Our night was ruined by the manager named Tatiana. Getting told “there is absolutely no chance you’re getting a dinner table. Not a chance” by the manager at a Michelin star restaurant right by the bar in a rude manner is not how we wanted to start the night. By the way, we had a bar reservation made and were simply asking if there were any cancellations for dining table last night. At our bar seat, we got to see our sommelier taking shots by the bar between serving his customers. What a terrific view while eating Michelin dinner!

we came here for Thanksgiving dinner this year. overall the food had highlighted moments but the experience was just 'pretty good' in my opinion. I'm rating 4 stars because of a few dishes that blew me away. had I been the one paying for the dinner (my family paid) I would be giving this 3 stars.
Maybe because of its Michelin Star I expected much more but there were some inherent problems that degraded my experience. the biggest problem was the service; the bar staff and waiter / waitress staff seemed to be on a completely different page than the kitchen and serving assistants. the kitchen and serving assistants were functioning like clockwork, a well oiled machine that was always one step ahead of you. the front half of the restaurant was the opposite, seemingly very chill, lackadaisical, and floating around aimlessly, watching people eat, almost forgetting that they were at work.
we needed to ask for a waiter multiple times (which shouldn't be occurring at a restaurant of this level) and someone different was always sent to us. it seemed to take a team of 3 people to get a bottle of wine ordered. we waited so long for our bottle of wine to come and it was poured just minutes before our Duck for Two arrived. had we been served the duck before our bottle of wine, it have been a catastrophic mistake. this theme of inattentiveness from the wait staff was clear and apparent though our whole dinner. thankfully the serving assistants were there to (more than once) save the day. worst of all I told our waiter I had a nut allergy and he seemed to take note, said he understood and walked away. when our Duck Breast sides came along, we found there were nuts in the stuffing, something we weren't told about or made aware of. Thankfully my allergy isn't severe at all, as this mistake could have caused someone a lot of pain and strife.
now the food. the theme of 'duck' was almost nauseating by the time dessert came around. I understand it's the highlight but once the rubber duck shaped dessert came I had had enough of the subject. duck stuffing, duck pasta, duck breast, duck fat.. now the Duck Breast they're known for was crazy; I have never eaten something like that before and was relishing in every bite. the Souffle Cakes were exquisite. and the pasta I had was melting me away. the duck shaped dessert was simply not very good, but maybe it's because I was over eating duck at that point.
maybe the poor service was because it was Thanksgiving night? Holiday nights can be tough for restaurants, but I likely won't be returning unless someone else picks up the bill or I find myself having a desperate craving for those souffle cakes.

Came here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. We arrived early but ended up having to wait even past our reservation time. Not something I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. The food was good, (I loved the shrimp and that the fries were super crispy) but the service was not. It felt like we were an afterthought. The only exception is the sommelier, who was awesome. When I made the reservation I was sure to point out we were there for a birthday but there was almost no acknowledgment of it while we were there (even though I saw tables near us getting dessert treats with candles, presumably in celebration of birthdays). It’s a small thing, but I feel shows the lack of attention to detail here. Comparing the price to the service we got, I don’t think I’ll be back.

The food & service are NOT true Michelin quality.
At first I wasn't going to bother writing a review of my pretty bad experience at Francie, but then I thought, others should be informed before deciding to spend their time & a few hundred dollars on a lackluster meal.
The souffle cakes with seaweed butter & caviar sounded enticing, but proved to be disappointing, as they're just pretentious canapes. Perhaps if Golden Ossetra caviar was used that would elevate the taste. Regarding the ravioli with lobster, while the texture of the pasta & lobster were done well, the dish was oversauced & the flavors not well-balanced. The others at my table who tried my dish agreed, it wasn't very good. And their own dishes (the pappardelle & the pork cotoletta, a.k.a. a pork chop) although ok, they wouldn't eat again. Overall, the meal was so underwhelming that we weren't inspired to try any desserts.
Also to be mentioned was the sad service we received. The hostess who led us to our table didn't smile or welcome us, nor did our servers. They were so cold & uninviting, that the negative energy they emanated was palpable, as if it pained them to do their jobs. And when someone doesn't want to do their job, you clearly feel it, by way of their stern facial expressions, & hear it in their tone of voice when they speak to you. It's very uncomfortable. Adding to that discomfort is watching & listening to your servers make fun of a customer (& that could be you next time), which is completely inappropriate. It creates unnecessary tension when you're just trying to have a relaxing meal.
Although we're blessed to be able to afford expensive meals, no one enjoys wasting money & feeling let down. Thankfully our loss wasn't greater because it was just an average Saturday for us. But if you're planning to celebrate a special event at Francie, such as a birthday, an anniversary, or a holiday, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU MAKE A RESERVATION ELSEWHERE.
If you do want a true upscale experience of delicious Italian food by a Michelin-starred chef's chef, I do recommend the newly opened Locanda Verde at Hudson Yards. The 2nd floor is quite special - a beautiful ambiance, where the waitstaff is warm, professional, & impeccably dressed. In fact, my experience at Locanda was so lovely that it reminded me just how bad Francie was in comparison; hence my inspiration to write this review.
TL;DR: Don't eat at Francie; it's not worth it.

Francie was a delightful dinner. A near flawless execution from the kitchen accompanied by a warm and hospitable service from everyone. Duck appears to be the theme, as it shows up in most courses (including dessert).
We ate as much as two people could manage and the standouts for us were: the mortadella, duck sausage, truffle agnolotti, pork Cotoletta (superb), and of course the crown of duck. We also enjoyed a single dessert, the Canard au Citron (pictured).

Chef Cipollone and his team have developed one of the finest dining experiences in NYC. Francie is remarkable in every sense. The cuisine is inspired, creative, and delicious, the staff is top notch, and the space is beautiful. Francie's Michelin Star is well deserved. Fun fact: they have a cheese cart! Which some say is the last remaining cheese cart in the city.

Came here for my fiancés birthday - it was an absolute delight. The duck is superlative, the pasta was also absolutely delicious but I’m going to give ‘star of the show’ award to the Foie Gras Canele - possibly the best bite of food available in NYC right now.
Will live long in the memory.
Hosting is warm & familial. An old school hospitality that’s very much in the New York tradition.
We left delighted, especially my fiance who had a really memorable time - an easy 5*s

The food at this restaurant was amazing! Staff was super kind and the manager (or owner) even explained to us how they make the dishes. The pasta was definitely one of a kind and I definitely recommend trying that. The duck was also REALLY good. Bathrooms were very clean. The only negative thing was that the restaurant was pretty loud. Other than that it was amazing and I would definitely come back.👍🔥🔥🔥

We are thrilled to be here for the first time! This place is absolutely amazing. The food is delicious—truly on par with a 7-star hotel. We’ve tried the ravioli, a selection of snacks, and the duck pasta, and each dish has been a delight. We’re so glad we chose to come here!
