Anniversary and birthday treat We stayed in the Windermere room and the bed was really comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was beautiful and spacious, complete with chandelier! The room itself had lots of character, overlooking the front garden with a lovely window seat. The furniture had an "arched" motif to match the window shape which was a nice touch. Breakfast was chosen from a menu card in the room which contained all the usual choices such as cereals, yoghurt and fruit, cooked items, toast, etc., and this card was filled in, also selecting the desired time slot, and then hung on the room door handle. This ensured that breakfast was served beautifully and efficiently each morning. A great system! The owners, Jonathan and Caroline, are such a lovely couple and always able to offer helpful advice on things to do and places to dine. On our first night there, we were even able to attend the Lakeland shop Christmas tree switch-on, thanks to Caroline letting us know it was happening. This was our first time at Cedar Manor and they made us feel so welcome with nothing being too much trouble. We tend to have a yearly break in the Lakes and we will definitely be back at Cedar Manor at some point.

The Best Afternoon Tea ever! The service was attentive and so friendly, we had a huge choice of teas,and the food was divine,several courses of delicate locally sourced delishesness preceded a fantastic selection of cakes,which we couldn't finish,and so were given a take home box. All served on fine bone china.Just wonderful, thank you for a fabulous afternoon!

Fabulous, elegant, without the big price! What a beautiful property to arrive to! LIke driving into your country estate! Rooms are small but gorgeous. Not a thing missing or sloppy. They’ve taken great care in the design and decor so you feel you’re in a special place. Very comfortable from the king bed, the window we could open to let in fresh air and the morning sounds. Great ensuite bathroom, again beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were perfect. And this venue is a 5 minute walk to the town of Windermere. Bowness, a 30 minute walk. Both lovely and fun. We hope to return to this beautiful property and to the astonishing Lake District. Amazing!

CEDAR MANOR We stayed at The Cedar Manor hotel for three nights and were in no rush to leave. Everything about the hotel is first rate, the hotel itself is picture perfect, inside the rooms are modern, well eqipped and tastefully decorated. The food superb, The level of service exceptional and nothing too much trouble for the management and staff. I would not hesitate in booking another stay at Cedar Manor and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional break in the Lake District.

Excellent! 5 STAR! We had the best afternoon tea we've ever had. Tea served in china ( which is becoming rarer, sadly); to start we had a small cup of excellent soup, a gruyere delicacy, fab sandwiches with well-balanced fillings. Then tasty scones with lovely jam and cream. To finish there was a selection of gorgeous cakes. We were given what we couldn't eat in a beautifully gift-wrapped box. The hotel was plush and very clean and we received a warm welcome. All at a reasonable price although we'd have been happy to pay more .

Exceptional Afternoon Tea! 5* We went to Cedar Manor for Afternoon Tea for my Mum's 78th birthday, and we weren't disappointed! Cedar Manor itself is absolutely beautiful with well tended gardens, just perfect in the sunshine. The service provided by Caroline and Jonathan was fabulous - they were both really attentive and made the whole experience just perfect. The Afternoon Tea is exceptional, using fantastic local quality produce. It's the best Afternoon Tea we've had and to top it all off, anything we were unable to eat was boxed up so that we could take it home to enjoy! I would highly recommend Cedar Manor!

Relaxing anniversary treat - lovely place to stay with super Afternoon Tea and luxurious rooms 👍 A beautiful, relaxing and luxurious place to stay and enjoy - so welcoming and the Afternoon Tea is simply superb - a place to unwind with a great location to explore the Lakes and walk in to Windermere- it was our 2nd stay having stayed last year and returned this year and are planning to return next year

The best This is the first time we have visited since dinner was no longer available, and it is as fabulous as it ever was. Spotlessly clean, wonderful garden, top notch facilities , and amazing breakfast. Thanks for finding us a room with at short notice. See you soon.

Cedar Manor is exceptional We recently stayed at Cedar Manor Hotel for a couple of nights and would return in a heartbeat. Everything about Cedar Manor is exceptional. Warm and welcoming hosts, lovely room, great location and superb breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble and the only regret we have is that we couldn't stay longer.

Coeliacs will be welcome. Coeliacs are welcome and the breakfast is great with plenty to choose from. Full Cumbrian breakfast, fruits, yogurt, eggs anyway you like... Even gluten free biscuits in the room! Always spotlessly clean and welcoming by the owners. The garden is just so nice to be in and wander around. We have stayed at Cedar Manor before and hope to again when we are in Windermere. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Pick this B&B for a wonderful Lake District trip Wonderful place to stay and location for exploring the Lake District. Rooms very comfortable with the perfect thoughtful touches of an excellent B&B. Breakfast is excellent with personalized ordering the night before. The owners were very helpful for dining recommendations, hiking, and using the bus system. Walking distance from Orrest Head Trail and a public foot trail down to the lake. There is are bus stops immediately in front of the B&B or within 100 ft to travel to multiple towns throughout in the Lake District. I would recommend to any friend and would 100% eagerly stay there on a return trip.

Nice view and lovely place to stay We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cedar Manor. Our room was lovely and had a great view. The lounge areas were well appointed and the approach to breakfast was great. You simply let them know the order and time the night before and then they service your room while you are at breakfast. This is such a great idea! The location is close enough to town to easily walk; the road was a bit busy as it seems to be a major thoroughfare. Overall, a great view and I lovely place to stay.

Wonderful breakfast and terrible toilet Staffs were lovely and breakfast was wonderful, but the toilet had really really weak flush. It should be fixed.

Memorable stay at Cedar Manor My sister and I stayed at Cedar Manor in July. We found the property through the awesome online reviews. It is very conveniently located near the Windmere rail station. Caroline and Jonathan are excellent hosts - from the lovely room we stayed in to the sumptuous breakfast and the very helpful tips around things to do at Lake District - it made for a memorable holiday. I cannot wait to be back. I highly recommend the property.

Absolutely everything about our visit was excellent We went to Cedar Manor for Afternoon Tea for my Mum's 92nd birthday. Everything about our visit was excellent. The place itself is beautiful; quite small but we preferred that. The service was amazing - we were greeted by the owner and throughout our visit both he and his server were attentive, pleasant and chatty. The afternoon tea was the best we'd had - presented beautifully and anything we couldn't eat, was boxed up so we could take it home. All in all a wonderful day for my Mum - she described her day as unforgettable!

Best afternoon tea ever!!! My sister & I took Mum for afternoon tea for her 92nd birthday. It was easily the best we've had, well worth the trip from Cheshire. The attention to detail was tremendous, very special indeed. The service was excellent & the owner was so friendly & attentive. The cakes.......wow!!! Would definitely recommend & will definitely be returning. Thanks so much!!

Windermere Oasis So many properties and hotels nowadays are run by bureaucrats. At Cedar Manor, the hosts are thoughtful, hospitable, and have good taste. This especially shines through in the food. Don’t miss the afternoon Tea, where you can probably skip dinner afterwards. Breakfasts are exceptional as well. The hotel itself sits in an oasis of superb landscaping; on entering you seem to leave the hurly-burly of the touristy area of Windermere, even though it’s not far away.

Lovely, Charming & Warm We had a great experience at Cedar Manor. Room was charming, clean, and functional. Bed was comfortable. Service was thoughtful and warm---felt like we were visiting friends. Food (including daily breakfast and afternoon tea) was consistent and solid. Caroline and Jonathan provided excellent recommendations of things to do, places to eat, etc. Our only "con" is that the bathroom (which was notably clean) was on the small side. We happily looked past it, given all the pros. Would recommend. Would absolutely stay again. Thank you, Caroline and Jonathan.

Beautiful hotel We had a wonderful short stay here. The hotel is in a picture book setting with a magnificent Cedar tree in the middle of a beautiful garden. Jonathan and Caroline are perfect hosts with all the local information you need to plan a trip. The room we stayed in was ideal and spotless. We look forward to staying here again in the near future.

Beautiful hotel Had a 3 night stay in this lovely boutique hotel, was delighted we chose this one after reading the reviews. Room was a nice size & very clean & beautifully decorated, as was the whole house. Plenty of parking & secluded & only a short walk into Windermere. Plenty of choice for breakfast, food hot, tasty & good quality. The hosts are very welcoming, friendly & helpful & rooms have little extras like fresh milk/water & small fridge to keep it in. Very quiet area, just a 30 min walk to Bowness & good base for visiting the Lakes. We really enjoyed our stay in 'Langdale' with amazing views from the toilet! All in all a wonderful relaxing place to stay, would stay here again.
