Great way to spend a weekend listening to each NYU student perform their instrumental talents on stage. They were so respectful of each other taking turns, and their music was so delightful!

Classic small jazz club in the West village. Super intimate setting. We had gone for an open mic afternoon. My daughter who is 16 was so excited because she was able to get in and watch and listen to great jazz music. The staff was excellent.

Un lugar increíble donde escuchar buen jazz en pequeño comité, con tu copita de vino 🍷

ONE TWO READY GO 🎷
Jazz has the power to change LIVES. Tonight, my life, I wouldn’t say was super changed but I could see that there was power in this form. It could change a life.
Smalls is a tight, nitty gritty New York classic. Squeeze in and enjoy some rhythmic pleasure and make sure to tap your foot to the beat. It’s the first rule of jazz.
THANKS. 🛩️

I arrived late 11 mins, so the whole show I was standing and it was extremely crowded definitely more than the places capacity and I actually was hit by everyone passing by! Such an awful experience!
If you read our seating policy, we ask ticketed customers to come 30 min before the show you are seeing starts. If you arrive after the show has already started we have the right to move people into the seats. However, we could offer you a seat on the following show or move you to Mezzrow. All you needed to do was ask the manager and he would have been glad to accomodate you. I'm sorry for your awful experience.

Went here about three years back. Saul Rubin played. The drummer literally moved the crowd and Saul Rubin's notes played like a religious experience. 10/10 I would highly recommend going here if you authentically love jazz and the city. It's a tight spot, hence the name. The music and aesthetic is even tighter. This is hands down my favorite place in the city.

Jazz was great, unfortunately, due to the seating of the venue, I couldn't really see any of the musicians. I feel part of the experience is seeing the performers engross themselves in their music and instruments. Paid $40 per person, one hour show...$55.00 for 4 drinks....tad disappointed.

Booked tickets at Smalls for a show about 2 months ago. Got there and the whole place smelled terrible - strong fumes and started giving me a headache - asked the employees about it and they said that the place was just painted that day! Told them I was going to leave and they gave me the managers email for a refund. Have emailed and not heard back and paid for tickets to a show I didn’t see due to the fumes because they decided to paint hours before having guests.
