Mr. and Mrs. Marshall, We are incredibly sad to see this response. We have kept a complete log of all emails, text messages, and records with timestamps to clear any misconceptions. The following is a complete recount of the Marshall move: 12/17 @ 11:30am - Valet received a quote request from the Marshalls. 12/17 @ 11:32am - Matthew reached out to the Marshalls and spoke with Mrs. Marshall for 24min 22sec. Mrs. Marshall stated that she got a quote from another mover for $4500, but he would "Moonlight" her job for $3000 and she would still need to pay for a U-haul and gas. She expressed how "sketchy" that seemed, and Matthew agreed. They then put an estimate together for a home move that needed minimal packing assistance in the kitchen/TVs/select pictures, and the A to B transport of their belongings. Valet was never to pack their entire home, only the TV boxes, Picture Boxes, and Dishpacks that were requested. The Marshalls explained that the move needed to happen and be delivered before they could get to the destination. The Marshalls asked if Valet could perform an unsupervised unload so they didn't have to drive miles with nowhere for their family to stay, which we obliged. We provided the proper legal documents and waivers to accommodate. The services we provided were: 1. Flat Rate Transport Cost 2. Labor at a Low Hourly Rate (Packing, Loading, and Unloading) 3. Flat Rate for Bulk Items (Pianos, Pool Tables, Gun Safes, etc.) 4. Packing Materials upon Request (Boxes, Packing Paper, Packing Tape, TV Boxes) Upon booking this last-minute move on 12/17 (for a move date of 12/19), the "Original Estimate" ($3541.50) that was given and agreed to was for select materials the Marshalls requested, an Industry Standard flat rate travel charge (that did not change,) a gun safe (we did not charge for,) and a total of 8 hours of labor with a 2-man team at $150 per hour. The Marshall move was then scheduled for 12/19 with an arrival time between 9-10am. Move Day 12/19 @ 7:31am After waking at 4am, to prep their truck at 5 and be on the road by 6am, the crew texted the Marshalls that they had an ETA of 8:31am. This would have been 29 min ahead of schedule, NOT "Almost 2 hours earlier" as has been stated. 12/19 @ 8:01am We were quite surprised when Mrs. Marshall called the office furious that they would be 30 min early and began accusing us of "screwing with her time and money.” After she hung up, we called the team and asked them to stop nearby and wait in the truck for a half an hour. 12/19 @ 9:00am the moving team arrived and were instructed by Mr. Marshall to "Back it right up through the yard portion to the front door.” Driver asked "are you sure?” Mr. Marshall said "yes" and his instructions were followed. 12/19 @ 9:08am the moving team started packing and loading and finished in an hour UNDER BUDGET. 12/19 @ 1:35pm Upon entering the new home, the Moving team found half of the Marshall's paintings already pulled down and leaned up against the wall on the floor. At no time during the loading process were any Valet employees smoking while handling furniture or anywhere near the moving truck. The Marshall's initial "Estimate" upon booking was $3541.50, and the actual End Total for services came to $3476.50, under budget by $65. There were no "Surprise Charges.” A 2-day event move has a 2-part invoice. Upon completion of the move, part 1 of your invoice was sent and upon realizing the sent invoice was not complete, our office staff reached out within 4 minutes to clarify and sent a complete and finalized invoice. This happened immediately, NOT 3 hours later. To post this review telling a completely different story of your move is extremely hurtful both professionally and personally. We are a small, family-owned business with decades of experience serving our community and hundreds of customers. We pride ourselves on delivering nothing short of a 5-star experience and we are deeply upset to see this slanderous narrative.
