To escape the scorching heat the Adobe of clouds or i can say the cluster of mountains- Meghalaya is a perfect getaway. We had a warm welcome at Guwahati airport in Assamese style, our guide was very friendly and supportive. The best part was the changes in temperature right from Umiam lake to Shillong to Chirapunjee to Mawlynnong and last but not the least Dowki. We had our moments, made good memories across the water falls, falling in love with the scenic mountains with the touch of the clouds & in the lap of nature was single root bridges which made our trip a short and sweet memory which I always want to come back again. Thank you Rajiv, Anup & North East Explorers team for making us feel comfortable throughout our journey 💕

Rajiv curated a trip to fit our requirements for a 9-day vacation that included Kaziranga and Tawang. We didn't have to worry about a thing! The assigned driver, Ashiq was knowledgeable and great on mountain roads. The homestays that were selected were comfortable, located in towns close to shops/ walking paths and hosted by locals who were happy to share social time with us. We played with their dogs, hung out with local dancers, drank local brews and slept in warm cosy beds. We enjoyed this trip thoroughly and would recommend it for anyone who is too hassled about the planning but would love to visit the NE. We visited as a family of 3, with a 10yr old.

Fantastic experience - Rajiv is extremely knowledgeable about the NE area, has good network of drivers, guides and home stays. He understands your requirements and customises the tour accordingly. The cost is little bit on the higher side (as compared to DIY bookings), but you get more than what you pay for in terms of service & peace of mind - which is what you need during your vacation - Go for it, highly recommended!

We travelled to the Northeast for 8 days with North East Explorers. Right from planning to execution, Rajiv was always available when I had any questions or doubts. I travelled with my parents and Rajiv made sure that the itinerary was well suited for my parents too. Rajiv also helped us with Kamakhya temple visit. The Northeast can get a little tricky if you are a vegetarian. Our driver and guide, Apu made sure that we get good vegetarian food. Apu also provided information about the local culture and attractions. The homestays were neat and clean. All in all, we had a good experience with North East Explorers.

My wife and I wanted to do a trip to north east. As we haven't been there before, we wanted to have a guided trip. We stumbled upon North East Explorers and contacted Rajiv to plan the itinerary(kaziranga, bomdila, dirang, tawang) He planned everything and we didn't have to worry about a single thing. Everyday he was kind enough to check upon us to make sure we are comfortable throughout the trip. Rajiv left us in very good hands of our driver Nur who skillfully navigated in difficult terrain. Each homestay he booked for us was up to the mark. Thanks Rajiv to make our trip fun and memorable.

My cousin and I booked a trip to Meghalaya on a whim and we didn't have time to plan much. Hence we relied on Rajiv mostly for everything. As the reviews here were largely positive, we were not concerned about anything. True to what everyone has said here, Rajiv was extremely helpful and kept in touch with us throughout. He enquired about how our day went and was accommodating of changes to the trip when we wanted to add Kaziranga to the itinerary. The trip itself was wonderful and something that we won't forget. Meghalaya is beautiful and remains untouched in many places. Kaziranga has been preserved and maintained well. Rajiv made sure we got the best experiences in all of the spots we visited including an early morning elephant safari at Kaziranga. The homestays that were chosen were mostly good. My favourites were the ones in Kaziranga and Mawlynnong. The hosts were pleasant and we got delicious vegetarian food throughout the trip. Our homestay in Shillong however was not the best. Since we stayed there for 2 nights, in a barely heated room and had to deal with a not-so-pleasant staff person, it left a bitter taste in our mouth in an otherwise memorable trip. However, when we brought up the concern to Rajiv, he was prompt in responding to us and took swift action. Special mention to our driver Ricky for being professional throughout and navigating the challenging mountain roads well. Another shoutout to our guide, Shyam, in the double decker living root bridge trek. He kept our spirits high throughout and helped us enjoy the extremely strenuous trek. Once again, kudos to Rajiv and his team for a trip of our lifetime.

— For most of the tourists, Northeastern India is relatively unknown. The questions you might be having on your mind are - “Is this tour operator genuine? Is the area safe for tourists?” etc …Please be assured that, Northeast Explorers is a very genuine tour operator. — Their website is pretty good. All the tour options are described well. The inclusions/exclusions, the cancellation policy etc are also crystal clear. — The drivers provided are proficient and knowledgeable. — The tour packages are well planned. It is apparent that a lot of thought has gone into the sequence of places to visit. For example, a physically exhausting trek was planned on the last day of my trip. Has it been placed on the itinerary earlier, the rest of tour wouldn’t have been that enjoyable due to the body pains after the trek. — Rajiv, the owner of Northeast Explorers, is a helpful person. He is always just a ping away on WhatsApp. — My suggestion for tourists is - please come with an open mind. You might face a few minor issues with the complementary breakfast and the rooms. If you do face such issues, please get in touch with Rajiv to have it sorted. Sometimes, the hotels/homestay try to cut corners. But Rajiv has his heart in the right place and genuinely goes to great lengths to provide his customers a good vacation experience. So I cannot blame him for the minor inconveniences which you might have. The moment you step out of your home, some inconveniences are inevitable. Accepting this fact, makes things easier. Northeast Explorers is a great option to consider if you are planning to visit Northeast India.

3750 kms - the distance from Kochi, Kerala to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The distance in terms of climate, culture and terrain, even more. But for some random You Tube videos, our knowledge of the place was zero. We didn't know one person who'd gone there. And this was our first long trip without any of the children, which certainly brought the adventure level down by several notches, with no one coaxing us to walk that extra mile, climb that extra hill, try that strange sounding food. But, we had fun. Thanks to Sri Rajiv, of North East Explorers, who'd organized our trip wonderfully well, with attention to every tiny detail. The planning and execution of the whole trip was perfect and the homestays arranged for us were really good. He followed up on us every single day, ensuring we were comfortable. A special thanks to Mr Jamir Ali, who took us around the entire trip in his Innova, whose skill as a driver matched his attitude as a guide and companion. I would highly recommend North East Explorers, if you are planning to visit any North Eastern state. (I would advise you to ask for Sri Jamir too). We learned first hand how clean and safe the north east is, how gentle and simple her people are. And we absolutely loved the trip

We had visited Mechuka in Arunachal from 24 Dec to 29 Dec with North East Explorers. Highly satisfied with the way the tour was conducted. We did not have to worry about anything during the tour. From permits to some of the finest homestays, everything was perfectly arranged. Our request for our preferred homestay in Mechuka was also addressed. Throughout the tour, Rajiv used to coordinate with us or the homestay owners in case we were not reachable on cell. Considering how remote the area was, we were a bit sceptical initially how it would turn out but it turned out to be one of the finest tours done. Thanks to Rajiv and his team for all the arrangements. Special call out to our driver com guide Sukhbir who made our trip even more enjoyable !! Would highly recommend Northeast Explorers.

We planned 12 days relaxing trip to Kaziranga-Majuli-Meghalaya in November and it was an unforgettable one courtesy to NE Explorers. Rajiv meticulously planned and managed everything for us, we didn't have to worry about a single thing during the entire trip, right from stay to tickets and day to day itinerary. Rajiv indeed is amazing in managing, be it changing the homestay at the last moment due to electricity issue or working on de-tour due to Mukroh incident in Meghalaya. Also our timing to visit Shillong was so perfect that we got to behold cherry blossom at its fulll bloom (thanks to Rajiv for such coordination) and it was so dreamy. Similarly, the driver provided, Apu, was very friendly, caring and responsible person, he went to a great length ensuring our safety during the incidence and making our journey an unforgettable one. For anyone looking forward to know the culture, cousine, people and hospitality besides serene natural beauty of NorthEast, hassle free, Rajiv is the best guy. It was really a nice experience in Meghalaya…. northeast explorers taken really good care of us right from the time we started our trip till the end. All homestays were comfortable. Glad we enjoyed local hospitality and culture through homestays..

NE explorers planned an amazing trip to meghalaya. There was a rough itinerary, but we were able to see whatever we wanted on a day-to-day basis. Rajiv and our driver Apu recommended spots based on the weather and our interests. Rajiv was in touch with us throughout the trip, making sure that we were comfortable and happy. The home stays were cute and comfy. Apu was an outstanding driver, guide, photographer and entertainer, and we felt super safe with him. Don’t hesitate to trust NE Explorers for your NE travels.
