I ordered a personalized butcher block cutting board as a housewarming gift for my son and daughter in law. The board is beautiful and should last a lifetime. I know they will love it!

Update to my review: The customer service following the sale was terrible. In spite of numerous attempts, James has never returned our calls or texts. (We have a problem with opening the table to access the leaf and it has never even been looked at by them.) For this reason, I would not recommend doing business with this company. They clearly do not stand behind their product. James and his team listened to our design request for a custom round dining table. The result was a beautifully crafted 60” walnut table with a custom steel tripod base. The table includes a leaf hidden within the table for easy storage and use. We are delighted with the table and the service provided by this family owned and operated company. Kevin & Kathleen DeBord

Mahogany House Woodworks made a beautiful custom cherry tabletop for our kitchen. We are impressed with the quality of the product, and with the installation. Our home was built in the 1910’s, so we never know what to expect with uneven walls, etc, but MHW was to adapt and install the table top perfectly in this unique space. They are also all really nice people and pleasant to work with!

We contacted Mahogany House after deciding we could no longer commit to building our own butcher block countertops as we had planned. We could not be more happy with our decision. Our countertops were exactly what we were hoping for. They worked with our wonky, old, nothing is level or square house. They provided all the information we needed to successfully take care of the countertops, and they were all around great to work with. Thank you!

Superb design, superior craftsmanship, sterling offerings of fine woods. I've such a cutting board from MHW and it is a splendid part of my home's kitchen. Their remarkable tables and chairs are no less brilliantly planned and exceptionally well made. Chosen once, enjoyed for a lifetime.

Anyone can get a cheap and boring cutting board. You don't cook boring food, do you? Don't get a dumb cutting board! I try to support local businesses whenever possible and this was a great decision. Excellent craftsmanship from MHW, using lovely cherry end grain, in a butcher block style. Highly recommended. I'd buy another without hesitation but this cherry cutting board will still be in use long after I'm gone.

I would give them 10 stars they actually did a rush for me. They are the nicest people I’ve worked with trough the internet. The packed the shipping box perfectly. Also included a nice thank you note hand written. What more could you ask for

We had two beautiful table tops made out of walnut. They turned out great!

I am revising my prior negative review. I gave a 1 star for a substantial delay in a custom project for my music studio. If I could, I would give 4.5 stars for the revision. James personallty reached out and apologized for the delay and problems with communication. He explained that he had recent staff turnover, but also owned up to the issues. Ultimately, the finished product looks amazing and perfectly meets my request. Thanks Mahogany team!

I do not recommend this company. Though their counters may look beautiful the installation was horrific. They came to the house to measure and create a template for these counters, the cutting and installation were incorrect. It has taken almost 2 months to come to some kind of attempt at making it better. The attempt at fixing their error leaves me having to live with the stupidest looking kitchen counters. I Suggest people not do business with a company that does not own up to the errors and fix them the appropriate way with new countertops correctly measured and cut. It took two months of texting calling leaving messages trying to get this sorted out, and what they considered fixed is by no means fixed. I am Heartbroken over the amount of money that was spent for the outcome that there was. I strongly urge people to stay away from this company.

They are easy to work with for a custom order. The final product is beautiful and excellent quality. We are very happy.

I came across Boise Custom Furniture during my search for a desk top. Since I already had the hardware for a sit/stand desk the last piece I needed was the surface. After a couple of emails and a phone call the good folks at Boise Custom Furniture gave me a few options. We agreed on materials and dimensions and I couldn’t be happier with the final product. It’s rare when a project comes in on-time, at the quoted price and exceeds expectations.

We contacted James during our kitchen remodel with the idea of a walnut butcher island. James walked us through the options and recommendations for our use (heavy cooking with children). The island is the centerpiece of our kitchen and we could not be happier with the outcome. There is a personal touch here that is uncommon in the home remodels, like letting my young boys help with the install and explaining the process to us the whole way. Highly recommended for the quality of work and you know you are helping a local business and family.

After a kitchen flood my husband and I took the opportunity to rethink our kitchen/dining room. After contacting a few different places and being turned down, James was willing to take on our wild idea with enthusiasm. Both Jake and James came over and scoped our idea of converting our separate island and dining room table into one gigantic functional island/dining room table-in-one. I was very specific in the wood design in matching my previous (much smaller kitchen table). The base came fairly quickly, but it did take several months for the top to be completed (pandemic shortage in wood). Regardless, the wait was worth it. My husband is a detail-oriented engineer, and he was blown away at the craftmanship. The pictures do not do it justice. Our large family has many years of memories of meals and family game nights at this table to come. We are beyond excited. Thank you James & Jake (and Ella!)! (Our kitchen/dining room space still in renovation and will repost/update with finished pictures).

The folks at Boise Custom Furniture/Mahogany House Woodworks (James, Mike & Jake) took our idea for two matching cabinets, to be placed in recessed areas on each side of our fireplace, and turned the idea into two beautiful custom pieces. Each piece has two soft-close doors with two understated silver pulls that conceal a spring action drawer that sits over each of the two storage areas. What pulls it all together beautifully is the reddish-colored finish that brings out and accents the grain of the wood. We couldn’t be happier with our new custom cabinets.
