Literally wouldn’t have made it through my math class without him! Very kind, understanding, and super supportive. I got an A in my math class and a 100% on my final. He’s super funny and easy to get along with, makes the fact that you’re doing math less painful. Highly recommend. 10/10

Brian helped me through calc II and was everything you want and need in a tutor. He was available to help outside of sessions, communicated well, and brought a consistency to our meetings that was a blessing (especially when dealing with something as frustrating as calc II). Not only is he beyond knowledgeable about the subject (and the history of the subject, mind you), Brian remained an encouraging and enthusiastic person in my corner throughout the semester. His refreshing worldviews and subsequent application of such to learning math really helped quell my anxiety about a class I’d been dreading for years. Brian doesn’t just care about teaching the material - he cares about retention, quick recall, and mindfulness throughout the entire learning process. I found his holistic and structured approaches to concepts that would normally confuse me to no end incredibly helpful. His guidance throughout this semester and beyond has been nothing but pleasant - thank you Brian Woody!!!

Last year, I was a first year student at the Ohio State University taking a notoriously challenging Calc 2 class designed to weed out students. I was super nervous going into the class and decided to receive help from Mr. Woody. It made all the difference! I ended up passing the class with a high grade, which surprised even myself considering the class average. I highly recommend Mr. Woody. Not only was he a great tutor, but he also showed how much he cared about his students. He would answer questions outside of tutoring services and enjoyed talking to me about my future, my ambitions and life in general. Easily the best tutor I’ve ever had.

I worked with Brian in Calc 3, and differential equations. Both times with his tutoring i scored high A& B’s on my exams and in those classes. Brian is an amazing tutor and will provide you with techniques to help with certain concepts and test taking. A huge part of tutoring is knowing how to ask for help, and if you can recognize where you struggle, then Brian is the perfect tutor to help improve your skills. His remote learning style, never affected my learning, I found it more helpful than in person tutoring. Overall, i would highly recommend Brian to anyone wanting a tutor for math. He really wants to share his passion of math with students.

Brian and I worked on Abstract Algebra and Combinatorics together and he also worked with me on Linear Algebra as well as Probability Theory; he’s helped me for about 6-8 months. He was an absolute god send when I needed him the most. I can’t thank him enough for the many hours he’s put in to make sure that I understood the material necessary. If it wasn’t for him, I likely wouldn’t be where I am now. The amount of inspiration and insightfulness he’s given me about my field of study has really made an influence in the way I approach these technical and theoretical challenges. It doesn’t take much inspection to tell that he enjoys what he does and he’s really amazing at it. It’s especially amazing that’s he’s fully capable of explaining these very challenging, upper-end mathematical concepts with relative ease. I hope he continues to share that wisdom, insight and positivity to everyone he meets and works with.

Huge help with Calc 3 and especially Differential Equations; was great at answering questions and being available when I needed help

The BEST tutor I’ve had EVER. Like having a personal mathematics guru. When I was half way through a semester and flailing he came in and saved me from failing the course. His knowledge far exceeds mine and I can’t believe I was so lucky to have him as a mentor! Phenomenal tutor, your own personal professor.

I have been working with Brian for a year now and have seen extreme improvement in my grades, mindset, and even learning skills toward my classes. I wish I could rate him more than 5 stars. Not only have I learned the material I need in a more efficient and simple way, but Brian has also taught me skills to improve my test anxiety, time management, mental preparation, and practice problems efficiently!!! He truly cares about his students all around and will do anything to see them achieve their goals!!

This review is long overdue!! With the help of Brian, I was able to pass Abstract Algebra I and Abstract Algebra II. He was extremely helpful and thorough when helping me with my homework problems. Whenever I reached out, he was quick to respond and tried his best to squeeze me in with his busy schedule. I had never had a tutor before, so I did not know what to expect. His tutoring sessions are done over zoom where he shares his ipad screen while he is writing and explaining step by step how to solve the problems. Not only is he a great tutor, but he is a great person as well. He was extremely approachable and would not hesitate going over topics or steps you did not understand first time around. Even when I did not have scheduled meeting, I could always reach him by text and was quick to respond to any of my questions. It was a pleasure working with him!:D I would highly recommend him :)))

I took a Calc 2 class Woody led at UNR in summer 2015 or something like that and I think about it all the time. The more I think about it the more I see it as a turning point in my education, my career, and really my life as a whole. I always hated math and calculus especially up to that point but Woody's teaching style and personality and passion really made it all click for me! I always mention that class as the time where "I learned how to learn". I'm not sure if I would've how it would've gone trying to finish my engineering degree without that. I have only admiration, respect, and gratitude for Woody, thanks dude!

Worked with Woody for about 5 years, worked on Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Calculus 3, Differential Equations and Statics. Great tutor, great way of teaching, would heartily recommend to anyone in need of a great tutor.

I cannot express enough gratitude to Brian for helping me with my calc I class. I used Brian to help me get through my calculus class in college which I was greatly struggling with and he was awesome! He knew all the content and explained everything clearly and made sure I understood before moving on. He also was more than generous with switching times when I had conflicts and made sure I was well prepared for my exams by giving me extra sessions in the time leading up to my tests. He was a great tutor but also very kind! He also sent me our notes from every session so I could use those to study from!

Brian tutored me in Analysis I when I was struggling. His expertise and methodology helped me understand the material and improve my grade in the class. He’s super nice and fun to work with and worked with me to accommodate me in his schedule. I’ve been tutoring with him for years and he truly understands how to master math.

I wish I could rate Mr. Woody with more than 5 stars! He is such a talented tutor & an amazing human being. He truly cares about his students & their success, always going above & beyond. My college freshman daughter was struggling in her Calc2 class, and was not getting the help she needed from the school’s tutoring center. She had done poorly on a quiz, and was losing confidence in her ability. I reached out to Mr. Woody via email, and he responded immediately. We had a short phone conversation & I explained my daughter’s background and her needs. I immediately felt a sense of relief (as did my daughter!) when he said he was available and would love to help. After their first session, she immediately felt better & started gaining confidence. After only a few sessions, she received a 100% on her midterm! She loves working with Mr. Woody & says he has helped her in so many ways. His strategies have proven very valuable & she has learned to use them to be successful. I also appreciate the weekly reports he sends to me. He keeps me informed about how things are going. I highly recommend Mr. Woody, and will definitely keep his number on speed dial for the next few years!!

Brian is an amazing tutor in less than a month he has helped me go from getting C’s and D’s to A’s and AB’s In my AP calculus class. He also has a connection with each one of his students. He genuinely wants that best for everybody he helps and wants to see them succeed rather than just doing it for the money. He would even text me through the day to check in and see how things were going on the days that he knew I had a test which was very thoughtful of him

I am currently a freshman in college taking Calculus 2. At the beginning of the semester, I was really struggling with Calc. 2. Everything was very confusing, I was failing quizzes, and the resources I had were not effective in explaining the material. I started tutoring with Brian over Zoom about a week before my first test. In just a week with his help, I was able to get a 100% on my first test. I am still tutoring with him, and I also got a perfect score on my second test. Brian is an amazing teacher, and he has methods to solve every problem that will get thrown at you. At first, I was worried that nothing could help me understand Calc. 2, but Brian teaches in a quick and effective way that anyone can understand. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone in need of help with math!
