Valor Behavioral Health provided me with a supportive environment that played a crucial role in my recovery journey. From the moment I stepped through their doors, I was met with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) model offered a valuable framework for my personal growth.

I particularly valued the group therapy sessions, where I found strength and connection with others. The opportunity to share my experiences and learn from others was invaluable. I actively participated in these sessions, working to maintain a professional level of communication.

Throughout my time at Valor, I also focused on my personal growth goals, including maintaining sobriety and setting goals for my future. I documented my gratitude for Valor Behavioral Health in my daily gratitude lists, as I truly appreciated the care and support I received.

Valor Behavioral Health is a place where I felt supported and empowered to take steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I arrived not knowing what I might need to do to get well again. I left feeling relieved and determined!

As a professional and certified integrative coach with 3 and 3/4 years of recovered substance use disorder, I can attest to the efficacy of Valor Behavioral Health's approach. Their supportive environment and therapeutic modalities were instrumental in my continued recovery and personal growth.

Valor Behavioral Health has been a blessing for me. From begining to end the process was amazing. From the time I spoke to intake, during the intake process, treatment, and housing, all the way through my graduation I was satisfied and greatful. I knew I had found my place to start my higher journey. They have the best clinical team available and for that I am thankful. I truly owe my life to this program and would highly recommend giving them a call if you ever find yourself in need

My time at Valor was life changing. My first week was rough but the staff and the community made me feel safe and loved. The community at Valor is like no other, i made life long friends along the way that i’m truly going to miss. They are dedicated to changing lives and helping with substance abuse and mental health. Wouldn’t be where i am today without this program and for that i’ll forever be grateful. Valor gave me a second chance & changed my perspective on life and it’s bittersweet to be done with the program. Wanna give a shoutout to the amazing staff for their dedication to helping others with addiction. I am now almost 4 months sober and i came out of the program the BEST version of me! Thank you Valor for being a part of my sobriety journey ❤️

Called in for help just for the admission guy to just hang up in my face during my crisis!! He was rude and acted like he didn’t even care about what I had to say about what i was going through.

As everything in life, there are ups and downs, but residing here, there were a lot less downs than other places. Beside being sober, there were more wins each day as long as I stayed to my goals. The mind will open. The habits will improve. The future will lose some of its pain. I went to Valor, but now I have valor. Shout out to the house man T for holding it down in the face of a tornado of clients. Beast mode.

I recently attended Valor Behavioral Health for mental health treatment, but unfortunately, my experience was overwhelmingly negative. While I had hoped to find support and healing, I encountered several major issues. After serving 20 years in the United States Air Force I have PTSD, Depression and Anxiety and I was very hopeful to receive help from Valor but it ended up being a total waste of 3 months of my time, money, and energy.

The quality of care was subpar, with classes that were unengaging and unhelpful. However, my main concerns were with the administrative team, who were consistently unprofessional and unresponsive. Even more alarming, I witnessed staff members engaging in inappropriate relationships with clients, which is a serious ethical violation.

Furthermore, I suspect that the facility may be engaging in insurance fraud, which is not only illegal but also a betrayal of trust.

What's even more disturbing is that many of the positive reviews I've seen online appear to be fake, written by actual staff members themselves. This lack of transparency and integrity further erodes trust in an already deeply flawed institution.

Overall, I would strongly advise others to explore alternative options for mental health treatment. There are likely better, more reputable facilities that can provide the support and care you deserve.

Entering treatment was one of the hardest yet most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. It wasn’t just about breaking old habits—it was about rewiring my thoughts, rediscovering my purpose, and truly wanting to change my ways.

There were difficult moments, times when the weight of it all felt unbearable, but I reminded myself that this wasn’t a sprint—it was a marathon. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, and every challenge I faced only strengthened my resolve.

Treatment didn’t just save me; it gave me a new perspective on life. I’ve learned that growth is a continuous process, and while the road ahead may still have its obstacles, I now have the tools, the mindset, and the determination to move forward. If you’re hesitant or afraid to take that first step, know that it’s worth it. You are worth it

Valor changed me for the better. I came in a scared girl, not sure of who she was, I had so much trauma from therapy and life in general. They allowed me space to heal, connect with others and find my purpose. I had a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and mental health, I am now 4 months sober, I never knew this was possible, I abused substances for 8 years. I will forever be grateful for my progress I made here.

Many of these prior reviews are from staff, others during my stay posted similarly negative reviews to mine that have since disappeared without a replacement in the positive, and were quickly replaced with a wave of good reviews. Take that as you will. - I want to add that I was at the program last year and things could have changed to preface this. I attended for psych exclus.

Program regularly lied to people, particularly out of state patients, about available treatment in order to get them as a patient (eg- “bringing in” outside professionals)
Program did not follow proper procedure for trauma informed post traumatic growth model of care.

This facility prioritizes the “ones who nobody else will help”. This seems good, until a predator is present or an extremely aggressive person with active abusive behaviors is perpetuating that harm during their stay.

Valor allowed a child predator into trauma processing groups with survivors of similar, all while they were consistently OPENLY sexually pursuing folks in group. I processed something identical to what they did with them in the room. They once described their “type” in group that was their exact victim profile. Staff knew this, staff heard this and staff was present for much of the pursuit. allowed it because “there was an attempt to grow”. I gave this person out of program resources, and it was ALLOWED because “they’re not functional enough to pursue”.

The 2nd had active abusive behaviors and major anger issues, their recovery was CONSISTENTLY prioritized over the recovery of others because “they’re trying and people who do these things often don’t try”. Not only did this persons direct, inexcusably aggressive actions fling myself and others into PTSD episodes/general trauma response in groups multiple times, but the treatment team (particularly Jacob and the program owner) treated this as a teaching moment and a good thing rather than a sign that someone’s behaviors required a higher level of care as to not impact the treatment of the majority present. It’s disgusting.

Program integrated guilting and a level of manipulation into their care model. Every therapist was burnt out, and sexism was tolerated by therapists. The program SEEMS more queer informed than they are, they do better than others but there is a deeply uncomfortable undertone I felt as a transmasculine individual that was noticed by others, particularly in Jacob (cis gay man who seemed to think he’s incapable of bias towards others in his community or harmful action incl sexism due to his queer status.) Others I know had to seek further care to undo the damage done by Jacob in particular. Think tough love without consideration of impact, if you were a survivor of the TTI You know what I mean.

Any attempts to bring up my personal concerns were met with dismissal, or redirection onto my past trauma as a cause. I may have been traumatized by a residential facility in my teens, but that does not leave me incapable of processing bullshit that others who did not have my history also noticed. + weaponizing survivors past experiences to downplay your own harm is DISGUSTING, and not something a truly trauma informed facility would EVER do. The only thing that helped me during my stay was discussion with other patients, to a point where we were basically taking aspects of each others treatment into our own hands to a point that was UNACCEPTABLE. It’s an environment ripe for the formation of codependency. Turnover rate for staff is very, VERY high and it’s clear why. Ethical professionals don’t run like this, it doesn’t take someone with a degree to understand that. Not like the owner gets that, he pulled out the “who here has the qualifications” card to a few of us as if we are incapable of reading and understanding the widely accesible generally published standards they as a facility are expected to meet to be considered ethical. It doesn’t take a degree to understand that, or process empirical data of the harms of certain methods. Do better, or admit you’re a cash grab.

I was lost before I got to valor. But I was able to find myself thanks to the staff and everyone involved. I learned a lot there, and I would recommend anyone To try it out and give it a shot if you struggle with substance abuse or mental health. Everyone there is really nice and I also made a lot of good friends there. It’s never too late for anyone to get help and if there’s a way you can go to valor, you should definitely go.

my time at valor has changed my life. i came to valor desperate and ready for change in my life. the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about substance use disorder and mental health and want you to succeed. you will get out of this program what you put into it. Jacob, the clinical director was always very helpful and respectful. Dalena, my primary therapist was by far the best therapist i’ve ever had - very knowledgeable and held me accountable, which i needed. with the help of valor and my 4 months at the program, i have a better grip on my sobriety journey. if you’re looking for a supportive staff and a nice place to start your sobriety journey or get help with your mental health in the atlanta area, valor is the best place to be !!!

DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!
I reached out with a concern regarding my child being without two medications for 5 days. Unable to leave a message when you do no one returns your call. I spoke to someone in person gave details and was ensured someone would call me. I’m still waiting for the call.

Here are some facts for those thinking of using this place...DONT!!!!

1/20 - Arrived to Valor
1/23 - Text from my child that he had not had a meal since he arrived. He was eating snacks from a care package I sent prior to his arrival. I sent him money so he could get food.
1/27 - text from my child that he took his last dosage of Remeron and Buspar on 1/23. Please go look up the recommendations on these medications when you suddenly stop taking them. I called the "house supervisor" and left a message no return call. I called the 800 main line spoke to Misty explained everything. She stated they would make sure a release was on file as my child is over 18 and someone would call me.....never happened.

I did not sleep that night and my gut as a mom said get him the hell out of there. I had him leave and come home that morning. He left at 8:30 and NO ONE called until 1:40 in the afternoon to let me know that they did not know where he was.

After speaking to my son he had been rationing the food he bought and eating once a day. They only go to the food bank on the weekend and he arrived on a Monday so I suppose they starve until the weekend.

If I could give this facility 0 stars I would without hesitation. The majority of the staff are completely unqualified to be in this line of work and when faced with issues they respond by blaming the client themselves and being indignant. Unprofessional comments are made by BHTs, case managers and therapists on a regular basis and certain employees play favorites by allowing and almost encouraging certain clients to break rules while they punish others for breaking them. They receive clients from residential treatment centers across the state without getting approvals from insurance companies and then ask them to leave when insurance denies costs. This place has no business operating at the level and capacity that it does, if at all.

My addiction is my responsibility. That being said, I’ve tried for years to get a handle on it and, until now, have been unsuccessful. The amazing program at Valor- the respectful and knowledgeable therapists, the support and time they put in, the skills and lessons they tech for both mental health and substance use are better than I’ve ever experienced. I’d recommend Valor to everyone I love who needs it as I know it works.

As a family member of someone who received care at Valor, I cannot express enough gratitude for the compassionate, professional, and transformative experience they provided. From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff made us feel welcome and understood. They listened to our concerns, answered every question with patience, and ensured that we felt like true partners in our loved one’s care journey.

The facility itself is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed to create a safe and calming environment. It’s clear that every detail—from the layout to the resources provided—was carefully considered with the patients’ well-being in mind.

What impressed me most was the individualized approach to treatment. The team didn’t rely on a one-size-fits-all model; instead, they tailored a care plan that addressed my loved one’s specific needs and challenges. The combination of evidence-based therapies, group sessions, and life skills training gave my nephew the tools he needed to thrive not only during his time at the facility but also after returning home.

Communication was another standout feature. The staff kept us informed every step of the way, offering updates on progress and suggestions for how we could best support our loved one. They even provided resources and guidance for our family, helping us better understand the healing process and our role in it.

It’s rare to find a place that blends clinical excellence with genuine human kindness, but Valor does just that. I am forever grateful for the care they provided to my family and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of behavioral health services. They’ve not only helped my nephew find hope and stability but have also brought our family closer together.

Thank you, Valor for your dedication, empathy, and unwavering support. You truly make a difference.
