I worked with Sam and her team from Architecture:WK converting a property that was two flats into a family home. A ground floor extension and loft conversion were added. Sam guided me through the rather arduous and long process of planning applications as well re-designing the space, the tendering process and then the build itself. After a two year process (9 month build) I am absolutely delighted with the end result. Sam has an impressive eye for detail and has reconfigured the space into a light and airy haven that I truly love. I would highly recommend booking into a "design in a day" workshop and seeing how Sam and her team at Architecture:WK can transform your family home.

We worked with Architecture:WK over a 9 month period in 2024 to completely renovate our three story Edwardian house. We had owned the house for 20 years and with both children at university the time was right for major building works. We completely reformatted the ground floor to introduce a large utility space and extend the kitchen/living space. On the top floor we extended one of the bedrooms and installed a large bathroom. We are absolutely delighted with our new home. The team at Architecture:WK have a very good sense of space and a keen eye for detail. The new contemporary kitchen/living space is an absolute delight and enables us to enjoy the beauty of our garden. The flow of the house has been hugely improved. Historically we only used a small percentage of the rooms, and these were often dark and cold. Now we enjoy the whole house equally. I would certainly recommend chatting to the team if you are considering your own renovations.

As a trustee of Park Lane Stables RDA, we want to note how hugely appreciative we have been for everything Sam and the team at Arch:WK have put into our project, the restoration of our historic stables. We did a lot of research and due diligence before choosing Sam and her team. What a great choice we made. Sam and the team put their heart and soul in to the project as if it was their very own and the only thing they were working on. The end result is so perfect and we could not be happier. Even after the project is finished nothing is too much trouble and they continue to support us in tiny ways. Really knowledgeable and did lots of research for the best things for us as our project was quite unusual! Always available for us and took great care at every stage.

Sam ran a really enjoyable Design in a Day workshop for us to talk through ideas and options. We found the sketching process really useful to compare different layouts, with Sam and Damian then producing a great set of drawings to help us visualise the preferred option. Having absolutely no experience of construction projects, we engaged Architecture:WK to run the entire project from soup to nuts. Sam and her team were absolutely first class and professional when necessary and friendly and approachable at all other times. The project consisted of the demolition of a detached brick built garage and its replacement by an side extension which included a studio, wine cellar and general storage area and a wet room all of which is attached to the house. We are delighted with the outcome. Our neighbours say that they can’t believe that it hasn’t been there all the time, so sympathetic is Sam’s design with the original house.

Sam and Damian did an amazing job designing our ground floor extension and seeing it through to completion. Their network of builders with the highest quality finishes and access to top quality external suppliers meant the finish we have achieved is superb. They were excellent at solving any issues with suppliers as well as expertly managing the team on site. Friendly, professional and would highly recommend!

I'm very happy to give Architecture: WK my highest recommendation. They have taken my vague ideas for a ground floor extension and turned them into a truly stunning reality! As a novice to building projects, I find it almost unbelievable to look at the finished result and see how perfectly it realises the aesthetic I wanted. I went through the whole process with Sam, Stavroula and the rest of the team at WK, from the initial "Design in a Day" workshop at my home, through the planning process, the tendering and selection of a first-rate builder, and the project management of the entire build. The project management was utterly worth it as it took all of the stress out of the building process, which I had neither the experience nor the time to manage effectively myself. What particularly stands out for me is how WK marries exceptional creative talent and attention to the smallest detail of a design, with very hands-on, practical expertise when it comes to execution, to deliver a very high quality build. And, if you need a lot of guidance and support like I did, Sam and her team will skillfully and patiently lead you through both the big decisions and the hundreds of little decisions that you need to make on this kind of project. I found them to be the most wonderful people to work with.

Architecture:WK – what an amazing find! No obstacle too big, no attention to detail too small. Everything you could hope for, unrealistically so. But Sam and her team exceed even your unrealistic expectations! Tenacity, resolve, vision, passion, creativity, know-how, expertise, energy - you name it, you’ll find it. I am deeply grateful for what Architecture:WK has already done for us to get us to this point where planning permission has now been granted. I can’t wait to see the plans transform into reality. Utterly, utterly worth it! Sometimes even the most benign scheme can fall foul of exacting (pedantic!) planning departments and we learnt that lesson the hard way. With ‘permission refused’ and in near despair our dream home was not to be realised, we engaged with Sam and her team. Through smart, aesthetically considered design (and quite frankly refuting some of the nonsense levelled at our original plan!) we have been able to negotiate the planning process to a positive outcome – permission is GRANTED! This stage is not to be taken lightly – you go nowhere without permission. Sam & team showed deep experience of policy but with little compromise and an abundance of creativity they produced a design we didn’t think was possible – so clever! Always in contact, always pro-active, to say we recommend is understatement!

I've recently finished a complete refurbishment of my home, working from start to finish with Sam and her team, and am over the moon with the results. They have been a pleasure to work with and have been a constant source of help and advice.
