Simply not worth the time or money. There are so many other spots in the area cheaper and tastier. Food overall was mediocre, with the seafood seemingly not very fresh.

This is a really specific restaurant with a specific experience. The menu is mostly lamb based, so if you don’t eat lamb it is scant. The night we went there were four of us and we all did the tasting menu. The servers are not staffed enough and are made to cook the meat table side but in a rushed way, so it’s unclear why they are made to do this. Our server was attentive but totally swamped between taking orders and having to cook the food. Having a hot plate on the table and lamb steam in your face was also not desirable. The food was fine, the server was doing her best, but it was all a weird experience and we definitely will not be going back. The food itself was okay but nothing special to warrant going back. Best thing was the scallop risotto.

There are many amazing places to eat in New York - this is not one of them. Don’t go here and if you do don’t get the tasting menu - really not great. The miso soup and sashimi were pretty good but then it went off the rails. Lamb tasted really off, dessert was inedible. Meal left my friend running for the bathroom. Waitress tried but they were super understaffed. Worst meal/service I’ve had in New York.

Im writing this from the table at this place. Honestly I don’t know who to blame cuz I feel bad for the waitress, she’s sweating. But it’s been two hours, our food hasn’t arrived, and she’s struggling. I’m scared to ask for another drink. Update: now that it’s over, my friends and I agreed, this had to have been our worst food experience in a long time. It felt fitting that our friend who suggested this horror, ended his meal in the bathroom with stomach issues. I never write reviews, but in this case I just had to warn others.

Went on a Wednesday at 8pm and there was hardly anyone there. Ambience was cozy and not too bright or loud — something I have come to appreciate when dining out in the city. While we were here on a summer night, I could easily see this being a go-to winter spot. Food was delicious and came out very quickly. We got the spicy lamb yakisoba and the addictive cabbage — enough food for a light meal for two!

Real recognize Real! 뉴욕 맨하탄에서 생와사비를 직접 갈아쓰는 집이 있을거라고 생각도 못했고, 일본현지에 있는 음식점을 온 것 처럼 Real Japanese Cuisine입니다. 사장님이 홋카이도 분이셔서 홋카이도 전통방식 퓨전으로 음식들을 준비하신다고 하는데, 정말 음식 하나하나가 유니크합니다. 세트로 나오는 회도 너무 신선하고, 디저트까지도 홋카이도 방식과 퓨전하셨더라구요. 뉴욕 한복판에서 진짜 일본음식을 원하신다면 강추 합니다.

분위기 너무 좋아요 홋카이도 출신 일본인 사장님의 영혼이 담긴 레스토랑이에요 ! 일본식당에 양고기가 있어서 처음에 의아했는데 홋카이도 지역에서는 많이 먹는다고 해요 직접말려 만드신 연어와 도미는 육포보다 훨씬 부드럽고 7살 아이도 잘 먹었어요 ! 사시미와 같이 나오는 와사비는 시판용 와사비가 아니라 “뿌리와사비”를 사용하신다고 합니다 !! 같이주문 유다이칵테일 (사장님성함) 짠맛 단맛 신맛을 다 느낄수있는 아주 특별한 맛이였어요 ! 야끼소바 연어구이도 너무나 맛있었어요 그리고 마지막으로 단팥을 곁들여먹는 치즈케이크와 생초콜릿은 놀라운 맛이였어요 !! 그거 아시나요 일본에 유명한 로이스 초콜릿이 홋카이도 초콜렛이라는 사실 !! 머문시간은 2시간도 안되었지만 홋카이도에 미식여행을 다녀 온 느낌을 받았어요 !! 뉴욕에서 홋카이도를 경험하고 싶으시다면 여기 무조건 방문하세요

Really great atmosphere, food and people.

Just an awful experience as voiced by other patrons. We stopped by only because this was open late. Their ratings speak volume about servers inattentiveness, below average food quality and taste and highway robbery menu prices. Warning to future patrons of this establishment: just get drinks but stay far away from food. Mediocre at best, smh

Been here many times for downtown’s sceney parties or events, albeit only getting Sapporo drafts. The food however, is quite delicious at reasonable prices. I would recommend getting the addictive cabbage & uni fries as a starter. Super delicious. As for mains, I’ve had a few. The spicy yakisoba is quite delicious and the scallop risotto too. The salmon Chan-Chan is alright. The sashimi trio was fantastic, and at a good price for sashimi at $58. 7 pieces of each scallop, salmon, and yellowtail coming in at under $3 per. Not too bad if you ask me. If you’re going for date night I would recommend coming between like 6-8. Anything after that will become loud, especially on the weekends.

Came here tonight for a friends birthday and lovedddd this place so much! The staff was super friendly, very knowledgeable of the menu, and took their time to answer our questions. The vibe and layout of the restaurant also made it very easy to chat amongst a larger group, which is hard when coming to a place for a birthday party sometimes! I really appreciated that! We ordered a few orders of the uni fries which were delicious and then I ordered the lamb yakisoba but subbed for udon noodles. Decently tasty dish but I wish the portion was just a bit bigger! I honestly left still feeling kinda hungry. For drinks I grabbed the Sakura Sour which I thought was perfect. Definitely recommend that one!

We went here for our weekly date night. I had been before but my boyfriend was enjoying for the first time. We ordered the pre fix menu and it was okay. A few of the dishes fell a little short for us but others were very delicious. But it was nice to get a bit of everything for my boyfriend. The staff was very kind and helpful throughout the entire experience. A note to anyone hoping for a late reservation…karaoke started around 10:30pm and caught the tail end of our meal. If you’re in the vibe for that it’s great. If you’re trying to have a more secluded meal it can be distracting. Overall, we really enjoyed the evening.

Ate outdoors and spent $250 on poor service, poor food, and an unpleasant environment. For some reason the area and tables smelled like human waste despite having fans blowing air to keep customers cool. The food portions were extremely small and didn’t taste good. New York City has plenty of good food so save yourself and avoid this one.

That waitress with the full bangs and blonde hair was the rudest server I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting. She took our plates without checking, she’d slam the plates down, she’d spill food while serving, she’d never explain what she was serving, she’d ignore us— like absolute worst. The food was also subpar for the price. Nothing special about “hokkaido” cuisine either. Do not eat here. Absolutely terrible. To that waitress that served us— We know you hate your job but you shouldn’t take it out on your customers.

Amazing salmon with enoki and apps, great whiskey selection, cute cocktails

暗すぎて料理全く見えないし写真も撮れませんでした。そして飲み物が来ない&濃すぎて飲みきれませんでした。 ジンギスカンは若干臭くザンギ(唐揚げ)をオススメします。。 期待していただけに少し残念でした。
