Perfect Tropical Retreat ! Words cannot describe how wonderful this villa is! Highlights include the pool & view, extremely helpful & friendly owners, staff & neighbors, fun excursions, pristine reef access for scuba & snorkeling, great local restaurants, comfortable beds and great kitchen, Wifi, AC & fans if you need them, and much, much more! We can’t wait to return. Go hold a sloth and train dolphins for a day!! Roatan is Beautiful

Perfect First timers to Roatan and really lucked out with this find. Perfectly located between both towns. Felt like a private beach. Swimming pool was great for our son. Outdoor kitchen provided a wonderful place to entertain with other guests. Local red macaws made frequent visits so you could see them each and every day a couple of times. Owner Paul has created a great space and is generous with his time and information. Our covid test day went smoothly with his help and even included a chocolate tour which helped everyone get back into the swing of things after our double nose swabs. The weather was perfect. We ate in almost every meal bit there are tons of places to eat super close or a quick water taxi or grab ride away. We felt very safe and well taken care of. I wish I would have brought eucalyptus oil which I hear is great for the no-seeums. They gobbled me up but similar to mosquitoes were really only bad at dusk and dawn. The other thing I wish I brought were goods to share with the locals. Their economy is suffering and during a cultural visit with the neighboring dive shop you get a chance to meet a village with ton of kids. Bathing suits, school supplies, toys and CANDY would have been a great thing to fill a suitcase with to share. We love to travel and see new places but I have a feeling we will be back. Oh and go now! No cruise ships! Couple tips: Snorkel far end of west bay. Past all the docks. Go out towards tall bouy. Gorgeous coral and drops off so you get to see a bunch of stuff. Circle east back to bouys and come back to beach. Go to Lilypond to have dinner and watch bats. If your camera has super slow motion do a video and let me know. Would have been cool but remembered too late. Don't get massage in west end...I'd do it in west bay. Seemed a bit more on the up and up. 15% is one tax The 18% is the tax on liquor Eldon's did take a credit card and did not charge me an extra tax or fee. Tutrle beach was already full for next February. Their guests are devoted so don't wait to book.

Spectacular !!! Turtle Beach is what you imagine a Caribbean vacation could be.Not a resort, a villa ! Not near the beach, right on the beack ! Leave your shoes at home. Paul your host is always looking to improve your experience. He even loaned me his guitar for the two weeks. Mary the site manager issuper friendly and super efficient. Carlos, handles maintainence and follows through on every request. Rosa is the friendliest room person you could possible meet. All water sports are available through Clearwater Diving which is steps from your front door and Denisse, the owner, is charming, super attentive and will customize any sports or tour package to meet your needs. Ask Paul to lay in some groceries, beer etc to your unit before you get there. I just makes it so much nicer when you get there. There are fancy and causual restaurants a short walk down the beach and you can also walk along the beach to either West Bay or West end in the other direction. The sunsets are absolutely to die for, Absolutely the best vacation for your money !

Rescued in Paradise I was among many stuck abroad in Honduras during the start of the pandemic. Paul (owner) and his staff welcomed us in with open arms, generous rates, and help to and from the grocery store. The kindness they shared truly was a life-saver, as we would not have had the same experience anywhere else. Their property is gorgeous- the photos don't do it justice. Picture a luxury treehouse villa in the jungle that overlooks one of the most pristine reefs left on the planet. Just in front of the villas, we swam with sea turtles, eagle rays, and colorful fish. The sunsets are unparalleled- with plenty of overlooks to sip a glass of wine and watch the warm colors settle on the horizon. Private pools, a private beach, kayaks, paddle boards, are just some amenities you'll enjoy here. I can't wait to come back and show my family and friends where I was "marooned" during the start of COVID. Thank you Turtle Beach.

Awesome holiday at Turtle Beach We recently returned from a wonderful 3 week stay in the Turtle cabin. When we booked initially we were expecting to stay in a small studio but were happily surprised to arrive and find the cabin had been renovated to include a lovely sitting area and a screened in porch. This gave us much more space to spread out inside and we ate all meals on the porch. The cabin is set back in the complex so is nicely quiet & private. It is an easy route to a lovely beach with plenty of loungers and well groomed sand. As well there is a lovely dock where we spent many moments having drinks and catching some sun. We frequently used the inflatables to enjoy floating in the ocean in front of the complex which was perfect way to beat the heat. The observation deck is a perfect place to watch unobstructed sunsets or just lay out & off the sand to relax. The pool was perfect to cool off and still enjoy the ocean view. The property is beautiful and well cared for. Paul, Mary, Rosa & Carlos were very helpful and always making sure we had anything we required. The mosquitoes were an issue this year but Paul was always reminding us to wear our bug stuff and he fogged the area several times in an effort to curb to problem. The location of Turtle Beach is perfect midway between West Bay & West End. We walked one way or the other (or both) every day although the trip to West End is a bit more challenging as you’re required to go over some rocky outcroppings. The water taxi is readily available if you decide not to walk. We had a few meals in either WB or WE but had most at the cabin. We were able to make a stop at the store on the trip from the airport so were able to get most groceries we required but we picked up bits & pieces from mini-marts in WE & WB. There is also a small store just steps up the beach to pick up beer & pop which was so handy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turtle a Beach and would recommend it to anyone. Perfect! Just what we were looking for in a vacation! Turtle Beach checked all the blocks: great accommodations, very attentive staff (many thanks Paul, Mary, Rosa, Carlos and Larry!), close to restaurants yet far away from the crowds! And right on the beach! Wouldn’t have changed a thing, well, except for the weather the first 2 days. Lol. But that didn’t stop us from exploring! Can’t wait to go back!

This is a place I will return every year This is a small resort. Each family has their own cabin. It is right on the beach. There are no high rises around. Snorkeling is outstanding as is diving - with the dive shop just down the beach. Great restaurants nearby. It is quiet and friendly.

Perfect quiet seclusion yet close enough to everything! A very delayed review from our stay in January of 2019. Paul and Mary are terrific, as are the many friends they had come down for the week. This little resort gave us the quiet seclusion we love, yet just a brief walk to West End and West Bay. Grocery stores are a little ways away, but Paul & Mary are such gracious hosts all you have to do is tell them what you would like picked up and they, or one of their drivers or friends, will pick it up for you and drop it at your door, just pay for it when you see them! We went into most (all?) of the cabins when we were there and they were all just wonderful. We will be back! Much love to y'all, and sorry for being so ridiculously late with this review! GREAT RESORT AND GREAT DIVE LOCATION Had an outstanding week there as my 2 grandsons achieved their Jr Scuba Certs. The dive shop was a short 50yd walk, it was extremely convenient!! As a diver, it doesn't get any easier than that when diving twice a day. Even without the diving it is a beautiful resort and getaway. The couple restaurants close by were an easy walk also and great food, just a bit expensive, it's worth hitting the grocery store after leaving the airport for some basic supplies. Also just a short water taxi to either West Bay or West End....just doesn't get any easier than that for a superb week with your family, not to mention the huge goal that got achieved by the boys. Paul and his team were fabulous hosts and really made us feel at home and well cared for! Thanks so much Paul!!!

This place is fantastic! We stayed at Mayan Villa in July 2019. It is a nicely appointed 2 bedroom 2 bath villa with a killer ocean view. The beds were comfortable, a/c in the bedrooms works well. There is a kitchen with a full sized refrigerator/freezer. We made most of our breakfasts and lunches in the unit. There is a big deck with a pool right in front of the unit and the beach is right at the bottom of the stairs, 30 seconds from our door. Turtle beach is a small resort with only 11 units. It is a pretty quiet place. We got to know the other guests! Everyone was really nice. The personal attention from Paul, Larry and Mary made us feel very welcomed. They were happy to help us with anything we needed. Paul saved us big $ on an excursion ( we watched other people pay $35 more per ticket ) and even gave us a ride to town. Turtle beach is located about halfway between West Bay and West End. The water taxi was very easy to pick up from their dock, 3$ pp each way during the day, 5$ at night. It is a great location because it is close to the action but away from the crowds. The beach feels almost private. We never saw anyone walking by trying to sell you anything stuff. There is a nice palapa at the end of the dock with a hammock and some chairs and another on the top level sun deck. Lots of good places to hang out and get some sun(or shade) They have beach chairs out front, kayaks, stand up paddle boards and snorkel gear, all free to use anytime you want to. There is also some really good snorlkling right off the beach out front. It's pretty shallow, with nice corals and lots of fish to see. Overall it was a grea experience for us. If you are into huge hotels with tons of people and pools and restaurants around this might not be the place for you. If you like it a little more chill, you will love it there.

Great Family Dive Vacation We were a family of seven travelling with five teenagers ages 14-20. Most of us were there to dive with Clearwater Dive Shop which I highly recommend and wrote a separate review for. They were amazing. Paul, Mary, Larry and Rosa were perfect host. They go over and above to make your stay perfect. We rented the Myan villa for five of us. It has a queen bedroom and in the second bedroom a queen and a single. It had two bathrooms and everything you need from beach towels, some spices in the kitchen and a large enough space that it was never crowded. Our oldest two sons stayed in Turtle Beach Cabin and my Aunt stayed in Crabby Cabin. Studio cabins just behind ours that they loved. My inlaws stayed in the lobster cabin right on the beach. We all hung out there on their beautiful front porch which had room for all ten of us. The communal kitchen was great for our group and the second pool is right beside it. We used the kitchen three out of seven nights. We picked up ground beef to make burgers and fries one night, and we bought snapper and shrimp from their local fish guy. Very cheap and delicious. For families...make a list and pick up everything you need on your way from the airport. The store had everything to make all your breakfast and lunches at the resort. We brought all our snacks/chips/protein bars/Gatorade powder from home to save some money. Also, bring good bug spray/Benadryl and after bite lotion. You don’t feel the bugs biting but they can feel annoying the next day. As for dinner, we loved to walk so we walked to West End and West Bay when going out for dinner. Bring flashlights. The walk from West End in the dark can be a bit challenging with the rocks but wear good shoes and be in decent shape. Not great for little kids. My inlaws and aunt just paid the $5 each and took the water taxi everywhere at night. A large family is on a budget so our favourites were Sunset Hideaway in West Bay on Monday for the 3/$17 lobster special, Thirsty Turtle had good pizza special 2/$20 and Ginger’s and Calelus in West End was great cheaper food, I also recommend getting some take out chicken in West End at Eddy’s or Creole Chicken. We picked up two chickens and made quesadillas and tacos for lunch a couple days. Overall. It’s a great place to stay. Lots of activities for all to do, kayaking, paddle boarding, great snorkelling right there, fantastic dive shop and a nice quiet beach with perfect sunsets. Best Place To Stay Paul and Mary were great hosts who take excellent care of their property. We had a two bedroom / two bathroom villa with a small kitchenette that included pots, pans, plates and al the utensils we needed. We had a pool, which was cleaned at least twice a day on our "front porch" and we measured the distance to the beach in steps. There were snorkel and kayak available. Paul and Mary co=ordinated rides by both water taxi and land taxi for us with safe, reputable drivers who spoke English. Can't recommend a place with higher honors.

Incredible views and exceptional hospitality Paul and Mary were unbelievably helpful. They went above and beyond for every need we had. Paul was extremely helpful and friendly when I missed my flight out of Roatan and he offered to help me figure out what to do. Plus, both Paul and Mary were kind and easy to talk to. Paul and Mary deserve 5 stars on their own. But the property is truly incredible. We had 180 degree views of the ocean, a private beach to swim at, and it was tucked away from the hustle and bustle of West End and West Bay. Such an incredible trip and experience here! I plan on coming back here every time I stay in Roatan!

Turtle Beach Turtle beach was incredible!!! Amazing views, the rooms were so beautiful, accommodations more than satisfying. The hosts were incredibly hospitable and gave great recommendations for things to do around the island!!

Heavenly retreat I just finished a Women's Retreat with R Church. We felt very welcomed and really enjoyed the ambiance of this very tropical resort. The beautiful rooms had a lot of special tropical touches. Everywhere you looked through out the resort is wood carvings and beautiful paintings. Thank you Paul, Mary and Larry for a memorable and beautiful piece of Paradise!

Best Location Ever in West Bay! Paul and Mary, Blessed our retreat with their commitment to taking care of some 30 crazy women this weekend. There are two beautiful swimming pools that overlook the Caribbean Sea, and the majority of Villas have a sea view as well. My roomie and I were in the Crab Villa, A one bedroom with a Queen size bed, bathroom with shower, air conditioning, fans, and a kitchenette with stove and microwave. The setting is so peaceful and private on the hill where they are located. It is amazing how they have constructed all of these villas and the walking paths that connect them all together, it is so easy to get around the property. If you would rather take a dip in the sea, a beautiful early morning/sunset walk on the beach, or sit in the pool and relax it is all there for you. There are numerous paintings in each villa and around the resort painted by Roatan Nancy, a local artist, and she is amazing! There are hundreds of flowering bushes and trees such as palm, coconut, mango, banana all over the place. We had the gift of having three gorgeous Scarlet Macaws land in a tree next to the resort for our pleasure...Wow! This place would be wonderful for couples or families, you will not be disappointed!

Great resort to get away and relax Turtle Beach Hotel is a great property on Roatan Island. Conveniently located between West Bay and West End, it is easy to get to either location by walking, water taxi or motor vehicle. Paul and his staff where very nice and they took great care of any of our needs. Very relaxing location away for all the tourism. If you want a relaxing vacation with family and friends away from the large resorts and crowds, this is the perfect place. Highly recommend Turtle Beach to anyone traveling to Roatan.

A great Beach location with excellent customer service Just got a great tour of the Island from the owner. The property is awesome and the service is even better. Located on a great spot near one of the best beaches in the world.

We felt like family at Turtle Beach We just returned from 10 days at Turtle Beach and we can't say enough. The location is amazing because you are right between the two nicest parts of the island and can enjoy both ends and at the same time get away from all the noise and tourists. Paul, the owner (and His family Mary and Larry) were so good to us. Paul even drove Jeff to a clinic nearby when he slipped and hurt his hand on some rocks. After the clinic stop Paul gave us a tour of the island. The property itself is beautifully landscaped and sits in a nice quiet beautiful stretch of beach with great snorkeling right there from the beach. Really we couldn't have asked for more. We can't wait to go back and continue exploring this beautiful island and see all the friends we made! Thanks again Paul, Mary and Larry!!!

Paradise at Turtle Beach We stayed at Turtle beach from July 3 to July 10 2018. What can I say but bravo to the owner Paul for giving us a place that is not only breathtaking but so peaceful you feel relaxed within minutes of your arrival. We stayed at the Seahorse which is a one bedroom treehouse style villa. It was perfect for 2 people, fully equipped and air conditioning worked well even though we used the celing fan more because of the fantastic breeze. It is very centrally located between West End for partying and food and West Bay for the beautiful beach. We prefered West End a little bit cheaper than West Bay. Mary is always there to lend a hand and give you a great conversation all about the island she rocks. Carlos gardener handyman and everything in between keeps that place in ship shape he really works hard my hat goes off to him. I did not get to meet Larry Maria or Rosa but if they are anything like the rest of them this is the perfect team. Pool is nice but that dock is something to be admired. Tips I learned 1. Bug spray morning noon and night it is the jungle and they have bugs that bite in Roatan most important thing I learned thanks again Mary. 2. Roatan has one of the highest energy costs in the world be resectful of this and turn things off when not there. 3. Bring Lempiras over us dollars much easier to pay with because you dont have to figure out the conversion. 4. Negotiate your taxi before getting in I made that mistake and it cost me 20 us instead of 10. 5. Enjoy enjoy relax and have fun. 6. Listen to the advice from Paul and Mary they are awesome people and will make your stay perfection.
