I had Ian as my driving instructor and he was friendly and understanding when teaching me how to drive, with lots of handouts helping me with all of the fundamental driving skills. This helped me gain a significant amount of confidence when driving as I was very nervous when I first started learning to drive! He was also very flexible when booking lessons which was very helpful. Would highly recommend and thanks Ian for all the help with teaching me!

I learnt with Alan after having a previous instructor which was not working for me. I never thought I would be able to drive or pass my test but after having lessons with Alan, I passed first time! I genuinely couldn't recommend him more! I learnt later in life which felt harder but Alan was incredibly patient, kind and really enjoyed my lessons (something I never thought I would say!!). Definitely can not fault any of my experience with Amigos and would 110% recommend if you want to learn!

Harry had a great experience learning to drive with Ian. He’s a really down to earth guy who made Harry feel at ease. He was patient, friendly and flexible with Harry’s schedule. Harry really enjoyed his teaching style which gave him confidence and led to him passing with just one minor. Definitely recommend to others in the Southampton area.

I have been learning to drive since 2018 and through a variety of circumstances have had four driving instructors in 3 cities. Amigos lives up to it's name, being a good and friendly company. My instructor, Alan, is by far the best instructor I've had (one of the other three I would rate highly, the other ones weren't the right fit for me). Alan is excellent at being patient whilst also paying attention to my idiosyncratic difficulties in learning to drive, and identified how to solve them and help me feel confident behind the wheel. So much so that I passed my test in a city in which I had never driven before (once again, circumstances). From the start I had been saying "I want to learn to drive safely even more than I want to pass the test", and now I feel confident I can do both.

Very good experience and thankful for Alan my driving instructor who took the time to teach me how to drive. Very friendly and attentive instructor. 10/10 experience I couldn’t have chose a better instructor.

As his first hearing impaired student Alan is genuinely the best driving instructor ever as he always teach and support to make solutions to whatever I made any mistakes including my hearing mistakes and provides tips, also tracks my progression of my strength and weakness in driving skills, even with my hard of hearing disability, he’s very easy to understand and communicate well so I highly recommend try Alan if you are hearing impaired person or hard of hearing

I learnt with Alan, and I can honestly say he is the nicest, kindest, most patient instructor in the UK and probably the whole world. I passed first time yesterday, and I owe it to his brilliant and clear instruction. He has a great sense of humour, he is so incredibly calm (even in the face of the great dangers I frequently put him in!) and he genuinely cares about all of his students. I really couldn’t recommend him more!

Excellent service. I would absolutely recommend to learners or people with driving experience from abroad. My instructor (Alan) was patient and understanding. He used several learning aids and a program to get you through all aspects of driving. I passed at the first attempt with only 2 minors.

Having driving lessons with Ian at Amigos Driving School was a great pleasure! I am so grateful for Ian as my instructor. He was understanding, patient, calm and provided feedback, teaching and instructions in a constructive and approachable manner. From the very start of our lessons I was greeted with a very positive ambiance and was able to build a good relationship as instructor and student which helped in all future lessons regarding feedback, what I need to work on and what I’m doing well. Ian has so much knowledge and experience it was a joy working with him and learning from him. I felt extremely prepared and supported not only for my driving test but also for all lessons and theory. The lessons never dragged or felt like a means to an end, I was always looking forward to learning new things and getting to practice driving. I would very highly recommend Amigos driving school for anyone looking to learn to drive. My instructor Alan was brilliant, very knowledgeable, understanding and patient which helped me feel more calm and confident in my driving. My lessons were detailed and informative helping build confidence and prepare for real world situations. Alan is very friendly and helpful and would always listen to my many many questions. Overall, my experience with Alan and Amigos was brilliant and I feel much more safe and confident in my ability to drive than I did before.

After several instructors I have had a very positive experience with this driving school and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. I was met with a high standard of teaching and I would like to thank my instructor Ian for always being so patient, friendly and understanding making me build confidence quickly and be as prepared as I could have been for my test.

I was a learner driver with Alan in the Southampton area and had a fantastic time learning. He was a great and patient instructor who was able to build my confidence and had great insight and tips for my driving skills and style. I would like to thank Ian for helping me build my confidence in driving so quickly and help me pass on my second attempt. Not only was Ian an exceptional driving instructor but someone who was great to speak to and cared about more than just teaching the student how to drive. After unfortunately failing first time I was reassured and motivated to do a second test- which I passed with 2 minors. Highly recommend Amigos to anybody wanting to start driving but views it as something scary and daunting. Alan was an amazing instructor so easy to talk to and was always calm and understanding whenever mistakes were made.

Alan proved to be an outstanding instructor, his friendly approach guided me through managing my nerves and refining my driving abilities to the point where I passed with only 3 minors and driving now feels second nature to me. I can't emphasize enough how much I recommend Alan as an instructor he is amazing.

My experience with Amigos has been fantastic!! I passed my test with flying colors😁 My instructor, Alan Tarling has been a great motivation for me to learn driving in the best way possible. He taught me not just to pass but to drive safely. There were times I doubted myself, but he assured me and made me confident to face the challenge. He showed me pictures, to visually teach the concepts and then practice them to make it perfect. He made me practice maneuvers until I was perfect with all of them. He also did mock test with me and ensured to give me helpful feedback from the mistakes I made. Thank you for your wonderful service and 10/10 recommended!

I had Ian as my instructor and he was so so lovely and helped me pass the first time! He really helped me gain confidence with driving and had a lot of knowledge on test roads making me much more confident for my test as well. He was so patient with me which helped me progress through the content and gave me loads of handouts so that I could revise them in my own time, which definitely helped me learn correct procedures. I would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to learn to drive!
