Well organised practice, with excellent digital channels to communicate to optimise delivery. The practice is well integrated into Hertfordshire's NHS network and so are able to triage to provide quick and effective treatment by phone, acute clinic, hospital etc. I ASKED to provide feedback based on the quality of experience, rather than sent loads of requests. Thank you. As context I’ve been living around for many years so have been using private services, so low expectations. I actually went to a private GP because of this, but treated me with lack of sensitivity, so went to NHS.

You are left in a difficult position when so few practices accept NHS patients, but would strongly recommend getting a place elsewhere if you can. £26 for an NHS check up that is cursory at best. If you accept a clean you get an extra few minutes and then charged nearly £100. From previous experience with NHS and private dentists and hygienists, what you receive at the Maltings is extremely poor. The absolute kicker is that they force you into 6 month follow ups. The dentist admitted there was no clinical reason for this, just a management policy. At 5 months they start sending you multiple email reminders that threaten to take your NHS access away. So the money-making cycle starts again.

The online form submission is much preferable to hanging about on the phone to try and get an appointment. The doctors are always kind and knowledgeable.

Excellent service. I filled in the online form this morning for two appointments - one for me and one for my daughter - we were seen within 90 minutes. The Doctor was excellent too. Well done to all the team!

Lovely Drs. Access is great and really works for me. They use a wide range of communication platforms to get in touch. Rpt Px never an issue. Good use of EPS so everything sent to my chemist. Top marks!

EDIT: It's been a few years since I posted the original review, and I have to admit that Maltings Surgery has changed for the better. They are always there when needed and appointments are scheduled very quickly. I'm changing my rating from 1 to 5. Well deserved. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Today was the 10th time when I called and was refused a visit. After spending more than 40 minutes in the phone queue, the lady told me they are not taking any more bookings and that I should call tomorrow again. When asked why she couldn't simply add me to tomorrow's list, she said they're not doing that. The surgery is running a one day long list of patients!!! they haven't heard of a tried and true process of scheduling ahead !!! It's not important how good the doctors are there, if you can't reach them. I'll be looking for another surgery, and I suggest you do the same.

Very professional and caring. Super easy to book, the online system allows to explain the symptoms and add pictures which is very helpful for the professional to see before the phone consultation. I have changed my GP to Maltings since with my previous GP, it was impossible to book even a phone call or get any follow-up. I’ve been very happy with the care and attention I received from Maltings GP practice, especially Dr Deborah Bell. She was very attentive and thorough.

The best GP surgery I had been to in the entire UK. Everything was quick and the receptionists are polite and responsive. The GP was lovely.
