Awesome place to stay in Freeport My husband and I recently spent a night here and we had a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Blue room and found it to be very charming and cozy. The owners Bill and Mary Ann were wonderful hosts. Bill picked us up at the train station to save us from having to carry luggage up a steep hill, and he made a delicious breakfast for us. The inn is in the perfect location for accessing the many shops and restaurants in Freeport. I highly recommend the James Place Inn, and we hope to stay there again in the near future!

Fall escape Wonderful Bed and Breakfast in a lovely town. We enjoyed our stay in Freeport. Bill and Mary Ann run a clean, comfortable in. Breakfast was delicious and the pine room was co cozy. Bill kindly recommended several favorite restaurants and helped us with information on next days travel. Would definitely recommend.

Checked all the boxes☑️ Our stay at the James Place Inn in Freeport Maine checked all the boxes! From our arrival greeting by owner Bill, our cozy Pine Room with comfy bed, great recommendations for dinner options and shopping nearby (we opted forJameson Tavern for dinner and didn’t miss out on visiting the LL Bean flagship store), an amazing cooked breakfast preceded by freshly baked blueberry scones, and wonderful tasty coffee to travel tips for our next stop at Acadia NP, our stay definitely checked all the boxes for the perfect overnight during our travels in Maine. And it was topped off just before our departure with a special treat for all dog lovers…we got to meet Balder the owners’ adorable and charming Newfoundland! Bill even sent us on our way with extra Maine blueberry scones for our travels! Thank you for the wonderful BnB experience, we would definitely return to the Inn next time we travel to Maine.

Charming Inn with Lovely Hosts Hospitality at its finest! Bill and Mary Ann will spoil you with a delicious breakfast every morning including fresh fruit, yogurt, warm scones, beverages, and a hot main course that changes every day. The Inn is cozy and welcoming and our room was very charming. The bathroom was quite small but larger ones are available. We also enjoyed the Adirondack chairs and a fully stocked firepit in the front yard. And the location is ideal...a quick walk into town for shopping, dining, and free concerts on the lawn at LL Bean! All in all a great experience. Would love to return!

Really nice place to stay in Freeport We only stayed at The James Place Inn for one night in August 2024 in Freeport, ME. It is a really nice inn. The Blue Room was very nicely decorated and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The inn is special also because the owner Bill and Mary Ann Hinko are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Bill volunteered to pick us up, at the LL Bean Paddling Center outside Freeport, at the end of our canoe trip. Mary Ann volunteered to drive us to the Portland airport to pick up a rental car. She would have driven us for nothing, but we insisted on paying because she was saving us money and, as importantly, the inconvenience from having to try to get Uber or Lyft to pick us up. It was iffy if we would have been able to get Uber or Lyft to pick us up in Freeport without great cost and or in a timely manner. The inn is just a few minutes walk from Main Street, restaurants, LL Bean, and the outlet stores. We would have stayed at the inn longer if we had not been driving up to Acadia National Park. This is the place we will want to stay at when we visit Freeport again. Thank you Bill and Mary Ann for being such great hosts and nice to Jean, our friends with us, and me. You have a well deserved, great reputation for your hospitality.

Great Inn. Great location. This Inn was lovely. Maryann and Bill were great! We enjoyed the hot breakfast served each day and the rooms were beautiful. The location is great…just a 2 block walk to center of town where we shopped and dined. Nice low key location compared to the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor (the first part of our vacation). Easy drive to the Portland airport where we departed.

Excellent place to stay in Freeport We loved the place. The owner is very accommodating when it comes to an early breakfast or check-in. The room is comfortable and charming, yet with an A/C, which is uncommon in ME. The location is perfect. It's within walking distance from the village, LL Bean, and other local attractions.

A great stay at the James Place Inn. First visited the James Place Inn back in 1998 and it was great! Came back 26 years later to another great experience! Bill and Marianne are excellent hosts!!! Their assistant Alexis was great too! They were even able to get us in last minute. Thank you for a great stay!!!

Home away from home We just came back from the Freeport yesterday. This B7B was fabulous. The innkeepers Mar Ann and Bill Hinko are great hosts. They go out of their way to accommodate any and all requests. Bill loves to make breakfast and I do not eat allot of carbs. So he got almond flour and made keto pancakes. Just delicious. What a treat. It is in a great location. I especially like being a block of Main Street. Nice and quiet. Give it a try, you will be happy. Thanks MaryAnn and Bill
