Outstanding stay! -The host were great , could not have been better-Cottage has a lot of charm. Very clean -amazing bath tub, lots of hot water-internet was very good . We were able to stream with our apply tv-outside setting is farm like with sheep and cows nearby -15 minutes to Penrith-were able to use cell phone in the house-host were excellent regarding communication and giving directions -great place for walking or hiking-Lake District is amazing for hiking, boating and sightseeing

Sarah & Pete's place was amazing. It had absolutely everything we needed. Sarah was really helpful with providing any information we needed, very promptly. The cottage was really cosy and we enjoyed a few nights watching TV in front of the wood burner.The views are stunning too!We can't wait to return!Thanks for everything!

Sarah & Pete’s cottage is nothing short of the perfect English cottage. Quaint, super charming, extremely well equipped. Great location to explore the Lake District. Lovely and thoughtful hosts. Can’t recommend it highly enough

The pictures definitely do not do this place justice! The bed was super comfortable, the huge bath was amazing and the cottage was well stocked with everything you might need for your stay. Sarah and Pete were the loveliest hosts - super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We will definitely come again!

The most charming and well equipped Airbnb I have ever stayed at. The host provided a welcome gift of wine and artisanal bread which was a delightful surprise! We enjoyed a brilliant hike from our doorstep across some of the most stunning scenery in the Lakes District. The peace and beauty of this spot is unique. 10 out of 10

We have had a enjoyable stay at Tongue Cottage in a beautiful location & peaceful.Sarah was very helpful with communication & clear instructions regarding our stay, although we never met, everything went smoothly with check in.The hamper of treats found on arrival was very much appreciated,.Thank you 😊 During our stay we did some beautiful Wainwright walks and the weather was good.Returning to the cottage after a day out was great, relaxing in the sunshine on the patio with a cup of tea and company of the very friendly cat.Then a soak in the beautiful copper bath with a lovely view from the bathroom window. I really felt this cottage is a great place to stay, to escape the hussle & bustle of every day life.I hope to return one day beautiful cottage ! Jayne & Will

What a beautiful cottage. One of those rare gems that ticks every box! We stayed for 5 nights and it was dreamy. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud, the huge bath overlooking the fields was so peaceful, and we even ate dinner and read our books on the grass. Cosy lounge, coffee machine, washing machine and plenty of space to store things…couldn’t fault anything. Sarah and Pete were so welcoming and friendly, we loved chatting. Highly recommended, you won’t regret it.

Beautiful home with an incredible attention to detail. So much thought has gone into making Tongue Cottage a luxurious yet welcoming experience and there aren’t enough stars! The welcome hamper was so thoughtful and Pete provided excellent hiking suggestions and is a font of knowledge about the region. In short, everything was perfect and we loved every minute of it. Thank you for opening up your home to us.

We have just returned from a five night stay and everything was perfect. Peter and Sarah met us at the cottage, showed us around and gave us some walking and restaurant recommendations.The cottage is much bigger than it looks in the photos, is spotlessly clean, tastefully renovated, very comfortable and above all very peaceful.The hamper was a lovely touch and the extras such as the log fire and stand alone bath make the experience special. The cottage has every possible amenity, all finished to a luxury standard.There is a parking space directly outside the cottage and there are many superb walks in and around the area such as Ullswater and Glenridding. There are some nice pubs within a reasonable walking distance but just as easy to drive to.We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

The cottage is lovely and you can really tell a lot of care has gone in to it! Pete was very welcoming and gave us loads of great local recommendations, including a local pizza place nearby that was perfect after a long drive. It's peaceful and private and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. We loved our stay and only wish we'd booked for longer!

The cottage was immaculate and full of character, situated in a peaceful, rural setting. Sarah & Pete gave us a warm welcome on arrival and provided us with lots of information about the local area. We appreciated the contents of an excellent 'welcome basket'. Furnishings in the cottage are very comfortable and there are lots of beautiful finishing touches, sympathetic to the style of the cottage. We had a very peaceful and restful break.

Sarah’s cottage is absolutely beautiful! We were there on our honeymoon and it was ideal. The cottage itself is immaculate and it’s situated in some of the most beautiful scenery of the Lake District. So peaceful and quiet, we absolutely loved hearing so much birdsong there too. Sarah and Pete were brilliant hosts and the photographs do not do the cottage justice it is finished to a really high standard. A great location to explore the Lakes, lots of recommended walks and local information supplied, it’s nicely tucked away and you can just sit outside and take in the views or go exploring, Ulswater is just a short drive and looks spectacular in the evening sunshine.This was our first visit to the Lake District and we are so happy we chose this gem to stay in.
