A magical experience My partner and I canoed from Hereford to Ross-on-Wye over two days in July. I had never canoed before and it was absolutely BRILLIANT. I could not recommend enough. Hereford Canoe Hire give the perfect balance between ensuring that you have everything that you need and allowing a trip where you feel like you’re out in nature independently. Nothing was too prescriptive and we were able to take our own pace on the river. It is absolutely beautiful - so peaceful and at points you feel like you are in a different world. The wildlife is unbelievable.Tresseck campsite was brilliant.Andy was so warm and accommodating- if you are planning a canoe trip on the Wye, don’t book with anyone else! He ensures the perfect balance of ensuring that you are safe and creating an “authentic” experience on the river.Thank you for a wonderful experience, we will definitely be back next year.

A lovely afternoon paddle The booking was easy and the cost reasonable. There was parking at the meeting point and it was only £3 for the day. A minibus ride to the start and good instructions given both on technics and route. The equipment was all in good condition with dry barrels available for personal belongs. The journey was approx 8 1/2 miles and with 3 adults we completed in under 3 hours including a stop for a picnic lunch. It was so peaceful, with lovely scenery and wildlife, we saw many herons. A few water shallows, mini rapids and fisherman to navigate along the way but this added to the fun. We will definitely do again if in this neck of the woods. Thank you Andy for your assistance in making this a great experience and for the photos sent after.

Fantastic Experience for any age group including over 60s Fantastic experience, well organised , easy to book with plenty of info from the team, as easy or hard as you want to make it. We took it easy and completed the run in 3 hours. Highly recommend it for any age,the scenery and solitude is amazing.

Nice view It is a wonderful experience in my life. The place is very beautiful. I really like visiting here.Anyone can visit the place if they want.

Don’t miss this! If you’re anywhere near this place, DO NOT miss taking some time out and getting a canoe down the river! It’s such a lovely journey, you’ll love it! Scenery, wildlife, peace and tranquility! We left Luckshall to take a leisurely trip down river, it’s not strenuous at all and the guys are at the end to drop you back off! Andy was a great host! He was professional, pleasant and nothing was too much trouble! He even offered to drop us to the pub later on the evening if we wanted him to! Well worth the money!

So beautiful and peaceful My Dad and I did a five day canoe trip down the river Wye and had such a lovely time. Andy and his team at Hereford canoe hire were so friendly helpful in organising our trip route and where to stay, answering our questions and making sure we were set and ready to go. Would highly recommend!

A lovely day’s activity 🛶 We love going down the river from Tressick campsite to Ross-on-wye, where we enjoyed the scenery and many sightings of the kingfisher and other various water birds.

Blissful afternoon on the river A fabulous afternoon... totally peaceful, no traffic noise for the whole stretch which was lovely. We saw 5 Kingfishers:) Really well organised and just the right length of time to be paddling.

Professional, good equipment, outstanding customer service, yet personal. This was our third consecutive multi-day 'expedition' trip with Hereford Canoe Hire in as many years, and we will be back next year. I'm usually reserved in reviews ('excellent' and 'five out of five' are overused), but in my experience Hereford Canoe Hire are genuinely fantastic: professional, with good equipment, yet also highly personable and, thanks to Andy and Will, some of the best customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. (I've been doing this with our daughter, who was nine, ten, and/or eleven respectively during these trips, and they were really good with her as well.) I'd recommend them highly for any outing but, in particular, if you are interested in the kind of multi-day trips that we have been doing down the river from campsite to campsite with everything int he canoe, then they are superb for that. Looking forward to seeing them again next summer.
