He's done 2 great services for me before, but I think they're struggling to get staff at the moment so there was a delayed collection. But then they did collect and did a great job.

He's done 2 great services for me before, but this time he didn't collect on the day I booked, the phone is not picking up and email responses are sporadic and non-committal (and the bike still isn't collected). It's a real shame because I loved the service when I used him previously.

I’ve created an account purely to share how terrible my service was. I’ve use Voncrank before and they were okay, but after my last service I’ve been left with an unusable bike and no one has responded to my calls or texts for several weeks now. I would say avoid like the plague but they now appear to have temporarily closed. If they ever reopen don’t be tempted - go elsewhere.

I booked a service, paid a deposit and scheduled a pick up. I received confirmation by email however I never received any communication on the day and no one came to collect my bike. I've attempted to contact the company multiple times but have had no response. Look elsewhere.

I had my bike taken away last week to be serviced and told them specifically that the gears were slipping, got the bike back and still have the same issue, I have text, emailed and tried calling to see if they can resolve this issue but no one replies and I'm pretty sure they have now blocked my number.
Not the service I would expect for £80!!!
Won't use them again

Bike back 70% worse than when it went in.The breaks screech loudly, all my gears are off kilter, and my bike hisses and squeaks when riding it. The worst bit, no-one is contactable - so I've paid £50 to have by new bike broken and there's literally nothing i can do about it. Really upsetting.

I start from the position that the vast majority of customers don't bother leaving reviews. Given the van that picked up my bike had 15 bikes and let's be conservative and say that half were pick ups and half were to be dropped off (although unlikely as my house was last on the round at c 3pm given I am relatively close to HQ) that implies they are doing 7-10 bikes a day. Even taking the whole of the weekend off that means 35-50 bikes taken in PER WEEK. At the time of writing (May 21) there are only just over 50 reviews on here. To me this means that the vast majority of customers are happy - nothing to complain about at all. They wanted their bike fixed/serviced and it was.
My road bike needed a full service. Every bike shop for miles around (big boys like Halfords and Evans or the smaller local bike shops) was bunged up for weeks - the EARLIEST slot I could get was with a Halfords in 5 weeks' time.
I'd never heard of Von Crank - simply Googled them. They could pick up in 36 hours! The emails were great and the notification of pick up slot was excellent. Only after my bike had gone and my wife (a born pessimist) asked if I had read any reviews did I even look on here. My, some people are really not happy - but as per my calculation above - these must be a tiny minority of cases.
Bike picked up on a Thursday, driver says it will be back next "Tuesday or Wednesday". On Monday I receive an email, the dreaded "waiting for a part" email of doom.... The very next day I got an email with the bill and confirmation that the bike would be delivered the next working day after payment!
So all in all a not very exciting story. They did exactly what they said they would do. I paid an agreed price and got my bike fixed and serviced far quicker than waiting for a bike shop.
This is why not many people leave reviews - however I am a very happy customer and will use them again.

Atrocious service - spent GBP131 on my service and bike came back and the front gear set no longer works I'll need to oil the gear set myself as its now squeaking (Wasnt before service). Emailed multiple times and tried calling every day for 2 weeks now and always engaged and no response. Couldn't recommend less. Going to have to pay for another service from someone

Be prepared to lose your main mode of transport for a month.
Remember, their website states you’ll get your bike back within 24 - 72 hours.
My Trek carbon frame and rear wheel was picked up on 17th March (a Wednesday). The bike collector said that due to a backlog, it would be looked at the following Monday. This already made the website promise null and void. I spoke to a mechanic that following week and was quoted £180 for parts and labour, which seemed reasonable as the crankset alone would cost around £100. I was told that due to the pandemic, parts were arriving slowly but they should arrive the following week.
Two weeks after receipt of my bike, I had had no updates on its progress or the parts arriving. I made 46 calls over 2 days from 10am to 5pm (the line went straight to voicemail after 5pm so I gave up). I left voicemails to call me back, messages on the webchat and emailed. The only person that did pick up the phone (on day 2) was Mark, the bike collector, whose mobile number I had from him calling to say he was on his way to pick up my bike. He said he would pass on a text message about my complaint, which I duly sent, however no one contacted me for an update. When I had told him that I had not been able to speak to any staff member, he stated “Oh shit” repeatedly, which demonstrated to me that this was a known issue. This is also borne about by poor reviews of Von Crank across various review sites.
On day 3 Kieran picked up the phone and was completely indifferent to my fury, stating “There’s only one of me”, with regard to picking up the phone. However, he had no response to why I had not been contacted despite utilising every single mode of contacting Von Crank. He claimed that I must have been calling when he was busy on another call. Considering that I spread out my 46 calls over the course of 2 days, this was clearly a lie. He also stated that they wanted to get my repair completed because it was ‘taking up space’. They only had my frame (weighing less than a kilo) and one tyre.
I got rid of my previous bike thinking I would be back on the road within a week.
It took another 12 unanswered calls before Kieran picked up on the 9th of April He was unable to confirm the total cost of the work, stating they would “look after me” with the price as I had been waiting so long. He stated that the bottom bracket had been ordered 2 weeks AFTER they had received the bike. This was indicative of the their attitude to their work, where the actual repair I had booked via the site in the first place was not prioritised.
I spoke to Kieran on the 16th of April. He said he had called me earlier in the week and left a message to say my bike was ready. I had not received any such message, and was astounded that having not responded to this ‘phantom’ communication, I had not been texted or emailed this news.
My bike was returned to me on the 16th of April and although the workmanship of the repair was adequate the whole experience from start to finish was a nightmare.
I have been forced to use public transport in a global pandemic where I had been able to use my bike to circumvent this in most instances.
At times I felt like my own property had been ‘stolen’ from me as I was unable to ascertain what had happened to it. I am astounded that the majority of reviews have been pretty glowing, however I now wish I had checked more review sites as I can see that my horrific experience has been mirrored by other customers.
Lesson learned.
From now on I’ll be taking my bike to a shop where I can speak to staff face to face if I need to chase up its status. You have been warned!

Simple to use and quick with great communication. They called to discuss the issues found and potential solutions, but did not over-fix, meaning the cost was good. I will definitely use again and recommend.
