This is a beautiful house to stay in. The property is well equipped with quality items. Lots of games for the children to enjoy especially as the weather wasn’t particularly kind to us. Great location overlooking the sea and short walk to the beach. Unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to take advantage of the courtyard and amenities but they looked good! Comfortable beds and lovely showers. The bath is extra large! Nice to have good washing facilities. Overall we were very grateful to have such a lovely house to stay in - thank you 😊

we had a great stay at Jumble Cottage, Host Daisy was very responsive to my questions. especially when I was stressed out catching up the ferry, she helped me reschedule last mins. The house was greatly located, few mins to seaside. Great seaview with lots of sailing boat. The kids love all the board games provided and also the variety of sporty outdoor equipment. We enjoyed a great weekend there, thanks again!

The Jumble cottage was a beautiful spot and felt really cozy. A few of my friends joked that we were all going to move in there together and not leave. The kitchen was well stocked and the view was lovely. Would definitely come again. There was a bit of confusion around number of adults that could stay, as the listing on Airbnb had indicated that 10 adults was okay (though other parts of the listing suggested only 6) but after that confusion everything was fine.

The accommodation was absolutely lovely and we had a great short break.
☺ The location was fantastic as was the view. The facilities were good and it had everything we needed. It was comfortable and warm and having milk left for us was very handy.
☹ Emily was just leaving as we arrived and we spoke briefly as she was shutting the door. She left and then the door wouldn’t open for us. I made a phone call and she returned and got us in. It was just a shame she didn’t check we could get in before we left as we had a 2 year old with us. Sadly there was workmen staying next door and they did not follow the noise rules. Shouting and singing and dragging furniture around between 10pm & midnight which spoilt it rather.

Disappointing
☺ Some nice features, generally nice decor, lovely view, close to a pebble beach
☹ The windows were filthy (inside and out) so we had to clean them ourselves to appreciate the view. I think the owners need to check the quality of the cleaning service that they’re paying for as I don’t think they did a good job.
I understand that the idea is to leave stuff in cupboards so we can use it as if it’s our home, but it felt like there was too much of other people’s stuff and it was crammed in to some of the cupboards. When I arrived I realised that there’s no photo of the front of the property, you walk in through the garage and it was cluttered and dirty. The microwave and tumble dryer are in here.
The towels provided were small and there weren’t enough for a family of 5 for a week.
There was a scrap of paper explaining that the upstairs room with the second TV could only be used for DVDs, but there was no DVD set up so we couldn’t use it - we thought it would have been a good room for our children to watch films together. We could all only use the smaller downstairs TV, which didn’t have many options (just iPlayer) despite indicating on the details that it offered streaming services. It also took a while to figure out how to use as there were 4 remotes. The Wi-Fi wasn’t good and it kept dropping out so programmes kept stopping and buffering.
The breakages book mentioned more than once that the lights in the downstairs bathroom were temperamental and they still hadn’t been sorted 6 months later. After seeing the pictures and reading the reviews, I expected it to be nicer and was disappointed when I arrived. It has made me lose confidence in the rating system for Booking.com as this didn’t live up to our expectations.

Dear Elizabeth,
Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback on your recent stay with us. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the property's decor, the proximity to the beach, and the beautiful views offered. However, it is clear from your comments that several aspects of your stay did not meet the high standards we strive to uphold. Please allow us to address these points.
Firstly, regarding the cleanliness of the windows, we understand your disappointment. The coastal location of our property does mean that windows can quickly become affected by sea spray, especially during stormy weather. While we endeavour to maintain them, the timing of the weather can indeed impact their condition shortly after cleaning. We appreciate your input on this matter and will look into scheduling cleanings more strategically based on weather forecasts when possible.
We also acknowledge your concerns about storage and clutter. The intention is indeed to make the property feel like a home away from home; however, it seems we may need to re-evaluate how personal items and appliances are stored to maximise space and convenience for our guests.
Regarding the amenities such as the towels, TV, and DVD setup, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and confusion caused. We will review our inventory and setup instructions to ensure they meet guest expectations and needs effectively.
We have taken immediate steps to address the WiFi issues and the lighting in the downstairs bathroom, as consistent functionality in these areas is crucial for a comfortable stay.
Your feedback is instrumental in helping us improve and ensure that our guests have the best experience possible. We are committed to addressing these issues and hope to restore your confidence in the fantastic quality of our accommodation which we have always had wonderful feedback from previously.
Thank you once again for your honesty and for choosing us for your stay. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future under better circumstances, where we can exceed your expectations.
Warm regards,
Emily
