frustration one minute and then making enormously rewarding progress the next, I decided I wanted to take it luthier for a proper setup. If for no other reason than to know what my guitar "should" sound like.

When I picked my guitar up, I could hardly believe how well it played. As most of you probably know, an offset guitar like a Jazzmaster is a tricky puzzle when it comes to a setting up—and Todd absolutely nailed the "formula" of having all the interdependent specs being aligned to what I could honestly believe is the best possible outcome. Additionally, the fret leveling, new bone nut, specific requests I made as far as electronics, and tightening up of every aspect from top to bottom was very noticable as the work of an expert.

His pricing model is transparent and he's very good at helping you manage your expectations about what costs you might incur at his hourly rate if your guitar requires as such beyond the fixed base prices. Based on my total at pickup, I could infer that absolutely none of that additional time was wasted as those tasks alone would probably have taken me months or even never completed as I lack the expertise and know-how even with online resources available. To reiterate, Todd is a master at his craft. Well worth the cost, and his waitlist reflects the quality of his work. Also, re: waitlist, he has a good system of phasing clients into his books and following up when their time comes around.

Brought my Epiphone Sheraton in as the jack had fallen in and it had never played quite right, even after a professional set up done elsewhere.

Awesome work, done in a reasonable amount of time for good price. Flawless nut replacement.

This is now by far my best playing guitar. Very happy with the work done.

I just got my guitar back from Todd, where it got a new bone nut and a set up. It plays great. Low action, light touch, no fret buzz, and intonation was spot on.

This was my first guitar, a 1987 Squire Stratocaster with a Fender System 1 Tremolo. A bit different than your average Strat. It's in amazing shape for a 37 year old guitar as it spent most of its life in the back of a closet. Not super expensive, but valuable to me nonetheless. Price was very reasonable and the work was first rate.

If you play guitar or bass and live anywhere in the greater Seattle area and don’t know about Todd Guitars and Repair…you should.

Todd is a true craftsman in every sense of the word and takes time to get to know his customers and the instruments you are entrusting with him.

I brought him two guitars and a bass that were giving me issues and we sat and talked while he diagnosed the problems and options for the fixes.

One of the many things I appreciated about this experience was his attention to detail and pursuit of perfection. He doesn’t take shortcuts and takes great pride in his work. Any instrument that comes to him he puts in 100% to make it play and sound the best it can.

I got my instruments back in less than a week and they play and sound better than ever. There is a reason why he is in such high demand and works with many big name bands. Do yourself a favor and get on his waiting list. Even if it’s a new production guitar (Fender, Gibson, etc.) his fret leveling, bone nut install and set up work will make it way better than stock.

I’ve been to so many big name shops in this area over the last few decades and can honestly say this is the best one.

This guy and his shop are a local gems. I can’t recommend his services enough!

Thank you for your work and commitment to excellence, Todd!!!

I brought my new Martin 000-18 to Todd assuming I would just need a few quick adjustments, but that it was basically ready to go.

Todd made a few suggestions of where we could some adjustments (no pressure at all, btw!) and a week later it's like this is another brand new guitar. The guitar's resonance and overtones are wildly improved, as good as the guitar sounded out of the shop, it somehow sounds better after Todd's work.

I brought Todd a guitar that had sentimental value but was by no means a high-end instrument and he still treated it with all the care and attention he's so well-known for. The work was very well done, the guitar is now in great shape, and I highly recommend Todd and his work!

Todd is an artisan. He has an incredibly deep understanding of how guitars work and how they should and could sound. He described it as "how the luthier who designed the guitar meant it to sound," or something to that effect.

I get the sense that, when he picks up an instrument, he can tell how the instrument will sound as it's currently constructed and knows how it could sound with his recommended adjustments and repairs.

I brought him three guitars (two electrics and an acoustic). We went through each one, and he told me his recommended repairs and adjustments. He was upfront about the amount of work each guitar would require, and he was supportive when I was a bit sheepish about putting money into an old acoustic, my very first guitar. For the amount of the repairs, I could probably have gotten a new, decent, entry-level guitar, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted to keep playing this guitar.

Less than a week later, each guitar had a cleaned fret board, polished frets, new strings, a full setup, handcarved bone nuts, and other repairs and adjustments. The acoustic also had a brand new bone saddle and years worth of wear and tear repaired. Todd even repaired a crack in the headstock I had forgotten to mention, and he didn't even charge me for it. Todd also gave me a discount on each guitar because I brought in a decent amount of work.

Each guitar plays like a dream. I've never heard my 17-year-old acoustic sound so articulate. Warm and clear at the same time. My Epi casino resonates so much better, and this 30 year old Vantage-brand jazzbox plays like I always wanted it to, and it now stays in tune.

I'll be back for more work soon. Thanks, Todd!

Getting on Todd’s waiting list and having a pro set up your guitars is well worth your time and money. There’s a reason he’s in demand. I dropped two guitars off with him for fret leveling and setup, and both came back a week later new instruments. I get to experience both of these guitars fresh a second time thanks to Todd’s work. I appreciated how he had me come in, sit down, and talk about the guitars. I was able to explain what I like and don’t like, what I thought might be wrong with the current setup, my style of playing, and what I’m hoping to achieve. He delivered. Period.

Broke the headstock of a new guitar and after reading the reviews in here I got really interested to see what was the deal with this guy, as I wasn't keen to take it to any random place. I wanted someone to give it proper love and care.
Well, I'm just gonna say that he is a proper artist and craftsman, the real deal. Honest, quality work.
Although I'm a guitar noob, I can see and hear the work that was put into it. It feels and sounds really good, much better than when new, and I even like the barely noticeable scars. A reminder of having to be more careful, and of the surgical work.
Thanks again dude.

Todd gave my Strat a perfect makeover. Re-fret, expert set up, plays like a dream, all for a super reasonable cost. Took extra time to talk me through the repairs. Expert craftsmanship and a real professional. Thank you, Todd!
