My daughter and cousin recommended PAM Health for me to admit here from the Mayo hospital. Smooth transition from the mayo to here at PAM. Friendly and professional staff all around. Highly recommend this rehabilitation hospital.

I love Pam specialty. This is my 3rd time here and when I got sick again and needed wound care management, I knew exactly where to come. I came here for the amazing wound care team. Ricky, John, and Adrian are an amazing team that work well together and are very kind to patients. I tell them they have healing hands. When wound care is done by other nurses outside of Pam it takes forever for my wounds to heal or they dont heal. But soon as Pam's wound care team work on my wounds they heal so fast. So I knew exactly where to come to heal. Because of the wound care team Pam Specialty has, them putting their ideas together on what works best for my wounds, gives me a sense of confidence knowing I will be ok. They also have helped me get through my depression by knowing they are doing everything they can to heal me and it works everytime. A few other nurses that are amazing and really in the healthcare field for the care of patients and not the money is Destiny, and Tracy. Every PCA I have had so far has also been amazing. Some better than others but I'm satisfied. Sonya, Joy, and Tracey's son (forgot his name) are great and patient PCA's. I would recommend Pam Specialty, this location to anyone needing the services offered, ESPECIALLY wound care.

Our 34 yo son was admitted to PAM Health and Rehabilitation Hospital of Wausau after his 6 day hospital discharge following an unexpected stroke. He was able to walk into the facility and was speaking fairly clearly. Within 4 days I noticed that he was hardly eating and seemed to be having difficulty swallowing he also lost his ability to speak and his right sided weakness worsened. I also observed that he had not urinated the entire time we were there. I spoke to several medical staff and was basically told that stroke patients have their ups and downs in recovery. I finally insisted to one nurse that this was a huge change in condition and she contacted the MD and he was taken to the local ER for imaging and labs. He was found to have urinary retention and a UTI. This set his recovery back tremendously. We were then told he was being discharged for failure to progress and in fact he had regressed. We met with a case manager and expressed our numerous concerns. 1. He came on a weekend before a holiday week, followed by a weekend and another holiday week. Staff was minimal and he had no consistency in care across the board. MD, RN, MA, and Therapy 2. He had a medical event that interrupted his recovery and his admission goals were no longer relevant and should have been reviewed and modified. THANKFULLY, the case manager heard our plea and did work to get us an extension. In fact, we got 2 more extensions because our son progressed on all fronts prior to discharge. Having serious concerns initially, once the holidays and weekends were over, he had consistent therapy staff and they were AMAZING! Miranda in speech, Char in OT, and Rob (green Rob) in PT in our opinion went above and beyond! Medical staff remained fairly inconsistent, and he definetly lacked continuity of care. No clear, consistent tracking of intake, output which led to the initial infection and personal help with hygiene needs was lacking as our son was not verbal. Seemed to lack clear direction and patient overall planning. Dietary and food service and the front desk staff were amazing. It is a beautiful facility and I know many of the nursing staff were per diem, but I truly hope they can address the continuity of care piece.

My mom had a fall and fractured her pelvis and was transferred to PAM from the hospital for rehab. Her experience there was exceptionally good! All the people working there were caring, competent, and extremely helpful and made her feel comfortable and well cared for. The food and service were very good, the facility was clean, new and well equipped, and the PT and OT were very knowledgeable and were able to assess her and facilitate her speedy recovery! Highly recommend!

My father in law is currently a patient here and we could not be more impressed with the nursing staff. They are compassionate, caring, understanding and attentive. Beyond that we were blown away by my father in law informing us late the other night last week the Chief Nurse was there and even offered him pizza she brought in for staff because he he was not happy with his food from the kitchen, stating it was cold and tasted spoiled. I have never heard of another hospital where the administration is there at night, great job PAM. You have set the bar high for all other hospitals and thank you to the Chief nurse and the nursing staff. My father in law is thriving now. His only complaint was consistent disappointing food

My mom was at PAM for 3 weeks and we had a wonderful experience. All the amazing people that worked with her were always very caring and so sweet. They always complimented my moms curly hair. This really helped my family and I calm our nerves after the car accident that put my mom in this situation. My family really appreciated that PAM allowed us to support my mom throughout her stay because other hospitals definitely aren’t as flexible with visitors. They allow one person to stay overnight with the patient and the visiting hours are from 8am-8pm. We always tried to give the staff their space to work and patience because hospitals can get very busy. My mom has moved on to a rehabilitation facility but we will forever appreciate the care we received from PAM Health. Their staff is full of such loving people. Thank you so so much to all the staff that worked with Maria in room 316 ❤️

Probably the best place to take a family member. I worked here for a short period of time, there’s good nurses that love what they do. ( every now and then you get 1 bad nurse) but overall working there as a cna there was a team and that’s something you don’t experience everywhere. The food was good. Rooms were always clean. The housekeepers are friendly. I left bcuz of a patient that did not treat me well and when I stood up for myself I got fired because of it. However, I know for a fact if I had to bring a family member anywhere to get treated, I’m taking them to Pam!

I'm giving this place a 4-star rating because of one reason, the therapists I've worked with, the nurses, and the CNA's. They were on top of their game and pushed me passed my pain threshold. Stephanie, Taylor, Katie, Liz are among those who pushed me and I thank them for that and for what they did. So to you all in therapy, you all deal with a lot and you all deserve a lot more thank you's than what you're given. To the CNA's Monica, Anaya, Angela, Freddie, Nidia, Angela and Crystal...you all were wonderful to work with. You listened to your patients and took the time needed to make things work. Thank you for taking care of me when I really needed you. However, the reason for this review. If you have a Medicare Advantage program, make sure to have a supplement insurance plan on top of it. Also, after three appeals, I was still discharged knowing that I wasn't safe to return home after the case worker, who shall remain nameless, decided to inform me that "she was financially responsible" to corporate and I was given the option to go to a hotel. So now I'm being sent home knowing that I'm not safe to return home. As far as the care goes, I think I had a great team. As far as Administration, NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Update: do not let the case workers schedule any deliveries of equipment or any oxygen supplies unless it will meet you at your place of residence. The reason why is when they schedule rides for patients it’s usually an ambulance that will take you home and they think it’s ok to fit that much equipment and personal property in the rig. New update: after a second admission I was discharged yesterday to a facility in Pflugerville. I was told by case management that everything was confirmed and that the equipment would be there. By the time we got there I spent 4 hours on a stretcher because of what case management did by not confirming the admission. I was transported back to Kyle and have spent the last 24 hours in the ER, no thanks to the case managers screw up, in severe pain.
