Beautiful setting with excellent service Beautiful location with tremendous service to take care of your every need without being in your face. Very easy to get to from Liberia airport. Excellent massages offered on-site. Large and comfortable bedrooms with new beds.

Wonderful! We had a wonderful week at Villa Buena Onda, which offered everything we could possibly need, including access to a chef, bartender, housekeeping and an on-site spa. Chef Nela's food was absolutely delicious, and Samuel was always at our service, whether he was serving us delicacies or refilling our wine glasses. We enjoyed driving the golf cart into town, just a few miles away, to explore the local shops, restaurants, and the beautiful beach. After a day of hiking, boating and snorkeling, it was a treat to to return to the comforts of the villa. We loved our time at Villa Buena Onda and hope to return soon!

Tropical Paradise Villa Buena Onda is nestled in the hills above playas del Coco. The villa is on a large piece of property which is beautifully landscaped and impeccably maintained. It faces the ocean, and has stunning views of Coco bay. The villa is quiet and feels secluded, but it is a short walk from the bustling beach town of Coco. The rooms were all spacious, well appointed and immaculate. The centerpiece of the villa is a gorgeous two-tiered swimming pool, complete with a waterfall and swim up bar. We enjoyed wonderful excursions each day (snorkeling, hiking a volcano, swimming beath a breathtaking water fall), but we were always excited to return to the comfort of the villa. The dining at Villa Buena Onda is exceptional. All of the meals were served al fresco at a large dining table on the terrace above the pool. Each day began with a bountiful breakfast, which always included fresh papaya, mango, and other tropical fruits which were picked daily from the villa's orchard. In addition to standard American fare, breakfast would always include a few traditional Costa Rican choices which were introduced and explained to us by our loveable waiter, Samuel. Lunch was unnecessary, as our days were filled with activities outside the villa. But when any of our group found themselves in the villa at mid-day, Nala would make sure they were fed warm pupusas, or guacamole prepared with avocados freshly picked from the orchard. After our daily excursions, our whole party (17 in all) would gather for dinner. We sat together beneath the stars while an attentive staff served us extraordinary meals and excellent wine. If you are looking for a really special getaway for a group, this is the place. I know our group is looking forward to returning to Vila Buena Onda.

VBO: I could get used to this All the comforts of home if your home includes world class amenities, an uber-attentive staff (I miss Samuel, Nela, Heidy and the rest every day), sumptuous meals every day, and access to indescribable views and activities. I recommend the day sail with snorkeling and the volcano hike with waterfalls you can swim under. Did I mention the spa? And the guest bartender? We were truly spoiled during the entire experience which was equal parts adventure and relaxation. I can't wait to go back.

An Amazing Experience! Our week at Villa Buena Onda was spectacular. My wife and I joined seven other couples and we were treated like royalty by VBO's wonderful staff from the warm greeting when we arrived to the emotional goodbyes when we left. The food was incredible and the spa treatments were so relaxing. My wife and I got a couples massage, and we did not want it to ever end. VBO helped us with all of our excursions and transportation needs. They made it very easy for us to enjoy every aspect of our vacation. Samuel served us all of our meals and we all wanted to take him home with us! We cannot wait to go back to Villa Buena Onda!!

Experience Pura Vida! Pura Vida! Villa Buena Onda is a fantastic destination. The property is great, well-kept with friendly and attentive staff. I traveled there with friends. We enjoyed great gathering spaces inside and outside, with plenty of room to spread out as well. The large, covered pavilion by the pool was a favorite hangout spot. It provides a perfect break from the sun and is just as great a place to take in a seasonal afternoon rain shower. Dinners together were terrific, always delicious and served with attention to detail. There was something for everyone at the villa with optional activities offered daily by the staff. One day we met in the kitchen for an empanada cooking class—fun and delicious! Another day they prepared craft cocktails poolside featuring fruits and herbs picked from the on-property garden. The villa staff made our stay special. They are warm and offer the best in Cosa Rican hospitality. The villa is well located with many walkable activities. We hiked nearby trails with great panoramic coastline views and also walked to town. The villa is close to Coco Beach, a small beach town with restaurants and shops. We enjoyed a couple afternoons in town. Coconutz is a great sports bar for futbol and football. I hope to return soon to Villa Buena Onda!

Villa Buena Onda - Great Experience Not sure where to begin. I was invited to visit Villa Buena Onda as part business part leisure trip. Travel into Liberia was smooth and the airport is such a better experience than San Jose. After a short drive, we arrived at the property and I was immediately impressed by the well kept grounds and the curb appeal of the property. We were greeted by the staff and for the next 6 days, we enjoyed days of relaxing by the pool, venturing out for hikes and trips on the water. Each morning we sat outside and enjoyed the view of the Pacific while the staff served up a delicious breakfast of traditional and local fare. It only got better at night for dinner. The chef and the staff served amazing dinners each night. The pool and the outdoor bar area make for a relaxing day or evening. My room was spacious, decorated nicely, super clean and had views out to the ocean that you usually see only in magazines. Bottom line - this villa is the perfect getaway for a private and pampered getaway. The real secret is the incredible local staff that runs the place. Everyone was friendly and greeted us with a smile. Charlie the concierge made it all happen including a fishing trip he booked for me. I brought my catch back to the villa and the chef prepared an amazing fish dinner in true Costa Rican fashion. This gem of a place, nestled above Playa del Coco, is a rare find. Super private. I look forward to returning.

Best Stay in Costa Rica...Ever! Beautiful Villa and great escape for a large group. Great to be so close to the airport and not spend a lot of time in the car back and forth. Villa was far enough away as a perfect secluded escape but still in walking distance ot the local grocery store. Bedrooms are huge with beautiful views from the balconies. Everyone loved the two tiered pool and the swim up bar...so cool! Meals were phenomenal and the staff were so attentive and fantastic. Thanks to Charlie for all his help scheduling our day trips, shuttles and spa sessions. Spa services were incredible. Our masseuse Naza was awesome! Loved the sleepy laid back town of Coco Beach. Lots of shops and beach front bars and restaurants. Nice to have the pick up point for our sunset cruise right on Coco Beach.

AMAZING!! Wow what a resort!! We spent a week here and absolutely the best vacation ever. There were 18 in our family from 11-79. Everyone loved it. The accommodations are superb, the food was great ( very Costa Rica style) and the STAFF WOW. Everyone was superb. We wanted a vacation that was truly a relaxing vacation and that it was. We were treated like royalty. We cannot say enough good about how the staff treats you The day we had to say goodbye there were tears in everyones eyes. We celebrated an anniversary, a 79th Birthday and also end of chemo surviving life and in remission for me. I cannot say enough good about this place. The rooms were great the beds comfortable and we were very satisfied. Definitely will hope to go back someday.

Magical experience ☺️ Villa Buena Onda!! One of the best vacations by far. It started with the communication with Charlie who made sure everything was organized for arrival. We had complimentary shuttle service from airport to Villa and back to airport. We had 3 delicious meals per day that were pre planned prior to arriving which were served by Samuel and his team. Samuel was such a hard worker. He was so nice and kind and assisted us with translating when needed. The ladies in the kitchen that prepared meals were so sweet. Diego our private bar tender from 11am to 8pm was such a great host as well. When he left at 8pm he made sure we had ice and glasses along with our drinks that could last til the end of the night. There was also a grounds keeper that made sure we were good to go at night and made sure things were secure. If your thinking of booking stop reading and book right now you will not be disappointed. We had a group of 16 and everyone had a fantastic time at Villa Buena Onda!!!

Amazing Vacation destination!!! We had the most amazing stay at Villa Buena Onda! Everything was perfect for the celebration of our 45th wedding anniversary. The Villa is so spacious and very clean, the pools were perfect for our group of 9 adults and 6 children (ages 9-15). The staff took such great care of us, making themselves available to assist with whatever needs we might have. The food was perfect! We only wish we could have stayed longer. You won't go wrong choosing this as your vacation destination!

Amazing staff The villa was absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous view and amazing pools. The rooms are spacious and beds are cozy. The staff was so amazing and made our stay the best vacation ever. The food here was way better than anything we had at the local restaurants. Not a single bad thing to say about this place.

Luxury and Privacy! We couldn’t have had a more perfect stay in Coco. This all inclusive villa has everything we were looking for. We enjoyed gourmet meals and the staff was so attentive and friendly. The two pools and swim up bar were are main hang outs and our bartender Samuel made sure we were taken care of. The rooms were beautiful and huge and every room has a view. We all were pampered by a full range of spa services on property! We also loved the variety of games offered on property and easy access to Coco beach and its many excursions (we took a tuna fishing charter and sunset snorkel cruise). And the best part was this was our own private paradise. We can’t wait to come back to Villa Buena Onda!

Wedding Vacation Thank you Villa Buena Onda and all the staff for making our wedding day and staycation so lovely and welcoming. The team is wonderful and were available to help our guests with anything they need including meal requests, daily excursions and activities, local restaurant recommendations, etc. They went above and beyond to decorate my wife and I's suite to capture the newlywed/honeymoon vibes! Nela, Heidy, Samuel, Abigail, and all the villa's team members were amazing! Would recommend 100 times over.

Great stay! This house had it all - the accommodations for our family and friends was perfect. In addition to a comfortable home and beautiful outdoor pool area, the view of the ocean from our location was just spectacular. The meals were prepared by the house staff, and offered a wide variety of fresh seasonal fruits, vegetables, meats and seafood. Our chef was creative, and we came home with a few great recipes! Abigail was terrific, and helped book many excursions for us - this made all of our adventure seeking seamless, and many of the tour guides went above board for us because they knew we were referred by Abigail. We would definitely be interested in renting this home again!
