We stayed at the Villa Sheffa and found that this villa was not the luxe property it was promoted as and priced as. Maintenance/Safety The villa is not well maintained; we found broken items each day of our stay, door handles fell off, patio door off kitchen was inoperable as examples. As well, the water pressure was very low and water temperature was lukewarm at best. Finally, the roof leaked. The location of the leak was over the stairs which made the place unsafe. Representation of location The villa is not on the beach, nor walking distance as the Thea site would lead you to believe. It is a 10 minute ATV ride to town and beach. We brought these isssues to the managers attention. She tried her best to get them fixed, but none of them were. The compensation offer was to extend our stay by a day, or a free day's stay on our next visit. As we had flights home and don't anticipate staying at this villa again the remediative offer was not of value. We were duped and hope you won't be.

I hosted a retreat at Thea and it was an incredible experience; the house, the view, the service. Can highly recommend!

Leider waren die Erfahrungen nicht so positiv wie die vorherigen Rezensionen. Wir waren in der kleinsten Unterkunft in der das Bad ausgelagert ist. Das finden wir an sich nicht so schlimm nur hatten wir damit nicht gerechnet und es hat eher den Charakter eines Zimmers mit Gemeinschaftsbad. Das Bad sieht auch leider schon etwas mitgenommen aus. Hinter dem Haus ist eine Art Müllhalde. In der Gemeinschaftsküche gibt es keine Möglichkeit Kaffee zu machen, nur die kleine Maschine auf dem Zimmer mit Taps, das Zimmer hat keinen eigenen Kühlschrank. Einer der Balkonstühle ist kaputt. Die Lage ist außerhalb den Berg hoch was uns nicht gestört hat, denn das wussten wir vorher und mit 4x4 kein Problem (ca. 10 min vom Zentrum). Der Pool und die Aussicht sind wie auf den Fotos wirklich toll, auch das Bett ist groß und gemütlich, das Zimmer sauber und riecht gut. Zimmerservice top! Die Kommunikation läuft ausschließlich über WhatsApp was wirklich sehr gut funktioniert hat, es braucht nicht zwingend eine Rezeption. Alles in allem eine gemischte Erfahrung, uns ist bewusst dass es sich um „Luxusprobleme“ handelt, aber für den stolzen Preis erwarten wir einfach mehr. Ich würde nicht wieder kommen.

Wow, just wow. You can’t help but be in a state of awe upon arriving to the property. After the initial jaw-dropping has concluded, it’s hard to leave for the day into town. The property feels like a tranquil oasis that truly recharges the body and mind. It’s in the little details like the silky soft bed sheets, the natural stone decor and bathroom, and the list of amazing amenities available. I was delighted to see that there was even a tattoo artist on the list of services available. How cool! The location was exceptional, and it was easy to get to a great number of the town’s best eats. We loved our stay at Thea. It was a hidden gem of tranquility and beauty above the busyness of Santa Teresa. One of the most stunning by sunsets Iv seen!

It was a mixed bag of an experience. Most of the negative things unfortunately go for a questionable management of this place. The positive goes to well thought design and its proximity to nature, it’s a beautiful place, which is located far away from the dust and dirt of Santa Teresa.The villas are surrounded by living and breathing variety of animals, plants and trees and insects. The view to the sea is also gorgeous, but that’s pretty much where the positive feedback ends. Sadly, there’s no proper administration present at the property, except for cleaning and maintenance staff. This is evident by a ridiculous practice, where the staff was burning huge pile of garbage just next to the villas (the size of this pile was 2x larger than the pool area) nearer the end of our stay. The air quality in the villas (in our case it was the villa that had no walls) became identical to large forest fires that produced toxic fumes from burned waste and we were breathing it for the entire night and next day. If there would have been some management present at the site, not only this practice would be immediately called off, it’d be highly illogical to do this type of extremely dangerous practice considering a very dry conditions in the dry season, but also it’d make no sense because of wind direction that always blows toward the villas. The hosts were very slow to resolve the situation and we actually had to solve it ourselves. Me and my partner actually tried to extinguish the smoky pile ourselves during the night as it was highly toxic to breathe it in during the night. While doing so, we were appalled by the fact that the staff and maintenance personnel lives in a poorly constructed shack next to these villas. Other than that this negative experience that happened almost at the end of our stay, we struggled to reach these villas as there’s no proper road available. You'd only be able to go to the villas if you rent 4x4 or ATV as you'll be dealing with bumpy, dusty and rocky pathways leading steeply uphill to the villas on daily basis. You'd be able to go down by foot, but be prepared to be covered in dust and be completely exhausted when you've reached the town. We didn't have our own car and we were using pirate taxis that come up with different prices out of thin air. I'd recommend not to stay for longer period of time, as you’ll get exhausted going uphill and downhill all the time, unless you’re a very adventurous type of person. If you'd be staying in Santa Teresa, it may well be one of the places to consider staying in (it's night and day when comparing it Burning Man type of desert town), but bear in mind some of the shortcomings that may appear like it was in our case.

Great experience! Every inquiry was immediately taken care of by the concierge and were even allowed to do a late check out at 4pm which made our last day in Santa Teresa so much more relaxed. The whole staff working around (landscaping, house keeping, maintenance, concierge) is really friendly. Make sure you rent an ATV or AT LEAST a 4x4 vehicle to get up there, it is in the middle of the jungle basically but only a 8min ride away from downtown Santa Teresa.

Amazing place. The calm and view are perfect to enjoy after the beach. Gabriel, our concierge, was at our full disposal and was very helpful. We would love to be back. PS: Make sure to have a 4x4 to get there.

This place feels like heaven. It’s so beautiful and made with love, the owners, concierges and managers are all incredible friendly and really want to make your stay perfect, and for us it definitely was! 😍 thanks for everything Thea! We will be back for sure :)

Our stay at Thea Retreat was amazing. So amazing in fact that we cancelled our second place and decided to stay at Thea for the reminder of our trip. Don't let the drive up discourage you because once there, it's truly a quiet paradise that awaits you - away from the noise, dust and hustling of the very busy Santa Teresa main street. Rooms are big, very comfortable, designed with care and with natural materials - it is very soothing and calming. The infinity pool is refreshing, overlooking the ocean and surrounded by nature - we spent a great amount of time there looking at the birds and the sunset! On top of all that, Adi, the owner is wonderful. She can personalizes your stay to your liking. 5 stars! Merci pour tout Adi!

My time at Thea Retreats was incredible. The love and support I received was beautiful and everything was so well thought out from the cleanse to the physical activities, the food and the relaxation. This retreat was created with love and I certainly felt that when I was there.

THE BEST EXPERIENCE you can possibly gift yourself and your loved ones!!! I recently finished my 7 days juice cleanse retreat at Thea with Adi and it truly was Life Changing. Adi is the facilitator, host and owner of this magical place. She is a very special human who will personally assist you through the process of getting rid of whatever does not serve you and your purpose anymore. She integrated the juice fast with some beautiful practices such as morning meditations, yoga, massages, reiki, vegan cooking classes, aloe vera body wraps all performed by professionals and amazing people. The place is so gorgeous and peaceful, right in the jungle of Santa Teresa above beach level with ocean breathtaking views. I've attached some photos below, even though in person it's way way better. This was not only a body cleanse but a whole rebirth especially after this though stressful time, I was really in need of an experience like this. Gracias Adi for everything! What a transformational experience! I came to THEA by some divine intervention with no expectations at all. The moment I arrived to CR until I departed the experience was magical. Divine Shakti, Adi, held me in her lap like a nourishing mother, sister. The property is beyond healing and magical. Every corner is so beautiful. Everything is so thoughtful and carefully designed for a unique experience indeed. The detox juices are so well balanced and so much love put in them. The food, before and after the detox, beyond magical. The activities, Yoga, and the treatments are so well incorporated. Every person I had healing with is so connected and so loving. I left THEA healed from so many lifetimes, at the DNA level. A true unique experience indeed. I cannot wait to go back. MAGICAL is the word for THEA.

Absolutely magical and life changing in every aspect. This was my first juice cleanse, I had been having dehydration issues and was looking for something to do from home but nearby. Thea was just down the street from me! Adi is an absolutely magical being, a mixture of fairy and elf. I was just going over the juices and ingredients and wow, every juice is made with lots of love, high quality organic ingredients and superfoods and none are exactly the same! The entire cleanse was amazing, the yoga, sauna, and treatments were all extremely beneficial physically, emotionally, mentally. This is the only juice cleanse you need to do in your life!!!
