And of course above and beyond recovery. I knew my hard drive was on its last legs since its over a decade old, and I wasn't expecting to be able to get all my data, but they managed it and I couldn't be happier

Spent close to $3000 but was unable to recover data from damaged hard drives. Long process with updates only provided when prompted. Paid almost $1000 for fast track service which was a waste considering the process took over a month and then ultimately unsuccessful.

In the recovery process, we provided all progress update and dedicate significant time and efforts to prioritise your recovery case . Unfortunately, not every recovery cases can be successful. It is a misconception to expect a 100% success rate in data recovery. In extreme cases, data cannot be recovered due to the physical condition of the media.
Regarding the emergency assessment fee you paid, this covered highest priority recovery , including after hours and weekend work by our engineers, to achieve results ASAP . Some factors , such as the availability of donor parts can affect timing. In your case, compatible spare parts were rare and had to be ordered internationally, which naturally extended the recovery timeline.
We believe it is a bit unfair to call the effort, expertise, and resources applied to a challenging recovery case as a waste of time or money. No recovery service can guarantee a successful outcome when a drive is physically damaged, and this is further complicated when part of a RAID array.
We provided clear explanations of recovery process and maintained close communication, fully aware of the critical situation of your data. Despite all efforts, some cases like yours simply beyond recovery as circumstances are outside anyone’s control.

In situations where the storage media is severely damaged, the file system may be too compromised to rebuild safely. In those cases, a RAW recovery is the only option to retrieve your data. While RAW recovery does not retain file names or folder structure, it is the best and sometimes the only recovery method .
Cases like this are generally far more complex, requiring significantly more time, specialised tools, and engineering effort, which is why they can be more expensive than standard recoveries.
