I visited Viani Bay Resort in November and went diving with them. Everything - from communication in advance to check-out and getting back to the Airport on Taveuni - went super smooth. Jobe and Marina, and especially their local Team, are absolutely fantastic people and they welcomed me warmly to their little slice of paradise 🌴 The food is outstanding, I was welcomed to the afternoon Kava ceremony and it was delightful to explore the bay on foot and in the water 🤿 from the Resort. I hope to be back to spend more time with the Viani Bay Resort Team, and see more of the Rainbow Reef and their Bay!

Viani bay resort dive academy is a boutique dive resort catering to the individual diver. They limit their three small dive boats to four divers per boat each with its own dive master. This insures you are going to get a good picture of the things the dive master finds (This is far cry from some of the Taveuni resorts boats you will see bringing 30 divers to the reefs). The bay that the resort is situated in allows for a 15 minute boat ride to most Taveuni dives with the longest being the famous “White Wall” which they are the only outfit to do night dives at. The reefs are extremely colorful both in terms of soft corals and fish varieties. They do service divers from yachts that will anchor themselves in their bay and they only have a few bungalows for a limited number of land based guests all of which have a front porch with an ocean view along with a beach and a grassy area perfect for yoga and lazing in the sun. We just got back after a day snorkeling trip with Dive Academy Fiji. We are a young family with children aged 2 and 7. The team at Viani Bay Resort is amazing. Even though we were only there for the day, we were treated like family. Snorkeling the rainbow reef was amazing even though it was a cloudy day. Tumo, the guide, was amazing and patient with my kids. The skipper, restaurant staff, marine biologist and every single staff treated us with kindness. We would love to return to this resort and spend few nights there

Einfach wunderschön! Ich hab meinen Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen. Alles hat gestimmt! Die Lage ist super: direkt in der Nähe der White Wall und dem Rainbow Reef, sowie anderen wunderschönen Tauchplätzen. Das ganze Team war super freundlich, zuvorkommend und warmherzig. Das Essen war einfach grandios: super leckere, frische und abwechslungsreiche local Gerichte 10/10. Die Bungalows sind so gemütlich, sauber und man hat alles was man braucht! Ich bin so fasziniert davon, wie Marina und ihr Geschäftspartner das Alles aus dem Nichts aufgebaut haben & würde definitiv wieder kommen! Danke für diesen wunderschönen Aufenthalt🫶🏻

We stayed at this beautiful resort for 3 days and should have stayed longer. Marina and her team made us as comfortable as possible. The diving was superb and Ian our dive guide was very knowledgeable and just fun. It is a soft coral heaven for divers. The food was always freshly cooked local food and very good. They even made a birthday cake for my husband and we had a little celebration. It is very impressive what the team achieved in this bay and how they include the community and make a big impact there. We try to come back!

Our weeklong stay at Marina's diving station in January 2023 was an absolute delight. Under the expert guidance of Marina and her team, we completed our Advanced Open Water Diver certification and embarked on eight breathtaking diving excursions. Exploring wonders like the coral garden and the inspiring white wall left us in awe of the beauty beneath the waves. The meticulous instructions provided beforehand, and the insightful debriefings afterward not only enhanced our technical skills but also deepened our appreciation for the Southern Pacific's marine biodiversity. Engaging in the coral project was a highlight of our trip, allowing us to contribute to ongoing scientific efforts led by the University of Fiji. Marina's passion for empowering local communities and fostering capacity building left a lasting impression on us. Her dedication serves as an inspiration, transcending cultural boundaries and enriching the experience for visitors like us. Beyond the diving, the atmosphere at the station was simply heavenly. We are not a typical resort bubble: the accommodation is rustic, yet with all the required comfort. The food is local, yet with an upmarket twist and stylish presentation. Our local, in-house trained team warm-heartedly welcome guests and treat them like family. Your appreciation fills our team with pride. The Rainbow Reef at our door front ranks amongst the top 10 dive destinations in the world. Diving the 30 diverse sites requires careful timing: soft corals and marine life strive with color and life in the currents - not so much without. We take pride in selecting the right sites at the right time to ensure unforgettable dive experiences for our guests. Our proximity to the reef and taking only 4 divers per boat allows more flexible timing and site selection. It was our great pleasure to share this pristine underwater world with you. Thank you also for joining in our coral restoration project. We hired alocal marine biologist to help advance our efforts. Hoping to see you both back one day - we know it is a long way from Germany.

This is probably the nicest place I have ever stayed. Marina and her team offer intimate hospitality and take extremely good care of their guests. I arrived at Vianney Bay Resort by their boat and was greeted at the beach with fresh coconut milk and a homemade lei. You can hear lapping waves while falling asleep and can be woken up at 4 AM by the beautiful sound of a 30 second handdrum call. At 5 PM I had the pleasure of hearing singing from villagers. The meals were craftily procured by Nesi (possibly the world's greatest chef) and others. Everything, from the salt (thanks to Jone) to the jam, are homemade and the food is some of the best I have eaten in my life. I had the pleasure of meeting other travelers from around the world and got to trade scuba diving secrets. The diving at Rainbow Reef was incredible. The bungalows are well appointed and cozy. Sometimes the locals came to share their music and kava. Marina is lovely and accommodating. The flora and fauna of the grounds are natural and not overrun with development as in other resorts. It's more of an ecoresort. All in all, Marina and the Fiji Dive Academy team offer their guests unbeatable service, food, diving, and accommodations.

It makes our day to hear that the concept of a private dive resort that is truly embedded in the local community is so highly appreciated. Of course you can simply enjoy the beach, garden, diving, etc. Yet, there is also the option of getting connected to the people and their culture and it is great to hear that this was exactly what you were looking for. Your kind words about our cozy bungalows and the natural surroundings mean a lot to us. We strive to maintain a balance between comfort and preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings by sourcing most of our timber locally and replanting accordingly. Our chefs use local ingredients for their culinary Fijian creations and cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other diets. It's wonderful to hear that you found the food to be some of the best you've ever eaten! Every guest helps us to maintain and expand our conservation and community initiatives, like the coral and giant clam nursery, seaweed farm, scuba-scholarship program, or helping the youth by sponsoring the Ucunivatu Rugby Club. The location in the center of the world-famous Rainbow Reef is a blessing that we love to share with our guests, and we are forever grateful for the warm welcome and support of the Viani Bay community. We are hoping you will come back one day and explore even more of the Rainbow Reef and nearby areas.

We're glad you enjoyed the Manta snorkeling trip to Rabi Island – it's one of our favorites too. It is rewarding to hear that our concept resonated with you. Being small by design means that we can tailor our services at the resort and when diving with only four dive guests per boat. Being the closest dive operation to the Rainbow Reef, only 5 boat minutes from the Great White Wall, gives the flexibility to adapt the dive schedule to the local conditions. An important detail as half an hour makes all the difference between a great and an average dive given the changing tides and currents. Your kind words about our Fijian cuisine mean a lot to our chefs. We hope you'll return soon to further indulge in Fijian culture, food, and diving on the Rainbow Reef and beyond.

We feel lucky to stay in the Viani Bay Resort for 5 days before the new year. The place is very tranquil and the bungalow is very comfortable to live in. During the stay, the team took care of us to their best to make us comfortable. Highly recommended to anyone who loves authentic Fijian experience and diving.

Our team was eager to finally welcoming guests again and it makes our day to hear that you loved our personalized services. It was our greatest pleasure to treat you to our delicious Fijian cuisine and show you the beautiful Rainbow Reef with its abundant underwater world. Ganz herzlichen Dank fuer diesen tollen Review. Es freut uns, dass Ihr Euch von Anfang bis Ende so wunderbar betreut gefühlt habt. Genau so soll es ja sein, denn der Urlaub beginnt mit der Planung. Unser Koechinnen freuen sich sehr ueber das Lob zu unseren Mahlzeiten und der liebevollen Tischdekoration. Inzwischen haben wir nochmal eine Schippe draufgelegt und koennen mit guten Gewissen sagen, dass wir zum wohl besten fidschianischen Restaurant in der Gegend geworden sind. Das Rainbow Reef gehoert zu den besten Tauchgebieten der Welt. Um die volle Schönheit zu erfahren, passen wir die Tauchgaenge den aktuellen Stroemungs- und Windverhaeltnissen an. Es ist schoen zu hoeren, dass wir Euch ein einmaliges Tauchererlebnis bieten konnten. Inzwischen haben wir noch eine weitere Lodge fuer Gaeste, 3 Boote fuer je 4 Tauchgäste, das Restaurant wurde mit einer 50qm überdachten Veranda erweitert, ... und auch sonst hat sich einiges getan. Die private und persönliche Atmosphäre ist geblieben. Vielleicht habt Ihr irgendwann mal wieder die Gelegenheit, den Weg zu uns zu machen. Wir würden uns riesig freuen, Euch wiederzusehen.
