I've used you company for years and always been very satisfied. But this time the pending deposit of £250 has not been removed when the van was returned 4 days earlier. £250 is a lot of money to hold back from someone. When contacted you stated it can take up to 10 days!! I've now contacted the bank who've removed the pending deposit and its been returned to me. Perhaps instead of upsetting regular customers by telling them there's nothing to be done except waiting 10 days or changing my account to an online credit card for future use, you should advise people to ask their bank to return it!! Unhelpful staff!! Very shocked at this, not what I expect from a company Ive used for years!!

Hi Emma, I'm sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our service during your recent hire. We put a temporary hold on the deposit and released it on our end when you returned the vehicle. Banks have said in the past that it can take up to 10 days for the money to be released back to you, although usually it's much less than this, and I imagine the Bank Holiday didn't help on this occasion. The member of staff you spoke to was just relaying the information that we have been given by banks in the past about how long Pre-Authorisations can take to be released. I'm glad to hear that your bank has now returned the money to you. I'm also pleased to hear that you've been satisfied with our service previously, and I sincerely apologise for the miscommunication on this occasion. If there's one word to best describe Pitter, it is "efficient". We hired a Transit van from Pitter, just for 1 day, van was ready for collection, admin was dealt with quickly, van was good, return admin was quick and easy.

Always the best van hire company, unlike most other companies their prices stay the same year round, most other companies will charge up to 500% more the closer your booking date is.
