I cannot recommend Artisan Memorials more highly. Their stones are absolutely beautiful, and are created by an amazing craftsman. Throughout the process, as well as giving general advice, the team showed great sensitivity, patience and professionalism. I visited the churchyard to see the stone for the first time last week and it looked amazing.

Artisan Memorials produced and installed a beautiful cremation plaque for my late husband. I had something very simple in mind and, before coming across this company, had been exasperated by the endless fussy designs offered by other memorial masons. Megan and the team were easy to communicate with as the design took shape, and installation was fuss-free.

I can't praise Artisan Memorials enough - we had tried a few other memorial companies, trying to find someone who could create a headstone fitting for our mother, and then we discovered photos online of headstones by this company, and they were so close to what we envisaged that we got in touch. They were so friendly, but also super-efficient, and responsive – they used our rough drawings as the basis for their design, adjusting it in ways that we requested until we were all happy. And when we saw the photos of the stone we were delighted – it looked even better than we imagined. Now installed, and we feel like we, and they, have done our mum proud.

I am SO pleased with the stone that Artisan Memorials have made for my husband. I wanted it to reflect his sculptures, and his personality ( a rough diamond ! ) We always liked natural things, and they showed me a large slab of uncut slate that is perfect; the name is hand carved beautifully, and more like handwriting. Paul had made a hole in one of his sculptures, and filled it with gold gilt ( see below. ) I had asked them to make a similar one in the slate, and the sun shines through it as it sinks in the sea.

A massive thankyou to Antonello and the team at Artisan Memorials. They advised us on the best stone for what we wanted, and refined our design, which was of very specific proportions, and included three of my mother's designs. The latter were faithfully re-created through hand-carving. Antonello was incredibly patient with us throughout our deliberations, conscientiously checking everything along the way. We are very happy with the result, which is an original, striking, elegant and appropriate memorial for my mother.

After being sucked into the world of cheap 'off the shelf' granite blasted memorial stones I came across Artisan Memorials. I thought the price difference would be huge...but it wasn't!
But what was huge was the difference in craftsmanship and quality to last.
Anton went above beyond with patience and communication as I was organising from Australia. Anton took all the stress out if getting permits for the Church & communicating with the vicar.
What really made it was the finished product, just beautiful!
On installation he tidied and added new chippings to the original old burial plot.

I asked for a special slate headstone featuring a mandolin and certain lettering. Everything done as requested consulting me in the few months while made and informing me when the headstone was to be erected. Excellent craftsmanship which at a price which my friend's estate could bear

We were absolutely delighted with the headstone Artisan - Memorials prepared for us. We came up with quite a difficult design but David and Antonio were very helpful in advising on what would work and what wouldn't and went through all the options with us. Helpful, friendly and very professional service from initial contact to placing of the memorial stone, we would highly recommend. We designed our gravestone using a couple of examples online. The result is a natural, beautiful and timeless design which we are very pleased with.

This was not the case and I was welcomed at the installation and was even allowed to play a small part. I'm so glad I found Artisan Memorials for my late husband's headstone. From the initial enquiry to the installation I was treated with great kindness and empathy from David and Antonello. They helped me select the stone, the style and the font and I cannot believe the wonderful detail in the carvings of the sunflower (which my husband loved and grew at our farm) and the Celtic cross (for when I'm laid to rest with him). I was really impressed with David & Antonello from Artisan Memorials of Berkhamsted, nothing too much trouble with regards to the selection of stone and what inscription would be suitable for an all weather memorial plaque.
Artisan Memorials also provided all the relevant paperwork to allow us to have the plaque quickly tuned around.

Following the death of my husband I approached Artisan Memorials having read excellent reviews prior to my visit to their workshop. I was dealt with in a sensitive manner at a difficult time and guided through the process, choice of stone, lettering and styles. The family run business specialise in beautifully carved calligraphy. Having chatted about my preferences I was sent a couple of drawings for consideration and was delighted with the design they came up with. They liaised with the vicar on my behalf and handled the installation. Can’t praise them enough for the overall experience and prompt service.
