Burly Boyz Moving & Storage Reviews

After many suggestions I took their service for relocation and once you pay the 500 dollars deposit you get assigned with a RC (relocation coordinator) who coordinates with you right from the start. I was first estimated 3000 dollars for my move and had to pay more than 50% of the estimate during the pick-up. The pick-up was smooth , they came with all proper equipments and took their time to load all our items into the truck. After this comes the issue, we were supposed to be hearing from the office on the weight of the items and the delivery details. We received the invoice for the items picked up and the total weight only 5 days after the actual pick-up. And the details for delivery window planned we received only after two actual weeks of delivery. The stated date for delivery was 27th November to 2nd December which is more than a month after the actual pick-up. When I asked them to deliver at a sooner date there was no response, I keep calling them for update and an accurate delivery date and ther is no response for either . I will definitely not recommend Burly Boys moving services for anyone in future.

Frustrating and Worst service. Never book this irresponsible company. My wife booked the service to move our items from Toronto to Edmonton as they assured us a delivery of 6-16 days with a competitive price.Since they promised the quicker transition I have booked this service instead of other reputed companies.Later they changed the price after reestimation problem is not here. We are yet to receive our items even after 18 days. My wife and I need to start my work in two days and we have nothing to start life in Edmonton. No cooking vessels, no school materials for my kids to resume school and can’t start our work. Have attempted many calls , left voice mail messages and many emails but nothing is responded yet. We have no idea when we will receive our shipment. Our relocation coordinator LEIBY is yet to coordinate this issue. We are clueless in a new place.

A excellent experience with this outfit. They were professional, thorough, and very reasonably priced. I would recommend this company to anyone moving their possessions.

These goofs tried to charge me $5800!!! To move a ONE BEDROOM apartment 250 km. Shysters!! 👎👎 I do not recommend these rip off artists. I found a local company and they only charged me $1100.

**PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU HIRE THEM** I hired Burly Boyz and had the worst experience with the moving companies. I have moved a lot of times, and this was my first time moving with Burly Boyz, but the experience from the start until the end was horrendous. 1. DON'T GET FOOLED BY THE INITAL ESTIMATE - your initial estimate might seem low compared to the other companies, but it will most likely become a lot higher. I won't describe much as there are already quite a few complains about the estimate vs the actual invoice amount.The revised estimate after filming all your stuff a week before the move will be most likely higher. However, since you already paid the deposit, you can't cancel it or otherwise you will lose $500 deposit. Expect to pay more than the initial estimate. 2. Notified the change of pick up time A DAY BEFORE - The initial pick up time that they told me weeks ago was at 9 a.m on Sept 28. I booked the elevator in the morning for 3 hours and the cleaning service to come at 12 p.m. However, a day before, the moving coordinator reached out to me and just announced that the movers will come around 12 p.m. He didn't even apologize for the sudden change, it was rather a notice. I complained and told Burly Boyz that I cannot accomodate with the new pick up time, and with couple phone calls, emails, and texts, it ended up them picking it up on the initial planned time. 3. LOST ITEMS - I should have read the reviews more carefully before hiring them. There are already quite a few reviews with compaining about the lost items. For me, they lost one garbage can and a snowboard bag. The size of the snowboard bag is more than 5 feet. How could you lose that bulky item? The only partition that they put in their truck to indicate your stuff and the others' is putting two straps across the trailer when your stuff is loaded. This is a poor method of putting a partition to indicate which sutff belongs to who, because whatever item that is sticking out in between those straps can be mixed into the other person's loads while driving. I am thankful that I eventually found the snowboard bag (if you read the other reviews, there are actually fair amount of people who didn't end up finding their stuff) , but it was 3 weeks after we claimed that it was lost. But it wasn't smooth at all. They called me that they found the snowboard bag 2 weeks after I submitted the claim and came to my condo. Guess what? IT WASN'T OURS. That means, there was another customer who lost his/her snowboard bag just less than a couple weeks with Burly Boyz, and they couldn't track which one is which. So, this kind of incident seems very common with them :) 4. DIDN'T ARRIVE AS SCHEDULED FOR DROP OFF WITH NO NOTICE - I was told that the movers would arrive to drop off my stuff around 11 a.m on Sept 30. NOBODY CAME, and no notice nor a call received. So, I had to call them and the call representative said that they had an issue with the vehicle, so they departed late from the Edmonton warehouse. Ok, if that happened and if you knew that, why can't you just give us a call to notify that it's being delayed, before I make a call? Is it that hard? I was told that the revised drop off time was then 1 p.m. And guess what? You are right. STILL NO ONE CAME at 1 p.m. Then when did they arrive? They ended up arriving near 4 p.m and the drop off finished around 8 p.m because ONLY 2 GUYS SHOWED UP whereas there were 3 movers for my pick up. Customer service was not really nice, either. When my wife called a couple times one day regarding the lost snowboard bag, the call representative sounded bothered and said "Well, are you going to snowboard in next 48 hours?". I think mocking and being sarcastic to the customer who is worried about her gears worth about $1,500 like that is not professional at all. Long story short, from the beginning until the end, everything was awful. Think twice before you hire them.

Quote was off by over a $1000 each on both moves (coordinated a move out and move in) and many pieces of furniture were damaged with no compensation or acknowledgement. The company also didn't send enough manpower so move took several more hours than estimated and movers were not happy. Would NEVER use this company again.

Makes you pay for insurance in case there’s a damage to your belongings, then turns around and says after the damage was done that they don’t cover it. And miraculously after that the phone number doesn’t work. Shameful.

I would not recommend Burly Boyz Moving to anyone. After sending them a video of items I wanted moved, they failed to bring my BBQ and outdoor furniture, saying there wasn’t enough room in truck. Wasn’t the whole reason for the video to plan the correct size of truck? They told me they would charge me again to go back for the left overs. Wow!! NOPE!! Never again! Do NOT USE THEM!

Highly recommend!! This was my second move with Burly Boyz and both have been very good experiences!! I booked the move through Shelley, who was excellent at gathering necessary information from me to ensure a great experience. Jayden and his associate were eventually assigned to move the contents of my Condo. They were on time, fast, friendly and professional. Care was taken to ensure larger more expensive furniture was properly wrapped for transport into my storage facility. From beginning to end a 5-star experience. Thanks Burly Boyz.

Zero stars….zero zero zero. My mother in law moved from Fort McMurray. She sold all her furniture minus two end tables, tv stand, curio cabinet. She had a few shelves (wire) boxes and two tv’s. After everything was put into the truck they weighed everything and surprise surprise she was underestimated. She is a senior and was totally taken advantage of. They would not unpack the truck until she paid the outstanding bill. She was given an estimate of $4500. This was to move half a truck load from Fort McMurray to Edmonton. Which is ridiculous in itself. Then they weighed the truck. Her bill came out to $6900. This is to move half a truck 500 km. Then there was an email sent to her that the movers would show up at noon. Well they showed up at 8:30 am. Zero communication. The mover were nice and did a good job moving things but the person that quoted absolutely does not know how to do his job. He gave an estimate to her for a fully furnished apartment 2 weeks ago. Here’s the thing….i moved down a few month ago. A 6 bedroom home, 2 living rooms, deck furniture and dinning table. Then we asked the moving company to move two couches back to Fort Mc to my son’s location. This was all pre planned. We paid $5000. Guess what my final bill was? $5000. Exactly what we were quoted. So glad we didn’t hire this company….our move would have been $40,000. Oh yes….she asked for a seniors discount. She was given $50 off and then charged $2700 extra. What an absolute joke. I kept looking in the truck to see where the bars of gold were to justify the weight. There were none.

Good price and very good movers we had from burly boyz moving. I highly recommend them.
