Stayed here for a works Christmas party, December 2024. We had a few doubts from reading reviews, however, the hotel was really nice with old charm and outstanding customer service. The swimming pool and sauna was a pleasure to use.

Good value accommodation which was ver comfortable in a former estate house with interesting history
☺ Room standard was excellent, bedding etc very clean. Breakfast was very basic but of a reasonable standard for the money

☺ Quietness/Security of locality and buildings were good as was room size and layout. Facilities were good too as was the quality and variation of food. Staff, generally, were helpful and courteous.
☹ Not easy to park and very busy on arrival due to black tie event being held. Main building like a rabbit warren and found one member of reception staff a little unhelpful. "Hot" breakfast was lukewarm/cool on the Sunday but good on Monday.

☺ It was perfect for celebrating our wedding evening.
☹ The hotel had 3 x Christmas parties in at the same time that we stayed and the bar had run out of beverages. There was no food available even as snacks so we had to drive out to McDonald’s, nit ideal after getting married.

☺ Good location
☹ Hotel did not respond to mails and nobody was at the reception for a late check in. We had to look everywhere to find a member of staff finally in the kitchen.

Attended a Christmas party. The venue is nice but too compartmentalised with small rooms so the disco was in a separate area to the dining. The food was meagre portions and poor quality. Advertised Christmas pudding which was a sponge with fruits and a teaspoon of custard. Several
