School Leadership - 5/5 As a small school, Lodestar benefits from a highly responsive and approachable management team. The Principal, Administrator, and Guides are always open to engaging with parents. I recall raising a concern about certain behaviors I noticed in my son, and the school promptly arranged a meeting the next day. The Principal and Guides were present, creating a supportive environment where we openly discussed strategies to boost my child’s confidence and leadership skills. They provided actionable insights on what the school could do and how I could complement these efforts at home. This responsiveness is a hallmark of the school's dedication to fostering a strong partnership with families. Teaching and Learning - 5/5 The Guides are well-trained in the Montessori philosophy, and their relationships with students nurture intrinsic leadership, self-awareness, proactiveness, and gentleness. The multi-grade classroom setting initially raised some hesitations for me, as I have two children in different levels at the school. However, I’ve seen firsthand how this setup enhances their learning. For instance, while studying the same topic, my P5 child delves deeper into complex concepts, while my P2 child masters foundational aspects of the subject. This tailored approach ensures that each child’s academic progress is addressed individually, fostering both depth and breadth of understanding. Facilities and Holistic Development - 4/5 As a small school, Lodestar does not have the extensive facilities of larger international schools in Singapore. However, it compensates with superb teaching and the Montessori method, which focuses on maximizing available resources. The school makes creative use of its open spaces and frequently organizes outdoor trips that complement its holistic educational approach. These experiences align with Montessori principles of learning through exploration and real-world engagement. As most families at Lodestar are expats working in Singapore, we are sadly leaving the school due to a job relocation to the U.S. My family is truly saddened to leave the Lodestar community. If we find ourselves back in Singapore in the future, I would not hesitate to re-enroll my younger, primary-age daughter in the school. For families seeking a strong foundation for their elementary-aged children, Lodestar Montessori School offers an excellent blend of academic rigor and holistic development. The school's dedicated teachers, responsive management, and nurturing Montessori environment make it an outstanding choice.

Without a doubt the best choice we made on behalf of our daughter was to choose Lodestar Montessori for her pre-school education. In two years, she was transformed from a shy, unassuming 4 year old into a confident girl, a natural leader and great friend to all. 100% in saying this is a wonderful school.

According to me education is the way of life and unfortunately, we missed the path somewhere and fell in different place than it should be. It made me worried and confused when I think about my children's education until I learn about Lodestar Montessori from My Friends. Our elder son Shanmukh joined lodestar 2 years ago and the results we see in his social and emotional skills are significant. He does his own regular activities like making bed, eat himself, wash hands, dress himself put back things in their place from past a year. He is thankful for the people who help him, and his resentment has dropped significantly. His clarity of thoughts and social skills are amazing me from past few months. The way he danced on stage in front adult audience with confidence and joy make me almost teary eyed. My Younger Son Atharv started going lodestar Montessori less than a year. He improved his social and communication skills. Learnt to eat himself, express his needs and what made me amazed is that he showers himself in organized way for just 3 years!!!!The way our both children run for school joyfully every morning allows me to say that guides here are mothers for the children. I feel secured emotionally and physically sending my kids to lodestar and believe everyone else feels the same :) Thanks to Lodestar Montessori family for treating our children like yours!!!!

I have so many things to say that I don't know where to start!! I am a very protective Mom who was anxious and nervous about sending my child to Lodestar Montessori Pre School as I had an unpleasant experience sending my child to other school in the past. However, Lodestar Montessori School won me over very quickly and allayed all my fears! Choosing this Montessori for my little one turned out to be one of the best decision I have ever made. The classroom/environment set up was amazing filled with beautifully designed hands-on materials that seemed to invite my child's curiosity and also fostered a deep love for learning. Seeing him immerse himself in activities like cutting papers, pouring water, matching shapes etc, I could tell he was slowly developing a sense of focus and co-ordination that I hadn't witnessed before. All the Guides played a crucial role in guiding him without imposing, allowing him to make choices within the environment. It embraced his natural inclination to explore and learn at his own pace. In a mixed- age classroom, he learned to interact with different age group children, gaining valuable life lessons like emapathy, co-operation and leadership. It has been a very joyous and fulfilling journey for Zephyr and us with Lodestar Montessori School for 6 years at primary and previously at the preschool. I am grateful and completely indebted to the teachers at Lodestar Montessori into shaping Zephyr into an independent, virtuous and gracious individual. Along with his prowess in Math and languages, more importantly Lodestar has inculcated soft - skills like discipline, perseverance, thoughtfulness, and respect for all in him. I am sure that whatever Zephyr chooses to become and later wherever he chooses to study, the foundation given to him by the Lodestar team, will as rightly named act as a beacon and guiding star through out his life. Zephyr, my grandson has graduated this year from Lodestar Montessori School. My sincere thanks to all the guides and support staff who have been part of his academic as well as social and emotional progress. Zephyr is developing into a mature and responsible person who has no inhibitions and prejudices towards anybody. I have no doubt that he will excel in all his future endeavours. Thank you to all the staff at Lodestar Montessori Preschool for the guidance, care and love shown to our girl! She is growing and maturing so well. We see improvement in her emotional self-regulation, practical life skills as well as language capabilities. Sometimes when she gets angry/upset, she is able to go to her room, close the door and cool down on her own. She is also more open to learn cookng at home and sometimes tidies up on her own accord. In her spare time, she practices writing her name, reads aloud on her own and sings both English and Chinese songs. She will even try to respond in Chinese when I speak to her in that language! She loves school so much that she tries to take care of herself by getting enough rest every day. There is definitely much more joy and ease looking after her now. It also brings us immense joy (and relief) to see her enjoying learning and developing her personhood.

I am extremely impressed with the Montessori method used by Lodestar Montessori school. The guides at Lodestar Montessori are also outstanding. They are trained in the Montessori method and are able to provide individualized attention and support to each child. They are patient, understanding, and encourage the children to ask questions, explore and discover new things. The guides also provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children to learn and grow. I have noticed that the children at Lodestar Montessori are incredibly confident, curious and independent. They are able to think critically and problem-solve. Their social and emotional skills have also developed well, they are able to work well with their peers and have a strong sense of community. Overall, I highly recommend Lodestar Montessori school. The Montessori method is an excellent approach to education that has helped the children in the school to develop a love of learning, independence and self-motivation. The guides at Lodestar Montessori are passionate, dedicated, and provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the children to thrive in.

Our daughter spent six years across Lodestar preschool and the elementary school-LMS. The school helped ignite the passion for learning and discovery in her. The focus on character development has helped her grow as an independent individual- confident enough to try out new things and chart her own learning. Stories are an integral part of the Montessori method and she loves reading and writing. Stories about the formation of the universe, mankind,languages, numbers- all help generate interest and curiosity. The materials used in the classrooms helped her to understand the concepts well - thus building a solid base for further learning. The teachers- Ms Christine, Ms Sheila, Lao Shei, Ms Shweta are loving and nurturing- providing guidance while following the ethos of observation and letting the child lead. We would highly recommend Lodestar for parents wishing to have their children grow up as independent, confident individuals with a thirst for self directed life-log learning coupled with the key characteristics of empathy and respect.

All my children thoroughly enjoyed their experience in Lodestar Preschool. It was a second home for them, where their space to discover beauty and grow intellectually were fiercely protected by their passionate and loving guides. Their preschool journey prepared them not just for primary school, but more importantly, for life.

My daughter started with Lodestar Montessori at age 5. She is now doing her P3 in elementary school. She is very happy with the environment. We are happy too seeing her evolution in all the directions. All the guides are amazing. We enrolled our son in the middle of his second grade, from a mainstream school. It was the best decision I have made in my life! I have watched and enjoyed, and eased into nurturing my son, simply by enabling him to thrive in a wonderful environment. His confidence and self esteem had been broken due to racism, bullying, and feeling alienated. It has been so rewarding to just watch him come to himself, and explore the world full of possibilities with curiosity. We have since, within a short span of 6 months, developed a nurturing parent-child relationship too. And I feel this is the foundation I would like to give my child - for him to develop and grow by feeling empowered to learn and contribute in meaningful ways. I have nothing but gratitude for Lodestar Montessori School, and its philosophy of education that has enabled healing, growth and learning, for me as a parent and my child.

My child started her journey here. We were impressed the way she enjoyed, explored and explained things to us she learnt at school. What more does a child need when they enjoy what they learn with the able guidance of Ms.Sheila. Highly recommend this school.

My child started her schooling here from the age of 3 till she was 8. I would say that was the best thing that ever happenend to her.Its worth paying a visit to the school before parents think of other alternate schooling options in Singapore.
