The Hovarian has been a staple in our family's reading for over a decade. It's a lovely newsletter that shares great local knowledge, both new and old. And the team were exceptionally helpful when publicising a piece on the AI math teacher my brother and I have been developing.
Hi James, many thanks for the kind words and delighted you find the magazine useful

We were delighted with the article published in Brighton and Hove Magazine about us taking over Fiveways Arts and Crafts in Ditchling Road and our new vision for the shop. The publicity really helped with our launch and the friendly questions published in the magazine and accompanying photograph led folk from across Brighton and Hove to visit (and keep returning). We highly recommend Brighton and Hove Magazines.
Hi Ben, thank you so much for the review! Really pleased it helped and good luck with the new business!

Brighton and Hove Magazines published an article for me in June 2024 about Brighton & Hove Arts Council's 50th Anniversary. They were a pleasure to work with, published my article exactly as written, and I am extremely happy with the quality of the layout!
Hi Abi, that is great...thank you!

After I was featured in The Hovarian as a local author I've become famous in my neighbourhood! It was an absolute pleasure to work with a publication so tuned in with the area.

A great monthly LOCAL magazine with good LOCAL content & editorial.
The vintage photos of the area are always looked forward to.
I've used several of the businesses advertised & have always had a good job from them.
Keep up the good work.

We’re lucky: the Brightonian is delivered monthly to our door, clunking through the letter slot and splashing across the floor. And when it arrives, there can something of – well, I won’t call it a race, but a sense of eagerness to read the latest edition. What’s happening locally – events, people, music, books, arts, community news and yesteryear photos of Brighton as it was a century back… the works. Its savoured, articles read twice, stories discussed, and plans made on the back of alerts for upcoming events.
There’s that, the regular, the monthly pleasure of the Brightonian and knowing what’s happening locally. But there’s more. When it came to getting the word out about my own news – in this case Don’t Falter, a novel set in Brighton (and Hove, too, for that matter) – I wrote straight away to the Brightonian and to the Hovarian – who wrote straight back with a yes, with thanks, and details of when the story would run. It was kind – kind and supportive. They made it easy.
And the response has been fab. People who have read the story have stopped me to say where they saw news of the book in the Brightonian, in the Hovarian. All that to mind, when a couple good friends whose books are being released later this year, I recommended they, like anyone, get in touch with the magazines too – although I hasten to add it wasn’t news to them: they, as Brightonian / Hovarian readers already had the mags in their sights.
Hi Chris, wow! thank you...that has made our week here! It is exactly what we set out to try and achieve with the magazine so very gratifying to read your review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it and good luck with the book!

The Hovarian and Brightonian are great free local magazines. They always have interesting local interest articles worth reading. With a nice clean layout adverts do not get lost in the design. Having advertised there myself I can say that I had a good response. I also use the free event listing page to advertise local events of the charity for which I volunteer. Highly recommended.
Hi David
Many thanks for the review. delighted that you like the magazines!
All the best

Brighton & Hove magazines offer an excellent avenue for advertising, but also include some top-notch local stories to read through. Recommended for advertising and as a great read, not always an easy balance to achieve.
Hi Alan, thank you, much appreciated!
