From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this facility prioritizes care, compassion, and professionalism. The staff are truly amazing—caring and loving in their approach to every resident. A special thank you to Gilbert, the Clinical & Service Manager, who went above and beyond to accommodate our special requests to make mum feels at home. His understanding and dedication made a world of difference. Gemma, the Customer Support & Administration Manager, has been an absolute blessing, making the entire admission process seamless and stress-free. We can’t forget to mention the cheerful and helpful receptionists, Hellen, and her colleagues who consistently ensures that visitations, even with large groups, are managed perfectly. The registered nurses, physiotherapy team, exercise staff, and every member of the Hixson Gardens family have earned our utmost respect for their professionalism and dedication to providing top-notch care. If you’re looking for a place where your loved ones will be treated with dignity, kindness, and expertise, look no further than Hixson Gardens. I am really pleased that I wasn’t turned off by some of the negative reviews as I found Hixson Gardens agedcare home to be a lovely place for our 95year old mother. I had been taking care of my mother for about 20 years in our home with my wife. I never wanted to put her in a nursing home however after she had a fall and broken the bone in her right arm I had to make one of the most difficult decisions in my life and place my mother in respite care and then permanent care. I deliberately chose this agedcare home as it was just a short walk from our home and have had no regrets about it. My mother has been here now for eight months. The staff here are loving and friendly and they take great care of our mother. They have lots of fun activities and parties trying to create an atmosphere of “home away from home” so all can be embraced by this community spirit. I thank God that our Mum is respected and loved in this particular home. Also great staff and support workers! When we had concerns about anything they have been promptly attended to. Another thing I really like about this agedcare home is the Church services they have on Friday mornings. Even though we are from a Hindu background our mother was cared for by Catholic nuns in India when she went through a period of homelessness also she had studied in a Convent school and she likes these services.

First time went to this aged care and already impressed with the way they run this place! Second time came back when Mum already in place and more impressions with staffs. Great aged care for everyone but particularly for VNmese. Staffs are so cheerful 😃 helping the patients whenever they can and so friendly to patients and visitors. Foods are tasty and look great. We very glad have chosen this aged care for Mum and sure that with this environment Mum will live until 100 yrs haha….thank you.

Extremely rude and mean receptionist Unprofessional- as someone who's work in multiple health care receptionist roles people like her should never be face fronting or even answer phones, Reception is called Helen

I called to see my father five days ago. The receptionist said to me that we can’t see him because of the restrictions. I said to her that we haven’t been allowed to see him for over three months ,she yelled at me saying “did you understand what I told you?” You can’t see him “. she was very very rude. He passed away the next day 😔 So sad, so angry, How could you hire a heartless receptionist in a nursing home. have mercy , how could you let a poor old man die lonely without anyone of his family next to him , without anyone holding his hand before the soul leaves his body

A good nursing home for residents.

I highly recommend Lansdowne Nursing home. The staff are supportive, good care, friendly and warm.
