Good ☺ The location and view was incredible! Also how the house is furnished is very nice and modern. The host who greeted us was super sweet! ☹ We booked the last room on the website. The room was great and very comfortable but very small for 2 people with luggage. We had no view unfortunately. And we had to walk down with 2 heavy suitcases with many stairs to get down to our room which they gave us for the night! We noticed that they had many other rooms available that night and we would have liked to have been given the option to upgrade to a bigger room with a view. Also we wished that the breakfast could have been served earlier and not at 9am as we had to leave at 8am. There was no milk available when i wanted to make coffee so I had to opt for black coffee instead. No biggy. But its a great property non the less with amazing views!

The house is so lovely, there’s a full kitchen so you can make your own meals (although movie starts would have their own chef! But this can be arranged if you want!)…. Simply breathtaking We had a simply wonderful time at the Cloudhouse. The house itself is beautiful with spectacular views over Lake Como. The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious for the 14 of us, and the house managers were brilliant, always attentive and helpful. I can't recommend this house highly enough, and the whole process with Barbara the owner to book and prepare was excellent. The house managers Luiggi, Daniel and Maria attended to our every need and were very responsive to anything that needed attention. We had a fabulous holiday in a beautiful house, at a stunning location with first class care. We ranged in age from 3 months to 60 years and the house was great for each and every one of us. Thank you, it was a super holiday to treasure for all of us young and old!

The rooms are very well appointed, beautifully dressed and the beds the same quality as some of the best hotels in the world. We slept extremely well, sinking into the comfortable beds. The hosts went above and beyond for us! The sauna and pool overlook the stunning Lake Como as well. Such a treat. Luxury in its finest form. Location Location Location with superb view overlooking Lake Como. Unique villa restored to it's late 1960's style and decor. Enjoyed a very relaxing, peaceful few days with short drives to local towns for great cuisine and walks. Thanks to our gracious host Barbara for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful place, responsive hosts, historic Villa Ponti on the hill of Lake Como, wonderful scenic views of nature, I especially recommend it to those who like walking in the mountains. Loved the pool and sauna overlooking the lake. The Villa works on sustainability and green thinking. It's like home here. The service staff works seamlessly. We spent our holidays here for the third time, and I hope we will be back next year, Thank You so much!

Een adembenemend zicht op Lago di Como en een befaamde architect. Tot zover de positieve punten van ons recent verblijf in Villa Ponti Bellavista. Deze villa wordt vermoedelijk meestal in z’n geheel verhuurd en bij onderbezetting als hotelkamer. Van hotelfunctie is echter in het geheel geen sprake. 3 overnachtingen in een gedateerde kamer en badkamer, met ondermaatse douche. Ontbijt blijkt niet beschikbaar, ook een eenvoudige koffie ‘s ochtends, noch een fles water met glazen in de kamer zijn voorzien. Kamer wordt niet opgemaakt, geen verse lakens, geen propere handdoeken en niet geleegde vuilbakjes sinds dag van aankomst. Keuken en leefruimte zijn verondersteld gemeenschappelijk te zijn, echter werden we daar meteen buiten gekeken. De hele villa is toe aan een grondige opsmuk, lees: aanpassingen aan huidige verwachtingen van reizigers die enige luxe gewend zijn. 1022€ voor 3 overnachtingen zonder enige service is pure afperserij. Ook de prachtige foto’s online zijn duidelijk gemaakt door een handige fotograaf die zeer goed is in fotoshoppen. Besluit: meer dan 1000€ voor een kamer in een gedateerde villa zonder zelfs de eenvoudigste service is afzetterij van de zuiverste soort. Om met 1 positief punt af te sluiten: het zicht is waanzinnig (als je kamer aan de juiste kant van de villa ligt tenminste).

I'm so sorry you were so disappointed with your stay and that you thought the villa 'dated'. It IS dated, an original 1960s mid-century villa. We clearly market ourselves that way and are proud of the history of the villa. None of the photos were photo shopped. Most guests who arrive are awed and tell us that the reality is far more breathtaking than the photos can convey. I'm sorry about the 'sub-standard shower', I would very much appreciate knowing in what way? However, I completely understand many of the points you made. In fact another guest made the same two points, about no breakfast or maid service in the rooms. I have taken this in and just today have found someone who can come each day to provide breakfast for room guests and also provide a maid service in the rooms. So your feedback has been invaluable. To be fair, when people book on BDC we specifically prepared an email template explaining that we are not a hotel because people have arrived and been unhappy not to find hotel services. But I guess people don't always read their welcome email. We have now changed this template to reflect the change in our services, thanks to your important feedback! We appreciate you taking the time to write about your experience. We are new to this room rental trial, and as a result of your feedback, we are now learning from our first two weeks offering rooms. Your honesty is invaluable for us going forward, so again, thank you.

Wonderful ☺ No breakfast was available. ☹ I was unaware that we did not have an en suite bathroom! I feel the room Lacked a few details such as a headboard and perhaps bottled water to welcome us! However, the view from Our room was spectacular!

Thanks for your review Pamela. We normally only rent the villa as entire self-catering holiday rental, not rooms, so we're not set up to provide meals, which is specified in our listing. In fact we haven't rented rooms since 2019 but thought to try it for two weeks this summer. We plan headboards for the two remaining bedrooms over winter. we're glad you enjoyed the spectacular view from your room and hope to see you again some time.
