LA Design + Construction Opinie

This is a review of their customer service not of their actual work. I’m sure based on other reviews and recommendations that their work is quite nice. Unfortunately, I could not get someone to follow through with giving me a quote for work on my house. I live right in town where they are located and everyone always highly recommended them so I filled out a request on their website for three small jobs I needed completed. These were not big projects, they were small jobs around my house that I explained in detail to them on the request on their website, asking for an estimate. Someone responded promptly and came to my house, he was very nice, at no point during that time did he indicate that these jobs were too small for them. He told me that they were a little behind and I would have the estimate in about 10 days.A month went by and I never heard from them. I reached out and asked if they could get me an estimate soon because I had other estimates coming in. They apologize for the delay and said they would have it to me in a week, well it’s been seven months. I never heard from them again and I did not bother to reach out because I feel that if you can’t at least take the time to give me an estimate, you don’t value me very much as a customer. In speaking with a neighbor, they had this exact same experience where it was not a big job and no one ever gave them the estimate after coming out. I share this because I think they probably do excellent work and maybe The management there should be looking into what is going on. I would have had no issue if they came and told me these jobs are too small for them, but I think it is so rude to come out act interested in the job and then never respond again. Fortunately, I was able to find other good quality businesses to help me with what I needed to get done.

We had a fantastic experience renovating our new home with LA Design + Construction. Kevin met with us and did a walk-through of all of the projects we had in mind, offering helpful advice and expertise. We received an estimate that thoroughly itemized the work to be done as well as materials involved. Once construction was underway, Kevin oversaw and managed his team throughout the entire process, and also made sure to ask us about details we may have otherwise overlooked. We are so happy with the quality of the work and the speed at which LA was able to complete it. We highly recommend Kevin and the crew at LA Design + Construction and will definitely be calling them in the future.

My wife and I hired LA Design & Construction for home renovations - complete redoing of a bathroom, a new HVAC (split unit) system, painting, new light fixtures, and more. We were VERY happy with their work / services. They communicated clearly, the project managers were a pleasure to deal with, their budgets for materials were realistic, their interior designer was very helpful and patient, and they made sure our satisfaction was top priority. Any little thing that wasn't to our satisfaction was addressed in a timely manner. We were nervous about hiring a contractor, but they earned our trust for future work.

Amazing experience with the roofing team. They were fast, clean and attentive. Kevin is responsive and a dream to work with!

My basement got flooded week between Christmas and new years. They came SAME DAY and didn’t leave until all the carpet was ripped out and dry wall was cut (well past dinner time). I talked to another company and they couldn’t even get someone out to assess the damage until the next morning. These guys work fast and efficient. They came the next day to disinfect again. I’ve already encountered multiple people from their crew and everyone has been professional and even nice… which isn’t always guaranteed. Will update the review once restoration/repairs are completed.

Larry from LA Design and his team did a great job executing our vision for outdoor entrances to our headquarters building that serves many families from the community. He helped us come up with creative solutions to a few challenges, and worked hard to make sure we loved the finished job -- which we do! Excellent work. Thank you!

Wanted to drop a quick review…I never really do this but had a great experience with LA construction. Matt and his crew are awesome. We had a small project that I just wasn’t willing to take on myself and we called the right guys. They came in and seamlessly put in a new door for us. Matt said when he measured that “we’ll get the door in quick and it will look like we weren’t even here”. Very impressed. Would recommend and use them again!

Excellent workmanship! Quality work, people, responsiveness. I highly recommend this company for anything you might to do! They rescued me from a terrible construction experience and I won’t use anyone else for work.

“Water damage” must be two of the most horrifying words a home owner can hear. After ServPro completely dropped the ball on mitigation services (apparently, they “should lose their mitigation license” over their negligence and ineptitude), thankfully the insurance company recommended LA Design. Anthony was twice as responsive and professional as ServPro was not, and he immediately took control and mitigated not just all the damage/ mold, but also my anxiety. His repair crew (thank you, Joe!) was prompt, fast, polite, professional, and conscientious, and everything was done in a satisfactorily timely manner. Also, Anthony was communicative every step of the way, and eased all my insurance concerns. Thanks again LA Design! I hope I don’t need you again anytime soon, but I’m definitely saving your contact info.

I had a horrible mishap that occurred in my condo unit late July 2022 re fire sprinkler water damage. After mitigation was completed I needed to hire a contractor that could assist with the repairs needed and was very overwhelmed as not many contractors want to deal with insurance companies! Larry Sr. was my life-saver and angel. He arrived mid Oct. and put my mind at ease that he could help me with this disaster on my hands. This company has experience working along with insurance companies which all may know can be literally draining/exhausting! Larry Sr. told me once started on the job he stays with the job until completed and this did happen! The job took 2.5 weeks for completion with repairing walls; ceilings; painting walls and ceilings that occurred from water/chemical damages; grouting floors; and entire cleaning up of unit. His whole team was clean and got the job done in no time; the work was PERFECT and I was able to sell this unit in no time after this disaster! If anyone has to hire a company with the same type of work needed like me PLEASE call LA Design & Contractors as the job will get done and right with Larry Sr. and his exceptional team workers! Larry Sr. spent time during the repair work texting and calling me with updates with the job and along with insurance information. Larry Sr. and the LA Design Contractors are FIVE STARS PLUS!!! CALL THEM NOW YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

Very Happy with the services preformed by LA Design and Consultation. Larry Sr. and Anthony, the foreman were very professional and responsive. They took care of all the needs of my job from start to finish and the project ran very smoothly. I would recommend them and use them again.

I have used LA Construction on three different projects and was very impressed with their work and found them to be professional and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend them.

Last year our home suffered hail damage resulting in the need to replace almost everything on the exterior of our home which we have owned for 29 years. We needed to find experts in an area in which we had no experience. After interviewing 15 contractors, all of whom were recommended, we decided to work with Larry Steimel Sr. and LA Design because of their great reputation and expertise. It is important to remember that we undertook this project when building materials were experiencing weekly price increases (literally) and availability was scarce. In short, Larry’s team goes over and above what was promised. Every. Day. Before we discuss project details, Larry and LA Design’s value is not just as an exceptional builder and contractor. Larry is someone whom insurance companies and their adjusters rely on to evaluate insurance claim “issues.” This helped us enormously before the project began. When I showed Larry our insurance company's engineer’s hail damage report, he immediately stated that there was far more damage than I had been aware of. One of Larry's specialists spent several hours inspecting the exterior of our property. He then created a report, complete with the required Xactimate Estimate and scores of pictures to support his findings/conclusions. Mr. Steimel then worked directly with the insuror, on our behalf, resulting in our receiving multiple times the amount initially offered to provide. We were not charged this service. Back to the project which involved: • Creation of roof extensions on all sides of the house • Removing/replacing the roof/skylights/fan • Removing 2 layers of siding and insulation, replacing with new siding & house wrap • Removing/replacing gutters & leaders • Replacement of 10 windows with new construction windows (which require interior finishing work) • Replacement of lower deck sliding door (finishing work also required) • Portico creation (drawings, permits, inspections) and building precisely to spec • Removing/replacing limestone sills, stair treads & front-of-house landing with bluestone • Rebuilding/pointing the brick front steps & landing • Replacing the railing on front steps and landing • Replacing garage doors & openers • Demoing/pouring a new garage apron • Removing/replacing the existing asphalt driveway • Staining front of the house brick and chimney (multiple colors/coats) • Pointing brick around our in-ground pool and replacing a large limestone cap behind our pool area • Transforming the look of the entire house with wide white corners, freeze boards, wide/white trim and more • Aligning the back of the house with the two-story deck built 5 years earlier • Removing/replacing the shed roof and siding • Transforming the look of the shed to completely match The project was complex, with many moving parts. Andrew Steimel, the project manager, was on site daily and exhibited great attention to detail. Some FAQS: 1) Did the project start on time? It started 3 days BEFORE agreed! 2) How was the workmanship? LA Design has over 40 employees – carpenters, masons, siding experts, roofing experts, inside painters, outside painters, etc. They do superb work and extensively clean up every evening before departing 3) How long to complete the project? 5 weeks from start to punch list and the extreme June & July heat didn’t impact at all. 4) Were there any issues? Yes, but they were minor….all immediately addressed and rectified (often same day) 5) Any damage to landscaping/shrubs? Minor and all grew back within a month 6) Did the budget hold? Absolutely! In fact, the team went above and beyond at no charge! They treated our home as if it was their own 7) Responsiveness? They instantaneously responded to text messages & answered all calls regardless of time/day! Some texts resulted in immediate phone conversations, saving time and eliminating potential misunderstandings 8) Are we satisfied? On a scale of 0 to 100, I would score them 200! I could not recommend them more highly! 9) Would we use them again? We absolutely will!

Excellent experience from start to finish. One key feature here is having a Project Manager overseeing the work and inspecting along the way. Will use again!

Quality, dedication, professionalism, true to word, trustworthy, helpful, knowledgable, accommodating, timely, reputable...we can go on and on. Larry and his crew were top notch. Choosing to have our house sided was a very big decision for us. We dragged our heels for years as we wanted to keep the country esthetic of the home and were afraid that vinyl siding would distract from it. The LA Design & Construction team assured us that the esthetics would be enhanced versus lost. They were absolutely correct. Their recommended choice of siding color for us was spot on. We are so very happy with the final result. Recently, we had to have some outside gas line pipes refitted into the house. LA Design & Construction sent over someone to remove a few of the siding pieces to enable the plumber to do his job. Once the plumbing job was finished, they accommodated us again and had the siding put back in place. THANK YOU!! As a sidebar, our work was done during the bitter cold of winter and a blizzard. Ensuring the safety of the crew was first and foremost on Larry's mind and ours. We were so incredibly impressed with the work ethic and craftsmanship abilities of the fellas who continued to show up every day to get the job done. Such hardy, dedicated and skilled employees! LA Design & Construction checked off all of our boxes and then some. They certainly are a fantastic company to work with and we highly recommend that you consult and hire them for your next project! We cannot express our appreciation enough for the phenomenal craftsmanship that Larry & his crew did for us. We needed an handicap-accessible bathroom and bedroom after my husband's surgery. We had limited space in our cape-style house. He made use of every inch---creating a beautiful and stylish master bedroom suite with accessible bathroom, walk-in closet, barn doors. Where new wood flooring was needed, sanding and staining impeccably matched the old. The new crown molding matched perfectly. Although we were out of town during this project, it was as if we were there in person. Larry communicated with us daily. He took all of the concerns away from us, even storing and preserving our paintings, furniture and clothing. LA Design is a company of Excellence!

Using LA Design and Construction was the best decision we made when deciding to remodel our master bath. From the initial consult, to the design, support on finishes, the build, and constant updates on the plan, Larry and his crew were total professionals. They truly went above and beyond and the finished project exceeded our expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment in using them again for any project.

Andrew and his crew always reported for work on time. Andrew kept us up to date with their progress. They did excellent work and cleaned up and we highly recommend them.
