Holiday Experience I was on a break and travelled into Norwich by car. Next to the Airport I noticed the sign for this Museum and decided to visit this on the way back to our hotel. The exhibits at the museum exceeded my expectations. the indor had fullsize engines plus memorabilia of aircraft and their exploits . The outdoor contained actual aircraft of various sizes ranging from a Nimrod to light aircraft. The cost of £5 to pensioners was well worth the money. Itis slightly dearer in the summer and also for younger adults. There is a cafe on site as well as a shop. I highly recommend a visit.

Meaningful to touch the real UK Air Force heritage. It is happy to approach the real retired military aircraft displayed that could only see in the recording film or model making.

Gem of a museum! Wonderful couple of hours inside the museum with hundreds of exhibits full of interesting details. Outside was great wandering amongst the planes, as well as the inside storage area for cockpits and engines. A gem of a museum if you like your aviation history!

Worth while trip whilst in Norfolk This Museum has just started expansive to allow exhibits from another closing aviation museum to be saved for the future. The museum staff very helpful and opened extra doors to allow electric wheelchair access , some areas a little tight but enough to interest everyone with items inside and out. A selection of planes outside including Nimrod, Vulcan, Jaguar, Lightning and many more. Some you can pay an extra £2.50 per person per plane for a guided tour .Reason for 4 not 5 was lack of hot food in cafe and sandwiches and baps all had mayonaisse which is no good for those allergic to egg. Also off putting lady sweeping up dust while we were trying to eat and drink

As an RAF boy !!! We visited last week. Despite the museum not being the size of the Imperial War Museum. It was just fabulous in every way. What betters getting up inside a Vulcan bomber and sitting in the pilots (in very small space) seat and getting a true feel of this historic aircraft. Then to be able to do a full tour of the inside of a Nimrod guided by an ex crew member.Hard to better this

Excellent day out! An excellent museum - not just a varied collection of well presented aircraft but it was the excellent and welcoming staff who made the bus trip from Norwich very worthwhile. Highly recommended!

Nimrod was our highlight Having driven passed this on our stay last year I thought we would give it a try. For the 5 of us it cost us £23 to get in and the tour on the Nimrod was extra (£1.50 or £2.50 each) and needed to be booked (you need to get there early to book the tours). The museum is very informative and gives information about the airmen from the wars which Norfolk due to the area of the country it is in and there are more up to date areas as well. There are planes to look at and 3 tours are possible. We went with the Nimrod tour (Vulcan not available) and we have to say it was a brilliant tour, great to get to look inside, the person who delivered it was very informative and answered the questions we threw at him.

Great place for a day out. Had an absolutely brilliant day here, did two of the tours which meant we went inside the aircraft, our guide Mike was.very knowledgeable especially about the Vulcan, and was happy to answer all our questions. We all enjoyed it and spent an enjoyable four hours there. Nice little cafe, clean toilets, and very reasonable entrance and tour prices. Will return when next in the area.

Informative experience Lovely day spent at the Aviation museum, however when looking at previous prices they have massively increased the prices for visitors. They have an extensive collection of aviation memorabilia and the staff are very enthusiastic about the planes. You can even book guided tours if you are early enough, so check in as soon as you get there!

A hidden marvel I love a visit to an aviation museum, and my friend and I decided to visit for the day. It's what you don't see from the outside which is amazing, so many donated artifacts and curios, such as pilot & officers uniforms, engines, propellers and models to name but a few.The aircraft on display are something to behold; the mighty Avro Vulcan & Nimrod tower over the site, and the various little jets add to the atmosphere. If you wish to kill a couple of hours, visit here, the coffee shop is lovely and the gift shop sells some amazing things.

Great visit Very good museum with lots to see. Excellent informative tours of the Vulcan and Nimrod planes for extra £2.50 each. At Duxford the Vulcan tour is £45 extra each! Be quick to visit the Vulcan as tours cease at the end of Summer this year. Nice tea room for light lunch or coffee. Friendly informative staff. This is well worth the entrance fee.

Brilliant museum A must visit for fellow aviation "enthusiasts"!There is a wonderful display of aircraft here. Particularly liked the Vulcan and Lightning. Stunning. There are a few huts which contain information specific to different areas and these are well worth a visit. You will be there longer than you think. It really is a great and detailed museum. Also a cafe (very reasonably priced) and gift shop on site.

Fantastic display! Loved the tour of the Hawker Siddeley Nimrod. Clyde, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the history of the Versatile Nimrod is fascinating. They have s wonderfully cared for display of planes including a Vulcan on display outside and much more memorabilia indoors in beautifully collated displays. There is a shop and cafe, friendly helpful staff, if you like planes it’s a must see!

Fantastic! I was so thrilled to visit this lovely museum specifically to see the Air UK exhibits. All of the volunteers are charming and the coffee shop is super but a special thank you to curator Matt Taylor who came in specially to open up the Air UK aircraft for me. The main F27 exhibit is perfect and looks as though she’s ready to take flight with 44 passengers to somewhere like Aberdeen or Jersey. She really is stunning! Thank you Matt and all of the volunteers for their commitment to the Air UK heritage. I salute you.

Great place to visit The volunteers at the museum were very welcoming and knowledgeable. I was told the story by Mike about how the museum received the English Electric Lightening in bits from a scrap yard in Portsmouth. He described how putting it back together was like doing a very large Airfix kit which took several years to complete.I can highly recommend visiting the museum that also has several indoor displays detailing aviation in Norfolk, and a superb Café that is able to provide gluten free food.

First visit to Norwich Aviation Museum Very enjoyable experience. Specifically visited to see the Vulcan Bomber and the RJ85. I was particularly interested in the RJ85 as I had been involved in the production of similar aircraft (BA146) at British Aerospace, Hatfield. I would like to express my thanks to the gentleman who permitted me access the cockpit and fuselage, which really made my day! Thanks to all concerned involved in the running of this excellent museum.Sharon Darragh.

Great local attraction It's volunteer-run, but they do a great job. The indoor displays are heavily focused on WWII flying, which isn't my interest, but I enjoyed some of the stories of individuals, particularly the Czech and Polish men who flew for the RAF. The outdoor aircraft displays are probably what most want to see. Consists of mainly 50s and 60s jet aircraft, some of which make for great pics. I particularly am interested civil aviation and hence very much enjoyed the Avro RJ-85 and the 2.5 Fokker F27s! Nice little shop with books, posters and models to buy. Good for both big and little kids. I easily spent 1.5 hours here.
