Unique distillery
We had a really interesting tour of the distillery followed by a guided tasting session. We then made a purchase in the shop. The staff were friendly and helpful and the whisky was exceptional.

Very interesting visit, enjoyed the tour, all staff very welcoming, and taste session when done very well, also great to see there was a drivers pack available so we could taste at our leisure at home.

Disappointed
The tour followed Wold Top tour which was good. The tour of the distillery was disappointing. At the start of the tour to get to the first room you have to squeeze past customers trying to eat in the cafe. I don’t think the people on the table by the door were happy having the group nudge and bump them as we went behind them. We watched a video which told us the history of the business. You sit on benches which do not face the screen. This means you have to twist to watch the screen and if you are furthest away can have 5 people in front of you also twisting to watch. Went out a different door to the stills which was underwhelming. There was no smell as the stills were not working and the casks are stored off site. You could have been in any industrial shed on any industrial estate. It was entertaining when a member of staff tried to sneek in to get coleslaw for the cafe as our tour was being told about the spirit safe. We went down some steps where we were told some more information whilst stood in one place around a display. For some reason there was lots of flies. We then went to the tasting which takes place in the shop around a barrel right at the toilet door. I felt sorry for the young lady with the baby that had to ask to get past when going to and coming out of the toilets. Embarrassing for her and disruptive to the tour. The staff were friendly enough. The whisky was ok if you have a light palette. We didn't buy anything. The cafe was full and as we didn't know when the tour finished hadn't booked so we left hungry.

Fabulous experience 🤩
Visited today for the tour with hubby. It was his birthday gift from the kids. What a fabulous experience. Our guide was excellent. I am sorry that I can’t remember her name (Polish lady), but she was excellent. She made the tour very interesting and was very knowledgeable. Tasting was great, we even bought two bottles. We finished with lunch in the pot still cafe - excellent. Can highly recommend 👍

Love the fact that everything about the process, from field to bottle is 100% Filey. The takeaway Drivers Pack is a really nice touch too.The cafe upstairs is the perfect place to relax after the tour & enjoy lunch. We had the Valentines sharing platter which was loaded with lots of different goodies. Again everyone was friendly & cheerful & we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The little hearts on the table were an extra nice touchReally can't fault anything about our visit. Highly recommend

Highly recommended.
Fabulous afternoon teas. Plentiful and delicious, well balanced savoury and sweet. . Excellent service from attentive staff . As a vegan I was extremely impressed. Highly recommended for all. A lovely, clean restaurant with a perfect atmosphere. Good value too.
