I am 16 recently did the EBC trek. It was an amazing experience. The guides and porter were great people, they were very friendly and helpful. They were very helpful with navigating tricky things like food allergies and trouble with the altitude. I would definitely recommend this company.

The Everest Base Camp trek with Take on Nepal was more than just a physical challenge—it was a life-changing experience. The breathtaking landscapes, personal growth, friendships, and the incredible support from the porters and guides made it one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The guides ensured our utmost safety at all times from dodging yaks, making sure we stayed hydrated, eating enough food, and at challenging times keeping up our morale with their wit and energy. The porters always greeted us on arrival at the end of each day, most times coming back to provide extra help if we needed it. If you’re looking for an adventure that will push you to your limits whilst offering moments of beauty and connection, the Take on Nepal team can offer a lifetime opportunity. Thankyou.

I had a truly incredible experience in Nepal with Take on Nepal. I did Island Peak climb and the EBC trek and managed with the help of my guide Kumar and porter Anise achieved everything I had set as goals. I had flight issues on the way back (no fault of Take On Nepal) and the team in Kathmandu were great at helping me get back home as quickly and easily as possible. Having contacts in Australia and Nepal really helped as I could ask questions, and they were quickly and accurately answered, and in a way that gave me total confidence that the trip was always going to be great.

My trek to Everest Base Camp with Take on Nepal was an awe inspiring adventure that I will treasure for a life time. From the first enquiry to the flight home, the team’s knowledge, expertise, and genuine care completely reassured me that I was in the right hands. Som and Susan’s unwavering commitment to ethical practice was evident from the start. Their passion for creating positive social, environmental, and economic impact for Nepalese communities was entwined throughout the whole journey in a way that truly set Take on Nepal apart from any others. Everyone from ground staff, guides, to porters were a welcome part of our experience and treated like family. I cannot recommend Take on Nepal enough and am so grateful to have done this trek with their team.

Just finished doing the Everest Base Camp trek with Take On Nepal. The whole team is incredible and the company does much more than offer 11/10 treks, it also supports a pathway for employment for young people in the trekking industry. I am so glad that I found Take On Nepal as I owe it to them for such a great trip this time but will also use them whenever I come to Nepal in the future. Couldn’t be happier!

I had the privilege of trekking to Everest Base Camp with the Take on Nepal team, and it was nothing short of life-changing. From the start, you can tell this is more than just a trekking company—it’s a family. Susan and Som have created a truly special organisation that not only offers incredible treks but also empowers women through their charity work in Som’s home village of Batase. This charity provides education and career opportunities for the entire village including the girls - who would otherwise remain trapped in cycles of domestic labor leaving them vulnerable to abuse and exploitation with no opportunity for independent financial freedom. The trek itself was challenging, but the support from the team was unparalleled. Anil, our lead guide, and Samjana, who set the pace at the front, were both exceptional, overcoming our many obstacles with grace and expertise. Susan joined the trek as well, and it was clear from her interactions with the team how deeply they care for one another. Our porters shared their stories with us and it is clear that there is no lip service with this company. They are valued and paid more than they would be by other companies. The genuine love and respect they all have for each other were evident every step of the way. What stands out most about this company is their pioneering spirit—they were the first to defy cultural barriers and employ women as porters and guides in the region, and now many other companies have followed suit. Trekking with Take on Nepal isn’t just about stunning landscapes—it’s about being part of a movement that is changing lives. I am deeply grateful for the experience and highly recommend this company to anyone seeking an authentic, meaningful trek in Nepal. If you care about the impact you leave behind and want more than just a photo at EBC, choose this incredible team. EBC is a tough trek, and the locals whose support you should benefit directly from your business. Don’t book a multinational contributing to the exploitation of this phenomenal part of the world.

Susan and the whole Take on Nepal team have given me the adventure of a lifetime and I will never forget it. Their passion, attention to detail, work ethic and overall care for our team are to be commended and I truly believe I would not have had the same experience with any other trekking company. I will never forget the smiles on the porters faces even as they hauled our bags up the hill and that has truly made me change my views on life...one step at a time with a smile on your face, even when it's hard. Take on Nepal is an outstanding trekking company with a profound commitment to social impact and community empowerment. Founded by a Nepali-born man, the company’s mission goes beyond providing unforgettable trekking experiences; it’s dedicated to improving the lives of Nepal’s most disadvantaged communities. Take on Nepal invests in the standard of education for children in remote villages, creating brighter futures where opportunities are limited. Additionally, they provide employment and training for some of Nepal's most underserved populations, with a special focus on empowering women. Their guides and porters are not only friendly and knowledgeable but also well-compensated and treated with respect, which is rare in the trekking industry. This translates to an incredibly supportive and caring experience for trekkers, with a team that’s genuinely committed to sharing their culture and land. The Take on Nepal experience is as enriching as it is ethical—a perfect choice for anyone who wants their journey to support positive change in Nepal. Highly recommended!

Trekked EBC with female guides who work with TON. we also had amazing porters who are practising their English so they can train to become guides. TON are an ethical company owned by a Nepalese man & his wife. They look after their staff & also many of the mountain villages in Nepal. If you've thought about visiting Nepal for any reason then contact this company. You will not be disappointed.

If I could give more stars, I would. The Team at Take on Nepal, led by Sandip, did a job better than I could have ever imagined. From the start Sandip emphasised that he wanted us to work together like a family. I have to say that the relationships developed with the Take on Nepal staff, was that they become family, not like family. They could not do enough to help us no matter what the issue, whether it be getting water, or after reaching the days destination coming back to carry my day pack (for the last 3/4 of an hour or so), in the afternoon after a long day's trekking. They organised everything, nothing was trouble. It wasn't only the trek, but the lead up a preparation where they gave great support. I do not hesitate to recommend the Team and crew from Take on Nepal.. I want to say thank you to the crew who became family. Sandip, Som, Samila, Prem & Jiven. I will miss you all. I pray that for each one of you, your dreams and aspirations come to pass.

When people ask me to describe my trip, I find myself at a loss for words. How can I capture such a magical and surreal experience in just a few phrases? From the start, I knew this was a now-or-never opportunity; if I achieved this goal, I would want to return countless times. That instinct proved correct, and I’m already eager for my next adventure in Nepal! This excitement is thanks to the incredible team and the guides who made this journey unforgettable. Sandip, your expertise and knowledge of the terrain were invaluable. You not only kept us safe but also enriched our journey with fascinating insights about the culture and environment. This is your passion, and it showed - loud and clear. Other travelers were curious about our company because of your hands-on approach. Your encouragement, support, respect, quirky personality and understanding were crucial in helping us all reach base camp. Guiding such a diverse group of women was no easy feat, yet you navigated it with ease. We couldn’t have accomplished this without you. Keshika, it was wonderful to witness your confidence grow throughout our trek. And you too were able to share your knowledge and experiences, which allowed us insight into how you - an incredibly talented athlete - landed an opportunity to guide women through the Himilayas. You balanced your own health challenges while keeping spirits high and ensuring we stayed on pace with regular “oxygen breaks” before you called “jam jam” and spurred us all back into action. Your strength and resilience made a significant difference! I’d like to take a moment to recognize the amazing work of our porters. Your role is incredibly demanding, yet the camaraderie you created within our group as you returned to us after setting up our accommodations was truly inspiring. It added so much to our experience and made the trek even more unforgettable. To the Take On Nepal Team, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible support and dedication you provided during my entire trip. From the moment I arrived, your professionalism and warmth made a significant impact on my experience - you made me feel at home instantly. Many people have inquired about my plans to return and further explore the breathtaking Himalayas. It may seem premature, but I already feel a strong pull back to the mountains (I’ve only been home for a week). I anticipate that my return will happen sooner than expected, and I am eager to see what new experiences lie ahead. One thing is clear: I will be returning with Take On Nepal and will be requesting a couple of incredible guides to take me on my next Himalayan journey.

This was a truly amazing experience and it would not have been possible without the dedication and tireless efforts of the Take on Nepal team. Our guides and porters supported us every step of the way and made the adventure truly unforgettable! Thank you to all the Take on Nepal team members! From those who arranged and booked our trip, greeted us at the airport, took us sightseeing, arranged helicopters, guided our trip, supported us through difficulties, carried our duffles and much more, you all are amazing people and I am fortunate to have met you. Thank you for all you do 💕

My mum and I went on the Langtang valley trek and were very well taken care of. Our guide and porter- Nabaraj and Sanu always greeted us with a big smile, answered any questions we had and made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible! We thoroughly enjoyed the village Kyanjin Gompa - looking out at the beautiful mountains, spotting baby yaks and a challenging but incredible sunrise hike to the summit at Kyangjin Ri! Take on Nepal is a beautiful company, that gives back to their own community and is committed to making your journey as easy and stress free as possible. We loved every minute! Thank you to the team at Take on Nepal!!💕
