While on holiday in Orkney last week, we stopped by the Dashing Deer Bar and Kitchen for lunch. So glad we did, it was a pretty ‘dreich’ day weather-wise, but once inside, the staff were welcoming, the surroundings cosy, and the food was excellent.

We were well looked after informed and entertained during our lunch and gift shop tour We met one of the owners who told us some interesting facts about distilling and history of the local area I also bought the best gardening gloves Ive ever seen and met the lady who makes them. We also bought some scotch and whisky glasses which were reasonably priced. Everyone was so positive and enthusiastic so thanks very much our visit was memorable.

Had a lovely visit here. Very much a work in progress as the main building is still under construction, but they have a fully functional shop with very friendly and knowledgeable staff offering tasting of the spirits, their history and what's coming up next. 😃

We arrived at a bit of a building site and were unsure if they welcomed visitors, but they sure did! Nice gift shop that overlooks production, right around the corner from the car park. Had the most amazing welcome, great people to talk to and they take all the time in the world to let you sample their products. Cannot recommend driving down here enough.

For this year I purchased some gift items and a special edition bottle of gin for Christmas. Delivery was swift and secure with everything arriving intact. The Orchadian Moon Marshmallows are full of flavour and generous - If you have never tried Orchadian Moon Coffee Liqueur then you have missed one of the most amazing coffee drinks ever. The marshmallows are amazing too and great for sharing. The Limited Edition 2023 Gin - we purchased bottle 32 of 200 - well this is a subtly flavoured gin with tones of lemon, lime and tarragon but an unmistakable juniper element simply lets it remain a Gin - BUT a very special gin. We are really happy with our purchases and of course at the next opportunity or visit to Orkney we will be buying more. Keep up the amazing excellent work Stuart and Adelle - we really appreciate it and love the fact it gets the far North of Scotland on the map. Cheers!

Brilliant distillery, one of the best I've ever been too. Great location, very scenic views over the water. Lovely space, great inside and a very nice place to have a drink for the tour. And that's not to mention the booze... Everything they make is incredible, blind taste their Seagrass gin and vodka against storebrands and you will absolutely be able to taste the difference, every time. They make Beefeater taste like white spirits! Well worth a tour

In my recent visit to Orkney from the USA, I tasted Sea Glass gin and it is by far the loveliest, most fragrant, smooth gin I've ever had! I ordered a bottle to send to my Glaswegian hosts who also loved it, and now I'm ordering one for myself. The best!

If you are on Orkney this place is a must. Friendly cheerful staff and god-level gins. I now have their Vara gin on repeat order - it has a floral fire which sets it apart from modern flavoured gins which too often end up tasting like toothpaste. They also have a classy classic gin and warm winter one (Scuttled) which has hints of spice. Also, finally I understand how distillation works, after their patient staff answered about forty questions from me. A great stop on your Orkney tour. We had beautiful weather but I understand it rains now and then (!) which would be a good time to pop into Deerness.
